Hiya!

My name is Gilly and I’ve had a lifetime obsession with understanding the wonderful world of clowns!

After my great aunt’s retirement I inherited the giggle gaf rescue and care center.

Ever since (two weeks ago) I’ve been taking great lengths to insure the wellbeing and happiness of the clowns in my care.

As you could tell from how long ago I was given my position, I’m still very new to this and would love to hear any tips and tricks from more experienced clown enthusiasts!

I made this blog to raise awareness for the rescue and to ask and answer questions from the wider community.

There’s nothing better than listening to a rodeo clowns harmonica on an early summer evening!

The clown pictured here’s name is Andy, and he’s been a resident of the rescue for going on 40 years now, he helps the newer rodeos get adjusted to captivity and loves to sit back and play a tune.

On occasion he also plays the spoons! He’s not much for tumbling around these days performing but he’s always glad for company.

Can anyone help me identify this little guy? This plumage looks jester to me but his ruff and markings are throwing me off.

(For some context, we picked this guy up from an abandoned theater that used to have shows with “live fools and harlequins” in the 70s, very illegal, cruel stuff.

I think some of the clowns may have been dumped after the place went bankrupt,

but it’s been so long, and fools are practically extinct, so I have no clue if this guy is even related to the theater.)

Happy one year rescue anniversary coming up for these two!

I’ve recently taken in a bonded pair of scare clowns that were found injured in an abandoned theme park.

We’ve dubbed them spot and blot.

If any scareclown enthusiasts could chime in with how to prepare a tent for these two I’d be very grateful!

(Their colors and markings seem to have faded from malnutrition, hopefully we’ll get these guys back to full health in no time!)

Happy (almost) one year anniversary for spot and blot! They have made amazing progress in the past year and I’m so proud of how far they’ve come.

They have a clean bill of health and will be put up for fostering in January!

Gilly: “I’m glad we have the money but…”

Gilly’s co-worker stands up fully, pants chain clinking gently

Ash: “My guess was always hush money, like from the government.”

Ash refuses to elaborate.

Quick question for supranational artifact collectors.

Are haunted dolls usually evil? Can they be benevolent? How can you tell if a doll is um..actually haunted?

I’m looking for one to add to spot and blot (my scareclowns) tent, and I don’t want to in danger them!

They usually aren’t evil but you can try to communicate with them to check! And clowns typically enjoy the presence of clown dolls !!
