Random thought.. I feel like Gilbert knows lots of words but pronounces a good amount of them wrong, because he's read alot of books but hasn't really said them out loud..
He'd confidently pronounce "epitome" as "epee-tome" while doing a class reading and Serge has to whisper to Gilbert that that's not how it's pronounced.
yeah and then he gets mad and smacks him from under the table because how dare he correct him. obviously ...

according to serge he gets lost in the crowd easily (trauma response basically, making oneself smaller to prevent problems with your main abuser)
and he also gets mad at board games and cusses people out
he's clearly not a pacifist, he's violent he just doesn't perform that. it's a bit hard to differentiate gilbert from the traumatized version of him that occupies like 99% of our mind
