The arc of the First Sanson with Marguerite Jounne would’ve been fascinating if it was focused on how the Memoirs were only as Charles I perceived them and how men view women who go against the grain as the downfall of society. Basically he viewed Marguerite as a buxom evil seductress and that he didn’t truly raped her - Oh no, Marguerite only pretended to be asleep and actually wanted Charles I - It was all part of Marguerite’s plan to drag someone else down with her loneliness! (Why else would Charles I suddenly go into a rage and choke Marguerite to death?)

But then it cuts to the same events but from Marguerite’s perspective, showing the audience that she was only a teenager, trapped by the adult men around her, and that whatever small attempts she’s made for her own autonomy culminated with Charles I killing her.

Sometimes I completely forget that Antoinette was forced to watch a couple have sex (presumably servants) as Maria Theresa's way of "educating" her daughter on her role of bearing a potential heir for France. Again, trauma that's never explored ever!

"i went through a month of being raped, my brother died, and i made a contract with a demon who is supposed to devour my soul. nothing worse can happen to me" and then his aunt tries to kill him because she turns out to be a serial killer, and his job is to catch her, and she dies in front of his eyes, and he joins the circus to infiltrate a group kidnapping children, and their father is a guy who wanted to be one of those who tried to use him, but he failed because he was chained to a bed, but he still triggers his ptsd, and he has to kill all the kidnapped children because they won’t be able to deal with the trauma after the events they went through, and the queen finds out so as punishment she tries to frame him for murder, and a circus boy tries to kill him, and suddenly it turns out his enemy is a bunch of zombies, but he survives and his reliable demon turns out to be more vulnerable than he imagined and one of the few people who knew his father closely turns against him, and when he carries out further orders from the queen he almost dies twice, first from gas poisoning and then from being crushed by a tank, and when he returns to england his fiancée runs away from home and doesn’t want to come back, and his friend’s servant dies and his friend will never be the same again, so basically he lost him, and all of that because he couldn’t tell him clearly enough not to interfere in his affairs and he will feel guilt about it for the rest of his life, and in the manor it turns out his brother was resurrected and frames him for murders and takes his property, his title and his fiancée and he is forced to run away, and when he finally thinks he can peacefully conduct his investigation his false identity is exposed from the very beginning and he is in a place where others know more about him than he knows about them, and a strange guy appears who knows sebastian is a demon, and suddenly the queen appears and he is probably like a trapped mouse in a room where cats are waiting for him to be within reach, and his name isn’t even ciel phantomhive.

JOKE-OGRAPHY:

In this Bible story, Jesus is giving the disciples a sense of assurance before His passion and death. He explains He'll be leaving them soon, but once He's gone, He'll send them a paraclete (or an advocate) to guide them to the truth until He returns. This paraclete is understood to be the Holy Spirit, Who comes to the disciples as tongues of fire after Jesus's ascension to heaven.

Jesus's line in the first panel of this cartoon is a direct quote from John 14:20. The exact wording of the quote sounds a little like a paradox, since He says, "You are in me and I am in you," but Jesus is saying that the disciples will remain in His Body, the Church, and He will remain in the disciples' hearts in spirit.

In this cartoon, Peter's reaction to Jesus's apparent paradox is a full-on mental breakdown as he imagines him being within Jesus while Jesus is within him while he is within Jesus and so on and so on into maddening infinity. This is, mathematically, very funny and simply the cleverest.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is yet another "Tomics Resurrection," where I take an old cartoon and make it new. The old version is from about 9 years ago -- crazy! -- but while the character designs and colors in the new version have been updated to match my evolved style, the writing and pacing of the comic have remained substantially the same. So you realize that the old is in the same script and the new is in the old and the old is in the new.
