This post was made to make the event easier to navigate for newcomers, myself, and @proximasc0rner. This blog has and will contain topics like chronic pain, gore, casual murder, discomfort in human bodies, and different forms of child abuse. This even has been going on for nearly a year (Dec. 1 2024 as of making this) and I am extremely proud of how far it’s come, thank you to my many roleplay partners and the ones who let me bounce ideas off them.

Through the new connectionary link, the girl on the other end relaxes. Something opens to Webby. Not the mindscape, this is surface level by comparison. It's a dream. The door is open if she wants to look inside.

Webby blows out a sigh, feeling a relaxation that isn’t hers. As much as it’s appreciated, she notices the opening and invitation. Webby scuttles back on her eight legs and hisses, somewhat on instinct, before almost forcing herself into that relaxed state. She was no longer in that mindscape. All was well. At the very least, this was an opportunity to see Opal. Webby reluctantly closes her eyes, letting the connection lead her.

Along the thread, Opal planned inside her dreams of freedom and reunion with her departed friend. When her eye would see again, and her arm could reach the same length as the other.

Contented planning on how she'd meet him.

Weeks.

Weeks pass and nothing changes.

Wake, pain, drink, sleep.

Say something to someone.

Sleep the pain away.

Dream of freedom.

Wake to darkness.

The bandages come off. Light.

The eye is dead.

Opal will never have her right eye back. The tiny extra one is useless.

Blood drips into the plastic bag.

She drinks it. She drinks through half of her reserve supply of Blue.

The wound isn't closing.

Opal will bleed out forever. Slowly, drip by drip. The silent drops of her life tick away. She feels it in her skin. A hateful slug laying eggs that take some of her and fall out, plop. Plop. Plop. Drop by drop.

Slowly dying.

No one is around to help.

She steals her friends drugs and starts taking them when Marceggle is asleep.

They don't help.

Her dreams are gray voids of emptiness, slowly filling with her blood. Drop by drop.

Her eye is gone. Drip, drip, drip.

Her arm bleeds. Drop, drop, drop.

Her mouth is carved on one side, smiling and talking only bring more pain. Tick, tick, tick.

Counting down.

She needs to do something.

Janet looks over at the once again passed out child nearby. She'd barely stayed with them for an hour before sinking back into the world of unconsciousness. It was unsettling to say the least. Even with the years gone by since their last encounter... this wasn't right.

Of course Marceggle isn't worried, untrustworthy as they are. Not that trust means much outside her own marriage. The important thing was that Opal was still alive. That and they were able to sync the time streams soon.

Mouse was waiting back home for them.

It was nice to be in a fresh world, a new set of townies to play with. Balis Did love to watch her work. They could drum up a little fun while they waited.

The world felt empty sometimes. Janet looked back wistfully on her old romps with her Lord around the towns.

Love was worth it.

Balis reached for a fresh peach and set it down in front of him. It soon vanished and a sweet little squelching sound was heard from inside his head. "You should have one, much better than the apple trees."

"Coming dear."

Balis coyly pulled her dress up under the guise of helping her into a chair. She poked his shoulder with a tendril and he snickered.

She looked at Opal one more time before turning to enjoy some not apple food.

Opal grunted in confusion and pushed herself the other way, bumping into yet another person.

"It's alright, it's just Janet and I." Balis? How was he here?

Opal felt around for a hand and took it. "What's going on?"

Janet massaged her hand and pulled her to sit on the edge of the large wooden footstool. "We were going to ask you that. Did you perhaps dream about us?"

Opal was still tired and the haze of pain was worse than ever. "No, I didn't dream."

"Well, you opened a portal and we came through."

Opal groaned and pushed herself free to dramatically fall on the floor. "ANOTHER THING WRONG WITH ME NOW?"

- white doesnt exist as an actual coat color. its either a pattern, or not white. "white" horses are either grey or cream genetically, and you can tell based on their eye color! blue means theyre cream, others mean theyre grey.

- theres a color called smokey black that you can't see. smokey black and normal black look the exact same, they're only different genetically

- if a horse runs too fast for too long its lungs might start to bleed

- horses are sometimes born with "fairy fingers". dont look this uo if youre squeamish they look gross as hell- its basically little fleshy worms on the bottom of their hooves.

Hey there! I was reading back on this blog and I have a question.

If Opal's wings are so sensitive, how was she able to hide them under a big coat?

Grounded opal:

"It's a bit of magic I figured out. Gigs gave me the ability to wear clothes by making my wings incorporeal when my intent is to put on a shirt or something of that sort. So where the fabric is, the wing isn't able to feel. I tricked the magic into allowing me to keep them covered."

