"You should've seen some members of my clan then. A lot of them lived very long lives. At least, very long for people of our kind." She thinks back to when she was VERY young, when it was more than just her and her parents. When there were neanderthals pushing 60 or 70. Which was a colossal achievement for them.
"It has been..." She bunches up the fabric of her skirt in her hands, peering down ,unsure, "....an adjustment, I would say. Learning language proved difficult. But I like modern art. I like that art still is important."

A sharp, irritated inhale and a low hissing exhale. "Okay. One, who are you? You're a new face I haven't met before, or sseen around Ionia. Long wayss to even get here! I know a few ssecret shortcutss. Ssecondly!" Soldan grumbled, eye twitching in a subtle way. "Shortcomingss?! WHAT?!"
Well, Flint hadn't expected such a caustic reaction to that. Frankly, people seemed to take her bluntness a lot better than this woman did but it was true they did not know each other. Flint simply stood there as the other practically hissed at her, not sure what to do.
"I was simply being honest." She finally spoke up, giving a bit of a shrug, not too moved either way by the other's understandable reaction to a stranger barreling into them.

"It sounds like you simply cannot expect your vertical shortcomings, actually."
She says this but she's under 5 foot. So she has no room to talk.
She started to think she could get used to this person and furthermore this setting. It seemed far more open towards strange individuals than anywhere else she had been before. And it's not like she was leaving anything behind, either.
The other's surprise was quite amusing, actually, and one could tell through Flint's amused expression as she ran her fingers through her egregiously long brown hair.
"Ice. That's how." She said, matter-of-factually, continuing to play with her hair idly, "I thawed out a few years ago."
