Oh Allah, we ask You to bless our families, and to keep us connected with love and mercy, and to fill our homes with joy and happiness.

Oh Allah, we seek refuge in You from broken families, from being abused or the abuser, and from the trauma of toxic households.

Oh Allah, allow us to be patient with limitations of our bodies, and allow us to be grateful for the health you have bestowed upon us.

Oh Allah, beautify our souls, make our concern the beauty of our character.

Oh Allah, as you made us beautiful in appearance, make our inside even more beautiful.

Oh Allah, grant us contentment in poverty, and gratitude in wealth.

Oh Allah, enrich us with pure wealth that we use in Your path, and to enjoy Your blessings without extravagance.

Oh Allah, increase our knowledge and faith, and grant us firm conviction.

Oh Allah, grant us the righteous spouses, and fill our relationships with love, mercy, and tranquility, and make our families the coolness of our eyes.

Oh Allah, put us back together when we are broken, heal us when we are sick, and grant us companionship when we are lonely.

Oh Allah, grant us an honorable mention in the generations to come, and bless us with a lasting legacy.

Oh Allah, cause us to age through Islam, and protect us from the trials of old age.

Oh Allah, make our gray hairs a light for us in the next life that testify to our iman.

Oh Allah, grant us a good ending, and make the last words in this earth, La ilaha illallah.

Oh Allah, ease the suffering of the believers all over the world. Fulfill their needs, repay their debts, shelter the homeless, heal the sick, bring relief to those in distress, stop their oppressors and end their oppression, guide those who are lost, and give light to those who are in the darkness.

Oh Allah, grant us certainty that empowers us to face adversity with resilience, to overcome our obstacles, to illuminate the darkness with the light of our faith, and allow us to truly see the light of our decree.

kamu tidak lagi meminta kekuatan, kesabaran, keikhlasan, rasa syukur, atau ketenangan hati. urusan dunia tidak lagi membebanimu, tidak lagi membuatmu gelisah.

pada suatu hari nanti, hari kamu bertemu dengan Allah, yang kamu minta hanyalah ampunannya, maafnya, rahmatnya. yang kamu inginkan hanya taubatmu diterima, amalmu disyukuri, luka-lukamu menghapus dosa.

​Seni Merayakan Langkah Kecil

Salah satu problem terbesar dalam hidup kita itu terkadang malah lebih fokus terhadap capaian orang lain. Sesuatu yang lebih fundamental, esensial untuk kita perhatikan dan ibrahi di setiap perjalanannya yaitu proses berkembangnya diri, justru abai bahkan 'jahat' terhadapnya. Seolah apa yang kita upayakan dan hasil yang didapatkan, tidak cukup menjadi bukti bahwa bukan hanya orang lain yang juga berjuang, namun kita juga.

Hal itulah yang juga akhirnya membuat kita jadi nggak utuh dalam memahami skenario misterius yang Allah hadirkan dan porsikan terhadap pada setiap insan. Ketika ditimpa ketertundaan, kita menganggap diri kita payah, ketika hasil tidak sesuai yang diharapkan menganggap diri bodoh dan tak berdaya.

Kita menjadi hanya fokus mengutuki pada hasil-hasil dzahir yang mampu dilihat oleh mata, tetapi lupa bahwa hasil hari ini adalah rangkaian proses yang telah kita lakukan sebelumnya, yang bahkan tidak sedikit juga yang telah dikorbankan, dan yang lebih parah adalah kita melupakan bahwa Allah memiliki takdir yang lebih arif dan bijaksana, daripada sebatas penilaian manusia yang jauh dari dua kata itu.

Maka dari itu, jika boleh urun nasihat. Jangan sampai laku tindak kita terdikte oleh manusia. Sebatas kita melangkah karena dorongan ingin membuktikan diri, mencari validasi, atau sekadar merespons pencapaian orang lain, sejatinya kendali hati kita masih dipegang oleh manusia.

Bebaskanlah diri dari belenggu itu, cukup Allah sebagai satu-satunya alasan dan muara, sehingga seberat atau seringan apa pun proses yang sedang kita lalui, semuanya utuh kita jalani karena-Nya, bukan karena manusia.

Sebagai penutup, untuk siapa pun yang hari ini merasa langkahnya tertunda, yang sedang bertanya-tanya kapan giliran saya tiba coba untuk berdamailah dengan waktumu sendiri. Berhenti menyiksa diri dengan komparasi. Hal yang harus kita lakukan saat ini adalah menundukkan kepala, kembali merapikan niat, dan meneruskan pekerjaan-pekerjaan kecil yang ada di depan mata dengan hati yang penuh penerimaan dan orientasi lurus kepada-Nya.

Your Du’as Can Change the Worlds

Our worlds are connected. Du’as and deeds flow through. And the transmission of news, while sometimes a bit fuzzy, doesn’t mean that we’re not deeply impacting one another across that barrier. When you’re making du’a, you are invoking Rabb al-‘Alamin, the Lord of the worlds. So your du’a isn’t limited in impact to this world. It can change someone else’s in the Barzakh.

