💜 – Michael quietly awaits the phantom’s response, his hands intertwined with each other.

He hopes it didn’t take offense to any of the utter gibberish he just let free from his voice box. He really doesn’t want to get on this spirit’s bad side, he needs an ally in this escapade of his; his sister wasn’t an option anymore. He didn’t know who else to go to, his options were few and far between.

All he knew about them was that they were looked to as a leader by the children and that they had given them “life”, and for this he was be sure to be nothing but respectful.  “…beneath… my mask? Ah…” 

“You really don’t know who I am.” The rotting rabbit steps closer to the Marionette, his pinpricks of light peering into its own.

“My name is Michael. I was once… an Afton,” he spits the word out, as if even uttering the surname he once shared with that vile C̢̢͟R͠E͏A̕TUR̢͜E of a man left a sour taste of equally sour memories in his mouth. “…I received the punishment he was supposed to undergo. Trapped, in this suit,” his own calm disposition crumbles in that moment, a vengeance-made blend of misery and hatred seething through the crevices of his tone as he stares down at his hands and balls them into trembling fists.

“I’ve… gotten used to it by now, but that still doesn’t make things right. It wasn’t just me that he’s wronged so terribly. You’re… interested, correct?” He almost considers offering the Marionette his hand in some sort of truce, but he found it a little too cheesy. 

   In all honesty, he dreaded the day it would come to this. He didn’t want blood on his hands.

However, he was getting tired of the reality weighing on him now and then that William was probably just sitting idly, with no punishment for his vices. Sitting there. Scott-free, while Michael is out here rotting. If no one else was going to do it, it was going to have to be him.

      At least he wouldn’t have to watch the life drain from his father’s eyes alone.

Even if it wasn’t going to set Michael free… William deserves some sort of consequence for all of this. He still wasn’t sure what that consequence was going to be. Other than death, probably.

“I won’t force you to join me in vengeance, of course. It’s your own decision to make. But… I think some proper justice to this situation is long overdue, yes?” He knows he just stopped himself from doing this because he thought that it was cheesy, but he’s just… going to quietly offer his hand now. “…do you… have a name, or anything?”

  The Marionette’s disposition seems to shift upon hearing Michael’s name, long-drowned memories flooding back-- four children, all playing and laughing, having so much fun-- before the catalyst of all this tragedy began.

  It remembers fondly the time it spent as a child, laughing and playing, loving the animatronics she watched her father create with that delightful Mr. Afton. It was the best life she could have lived, surrounded by the Afton children she spent so much time with, until she became the first of so many victims to this franchise’s curse.

  Michael in particular was funny to her-- his goofy masks and odd behavior. She never knew why he became so hostile to his little brother, but she wasn’t around to watch him give poor Thomas a front-row-seat to Fredbear. That was probably for the best.

  The Marionette is noticeably lost in thought, apparently uncharacteristically caught off-guard by his words and only barely catching all else that was said. It returns to reality just in time for him to extend his hand, and it stares at him for a long moment.

  “You... are Michael Afton? Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t recognize you...” It laughs softly. “I am interested, yes... My name?” It grows somber. “I guess I am hard to recognize like this, as well. What an ironic tragedy.”

  Its long, slender fingers gently wrap around the offered hand. “I was once known as Charlie. I was Henry’s daughter, before your father’s first slaughter.” It laughs again. “You are just as enthusiastic as I remember you, Michael.”

  A bell jingles softly as the Security Puppet waves to one of the many children in the establishment, the young boy running off with one of the many prizes they have stashed in their box. They lean back, ‘standing’ upright in their box [if they truly stood, they would be towering rather scarily above the children, so they kneel instead] and surveying the room.

  So very busy today, they ponder, as they make sure each child has their colored wristband on. The bands help the Puppet keep track of the children-- they don’t have to perform a manual head count, unlike someone else here.

  Speak of the Devil...

  They turn their head, staring hollowly at Circus Baby. Despite her demeanor, the Puppet can’t help but feel bad for the poor girl.

  “Hello to you, too, Circus Baby.” They reply, and despite their sass their voice holds no malice. “Watching is my job. I watch the children to keep them safe. I also distribute prizes.” They pick up a prize from their box-- a little pencil topper in the shape of Baby’s face-- and hold it out for her to see.

  “What can I do for you?” They ask, putting the topper back in their box.

          The child had been loitering about that giant present box; away from the crowds & away from those animatronics he HATED. Does he know what’s lurks beneath that gift ? Oh, he’s more than aware. Yet, the truth doesn’t keep him away; it only keeps him in place until the box opened up. He hesitates; not speaking until SPOKEN TO & when he does, it’s in a timid voice.

           ༺｡*☆*｡༻  ┃ ┃ ‘ —— S-Sure —— i-if you want —— ’

        Slowly; he approaches —— not too close but not too far from the box. This ANIMATRONIC —— it was —— 「 somewhat 」okay.  Was the child intimidated ? Always. There would never be a moment when the child wasn’t at least a little scared 「 Big brother & Daddy made that certain. 」. Somehow though —— the Marionette was different. Yes, they loomed over him in a creepy manner but —— at least they know when to think; when to back off & stop spouting the same UNNERVING phrases unlike the other animatronics.

          ༺｡*☆*｡༻  ┃ ┃ ‘ —— I-I don’t wanna talk to the other kids             —— & I don’t wanna talk to Fredbear or his scary friends. ——             They don’t LIKE me.  ’

  The Marionette listens quietly and attentively to the child’s plight, taking in each detail of his body language and inflection. Clearly, this child is quite afraid, though anyone could tell that-- it was now, of course, the Puppet’s job to alleviate this stress, and place the relief of safety into his heart. That has been its job since the day it awoke.

  It tries to make itself seem smaller, so that it doesn’t loom so frighteningly over Riley. It offers a gentle hand, something to hold onto for comfort, though it doesn’t force Riley to touch it.

  “I promise Fredbear and his friends won’t come over here.” The Puppet reassures him, though it can’t fight it’s own curiosity. “And the other kids will leave you be if you are by my side. But, why do you think Fredbear and his friends don’t like you?”

“Well, I was kinda curious about something. Do you usually get visitors over here?” It didn’t seem like any of the other children wanted to stay over here. They mostly just wanted the prizes, but there was something about this Marionette that Fink liked, she just couldn’t figure out what.

  The Marionette listens intently to Fink’s question. It wasn’t exactly deep or demanding of strict attention to answer, but it felt that respecting the words of a child, no matter how trivial, was important.

  “I receive many visitors. Children of all sorts come here for prizes from me. I am less strict over who I give them to.” It sounds almost mischievous, as though taking a jab at the actual person who runs the Prize Corner. In reality, it truly is less strict-- it will give prizes to children who have no tickets at all to exchange, should they have good reason to receive one.
