Katniss doesn’t recognize herself in the mirror before her. Every little stitch and seam are perfect, and the way Cinna had requested Katniss’ makeup be done brings emphasis to all of her features. Again, Cinna has made her gorgeous. His interference with the mirror is a relief to Katniss. She doesn’t want to keep looking at herself anymore. His presence is comforting and calming. He is one of the people she can truly call a friend. 

“I don’t know how you do it,” she breathes in disbelief, a smile of her own growing upon her glossy lips.

Another smile is playing at Cinna’s lips, but he bites it back, humming in approval as he circles the girl, making sure that every single thread was in its proper place. He was a perfectionist, near to a fault, but what he earned from this was a habit of creating things. Beautiful things. It was easy for someone to take the beauty before them and glamour it up, as many of his peers were quite used to working for Districts that afforded such qualities from an early age. Cinna paid no mind to these, for he knew that true beauty was not something that was found so easily. It was buried deep within, and it was his job to dig it out, piece by  g r u e l i n g  piece. Finding perfection in imperfection, in the most beautiful way. “We all have our gifts Katniss,” he breathed, coming to pause in front of her. Golden eyeliner glittered about his lids, accentuating the golden flecks in his green hues as he lifts her chin to meet his gaze. “There it is. That smile. Be sure to give them that one, not the fake capitol one that you’ve been practicing. They are sure to love you.”