She sighed and looked at her friend, who groaned and clutched their chest. Opal frowned. "But...there isn't much point to that. I can't get people to like me as a human very well." She put on a brave face. "I won't give up! I'm going to be human again. I'll be close enough, and they'll accept me! I just need to work a little harder and humanity will like me again."

Marceggle says its been three days but I can't tell. I want to see things. Can you make that happen? I didn't have any alcohol today. I just need to see something." Her tone betrays a childlike fear. Of the dark? Maybe. Of being alone in the dark? Could be.

"I can pay you. Look, I have drugs to give you if you help me."

Opal follows the voice and pushes the bowl out of the way. She sort of scoots towards it. Crawling would be easier, but she doesn't do it. "Thank you. You can have the needle ones anyways." She turns her head away. "Marceggle is scary when they use them. I don't want them here when I can't see."

After a second of emptying out the various needles of different sizes, and drug content, Opal sits criss cross. "What can you do?"

"You said you wanted to see things, right? That might be a hallucinogen you're looking for. If you don't want needle injections, I won't give you none. I've got smokers, pills, inhalants, stuff like that. And..."

[He sighs and eyes the needles.]

"...most people get scary when they take these things. That's why I always give it to them when they're alone."

"People are already scared of me." Opal remarked.

She tried to figure out what would work best. "I don't need to breathe, or not enough that I seem to. Maybe I do once in awhile. Not sure... what stuff goes into the body like absorbing? That's how I work." She pulled out a small ornament shaped glass bottle. The liquid inside glowed blue, like the blood inside the bag secured to her arm stump. "What I drink is super fast absorbed. I drink more blue so I have enough blood."

"Is there stuff like that?"

Snigbopple smiles and waves from his book. "Many! I am friends with lots of creatures across the invisible stars. My little human friend helped me meet them. I call her little mush sometimes. Well, a Waylon house was never a bad option.

She ran up the hill to it and knocked. "Hello? Anyone inside?" She kept her eyes on the windows and ears out for breaking glass or creaking wood. This was just a job. No hard feelings friend, this was how it had to be.

All she had to do was find out if Opal was here. Gigs would do the rest. It would be fine. Opal was healthier now, off the alcohol. Gigs was just...trying to help.

Bemmdroid brushed off her fur. It's just her job.

It's not far from the woods either, usually, and the pot farms can vary in distance, but here's a place they go to smoke. That, or I find Homeless Ted again hiding out." Bemmdroid unhooks the springs in her legs and gains an extra foot of height. It looks silly, but she handles it with the confidence of a bored barista.

Plus, she didn't really want to send him seizing on the floor. The noise would be a dead giveaway if Opal really was hiding in here. "Why can't I look around? Or ask your brothers about her?"

Weirdly she was always complaining about being too hot, though. Maybe the house was too warm. But looking for air disturbances did. Nothing in this room. Even looking low, no sign of her. "So, how long have you been living in unsold property?" Try not to be a dick, you're invading their home. Try to have simple conversation.

An open pullout couch rests in the foyer. It’s the only modern thing and the blankets and pillows strewn on it are a mess. A stuffed toy goat sits on the edge and an equally as discarded pillow fort rests against a wall. Boxes of canned food lay around. For some reason, an abundance of brand new looking items, from pans to books, cover the floor near one of the hallways.

A few weeks. We got kicked out.

He doesn’t even have to think about the truthful lie.

"Rough. What kind of parent tosses all the kids at once? You said you had brothers here." She headed for the stairs. They probably weren't safe, but she was light. The stairs held up just fine. "So, have you mapped this place out yet? Just so you know, there's a bunch of freaky secrets in here. Be careful what you touch if you reach through a hole in the wall." Bemmdroid did not care about telling people things she shouldn't. She'd never see these people again anyways. She changed her eye sight again along with some of her body proportions.

Her back opened to allow the leg parts to switch out for stronger ones without pressing into anything. The gear system was rather pretty, and the wires were well placed to stay out of harm. She was an impressive bit of machinery.

She walked from room to room as she talked. "Huge explosion in this one office. Yellow like a beehive. I jumped out the window before I saw how it ended. Bad idea. Next thing I knew? I was on a work table in some rural out of town house, and I had a bunch of sick upgrades."

"I'm never working an office job again. It's a real killer." She snickered to herself.

An open pullout couch rests in the foyer. It’s the only modern thing and the blankets and pillows strewn on it are a mess. A stuffed toy goat sits on the edge and an equally as discarded pillow fort rests against a wall. Boxes of canned food lay around. For some reason, an abundance of brand new looking items, from pans to books, cover the floor near one of the hallways.
