I am having a chronic illness terrible time so no fic updates this week. If you need me, I’ll be lying on the bedroom floor, barely moving.

UK COVER REVEAL: Everyone who knows me knows that this cover is completely up my street. SNEK.
If, like me, you are overheating this week, pre-ordering a chilling book for the winter months might just cool you down! Do you love a vampire tale? Or a story where an undead creature lingers in the dark shadows longing for love? Then Emrys the teenage revenant (17 years old, 157 years undead) is the main character you’ve been waiting for.
Nightcurse is coming to UK and North American bookstores very soon and is currently available for pre-order. UK people, use the link below!
(And here are some really nice quotes from some really nice authors who have read it)
Buy Nightcurse by Emma Hinds from Waterstones today! Click and Collect from your local Waterstones or get FREE UK delivery on orders over £2
idk what do you guys think they did with all that time in prison. this was really the only option to me.
This is the most accurate representation of Martok I've seen in a while.
My heart belongs to Garashir
Revolutionary Rom
@imadoctornotanescalator Him!
Rom is our leader of tomorrow.
oh my god
Well this is the best thing I've ever seen.
i hope you feel better <3, chronic shit sucks so bad.
i love htthop so much, like, fully my entire day gets better and i will literally drop everything just to read it. i still cry to your arthur weasley scene. it’s what i think about when i think about beauty in death and pain and love. i also really loved witchlore and nightcurse and the world you are building there, are you going to keep writing things in the same universe do you think? I haven’t read the knowing or the quick and the dead yet but i have them!
This is such a sweet thing to hear, thank you so much. Nightcurse is in the same world as Witchlore and that comes out in October, beyond that I am at the whim of the publishing world so who knows! I would like to keep writing in that world but there’s also potential in other worlds to explore. One of my favourite worlds that I have built is my world for The Quick and the Dead which is a queer little book that very few people have read but brings me so much joy.
Hi, hope you're doing well. The recent few chapter of HTTHOP moved me, I can't believe it's actually ending already
I was listening to 'What if I miss you for the rest of my life?' by Janine Berdin and these last lyrics remind me of Severus and Remus, maybe Severus and Harry if I squint, especially with the latest chapter
"I have built a house where I wait for your return
I only want you to be mine and not a lesson learned
And I will wait and wait and wait until this city burns
I will wait and wait and wait and live on what we learned"
Your honour they destroy me
Oh wow, beautiful lyrics! I like the last line especially about living on what we learned. That feels especially true for Harry and Remus right now.
Hello
I had a question whether you would mind a fanfic made from your fanfics?
Like it'll probably be an AU or smth without magic mostly
But could I write one? That is if I ever get the motivation for it but just wanted to ask in case?
Hello! I’m very egalitarian when it comes to fanfic. I believe it’s polite to credit inspiration if you’re using someone else’s fanfic and writing a story in the specific world they created. There’s a feature on AO3 where you can even link to a fic that inspired your fic, and quite a few people have already created fics and fanart on AO3 that’s inspired by The Heir to the House of Prince. I’m always happy to have more!
Happy writing!
Two chapters this week

Because I'm a madperson on a mad mission to finish this fic by the 29th of July. For reasons of neurodivergent symmetry.
And if that doesn't make me a fuckin Tumblr writer I don't know what does.
YES THIS IS MY WORLD CUP!!!!
Very excited to see where this week takes us :D
I am someone’s World Cup, this is the best moment of my life.

This is maybe my favourite gross sweet based thing that Kreacher has done.

has anyone figured out how to turn off the thing where you love your pet so much it slides inexorably into grief-borrowing
“For me this glass is already broken. I enjoy it; I drink out of it. It holds my water admirably, sometimes even reflecting the sun in beautiful patterns. If I should tap it, it has a lovely ring to it. But when I put this glass on the shelf and the wind knocks it over or my elbow brushes it off the table and it falls to the ground and shatters, I say, ‘Of course.’ When I understand that the glass is already broken, every moment with it is precious.”
Pets, people, life moments, success ... reblogging this to check myself with it later.
I AM THE WORD WITCH BURN ME IF YOU DARE
dystopia au where we are all assigned one of two chosen genders at birth
Thanks to ultrasounds, the genders can be assigned before birth. The people are so excited to conform they throw “Gender reveal parties” to make sure their offspring exist in a strict binary since before they can even form thoughts.
Children are color-coded according to their binary assignment.
One of the genders is seen as inherently inferior.
This all sounds really effing creepy when you put it that way
#BECAUSE IT IS
And if you deviate from the assigned gender you can be disowned by your family, fired from your job, and beaten by authorities.
This is like one of those YA dystopian novels where you’re born as one of the bads or one of the goods
I do like the idea of doing for transphobia with a YA what Margaret Atwood did for sexism with The Handmaids Tale
New chapter The Heir to the House of Prince
https://archiveofourown.org/works/43358683/chapters/231934486
Got too excited to be posting again so couldn't wait until wednesday. By the end of July, this fic will be FINISHED and that is honestly mad.
But this chapter 'Summer Love' is as close to tooth rooting flufff as I get.
This chapter, A WEDDING! Next chapter, a plan.
When we were children, my sister had private music lessons at her violin teacher’s house. I only visited there once, but I still remember that afternoon. The teacher had an artificial pond in her yard, a large beautiful thing with lily pads and plant life. And in the pond, there were goldfish. I had never seen such enormous goldfish.
I spent several minutes just staring at them (and trying to convince them to bite my fingers.) When my sister’s violin lesson ended, her teacher came out to the yard and explained that these goldfish were the same small creatures that were often unfortunately sold in plastic bags at state fairs. They were only about two inches long apiece, when she bought them and put them in the new, empty pond. In essence, they were like every goldfish I had seen before, but they had been given a much larger, much richer environment in which to flourish. As a result, they had grown into some of the most remarkable, vibrant creatures my twelve-year-old self had ever met with. All because of a pond.
Funny what lessons children remember. My sister doesn’t play the violin anymore, but that was the first time I caught a glimpse of the overwhelming extent to which it matters, the way the world treats us.
Reblogged again for this drawing I made for it
Give us room to grow and see how we flourish.