How often do you make du’a for your parents or your loved ones? Once a day, once a week, once a year? Just it like it may only seem like we increase our du’as in Ramadan, it may feel like that on the other side, too. What does a du’a drought look like in the Barzakh? And how much impact does your du’a really have for someone in that world? There’s a narration that states that “The du’a is the weapon of the believer.” And we often think about it exclusively in this dunya. But what if your du’a could be a weapon for the people in their graves? What if it’s a shield that’s given to someone just when the punishment is about to reach them? Ahmed Ibn Yahya says that “One of my companions said to me, ‘My brother died.’ And then I saw him in a dream where I asked him, ‘In what condition were you in the moment that we placed you in your grave?’ And he said to me, ‘Someone came to me carrying a torch. And had it not been for that du’a of one of you, he was about to set me fire.’” Amr Ibn Jareer Rahimahullah said, “When one supplicates for his deceased brother, an angel comes to his grave with that du’a and says, ya sahibul kabir al gareeb. Hadiyatun min ahkin alayka shaqeeq. “Oh, accupant of the grave. This is a gift from a brother who cares about you.”

And as you look forward to your most precious night in Ramadan, to make all those special du’as for yourself, don’t forget those precious souls that are hoping you’ll remember them that night as well.

Once, my dream wore the robes of academia.

I imagined myself before rows of adult minds, in a grand hall with a name that echoed prestige—just like the dreams my friends were living.

But Allah wrote a quieter chapter for me.

Instead of scholars, He gave me small hands to hold. Not university seats, but tiny chairs. Not lectures, but laughter that slips through the cracks of my weariness and stitches patience back into my heart, one giggle at a time.

I do not know what success is supposed to look like in this season. Its shape is still folded in the Unseen, hidden in a destiny only He can read.

So I walk the path He lays, crayon-stained and sacred, trusting that where He plants me is where I’m meant to bloom.

My prayer is simple, and it is everything:

Let me succeed in this world without failing in the next. Let me be faithful to this ground, until He writes me a new one.

(Ketika Lupa Rasanya Pernah Mengangguk di Hadapan Tuhan)

Ada satu hal yang diam-diam sering kita lupakan: sehat itu bukan keadaan normal. Sehat itu hadiah.

Kita baru sadar ketika tubuh memberi jeda. Ketika napas terasa mahal, ketika langkah kaki yang biasanya ringan tiba-tiba butuh dituntun, ketika doa kita menyempit jadi satu kalimat: “Asal bisa pulang saja.”

Di titik itu, semua ambisi dunia mendadak sunyi. Yang tersisa hanya syukur yang terlambat.

1. Kita Pernah Berjanji, Lalu Sengaja Dibuat Lupa

Al-Qur’an mengabadikan sebuah percakapan purba. Sebelum rahim, sebelum nama, sebelum apa pun. Allah mengumpulkan seluruh jiwa, lalu bertanya:

“Alastu bi rabbikum?” – Bukankah Aku ini Tuhanmu? QS. Al-A’raf: 172

Dan semua menjawab tanpa ragu: “Balaa syahidna” – Benar, kami bersaksi.

Itu kontrak pertama manusia. Kita menerima peran sebagai hamba, sebagai penjaga bumi, sebagai makhluk yang diuji. Langit dan gunung menolak karena takut tak sanggup. Manusia yang menerima QS. Al-Ahzab: 72.

Lalu kenapa kita tak ingat? Karena ujian harus murni. Kalau ingat, tak ada yang berani lalai. Tak ada yang berani sombong. Semua sujud bukan karena cinta, tapi karena sudah lihat spoiler surga dan neraka.

Maka ingatan itu dihapus. Yang tersisa hanya fitrah.

2. Lalu Untuk Apa Semua Ilmu dan Kerja Keras Kita?

Jika kontrak awalnya adalah menjadi hamba dan khalifah, maka semua bekal yang kita punya adalah alatnya.

Ilmu adalah cara kita membaca ayat Tuhan.

QS. Ali Imran: 190 bilang, pada penciptaan langit dan bumi ada tanda-tanda bagi orang berakal. Bagi yang mau berpikir, rumitnya satu sel saja sudah cukup membuat kita berkata: “Mustahil ini kebetulan”. Makin dalam kita belajar, makin jelas tanda tangan-Nya.

Tugas kita: menerjemahkannya agar orang lain ikut takjub.

Kerja adalah cara kita menjaga bumi.

QS. Al-A’raf: 56 melarang membuat kerusakan setelah bumi diatur dengan baik. Maka siapa pun yang bekerja mengurangi racun di tanah, menjaga satu spesies dari punah, memastikan air tetap layak minum, dia sedang menjalankan amanah khalifah. Tak harus di hutan. Bisa di laboratorium, di meja rapat, di tulisan yang mencegah orang membuang limbah sembarangan.

Manfaat adalah ukuran kemuliaan.

“Khoirunnas anfa’uhum linnas”. Sebaik-baik manusia adalah yang paling bermanfaat. Maka nilai kerja kita bukan dari gelar atau gaji, tapi dari seberapa banyak masalah orang lain yang selesai karena kita ada. Menyembuhkan, mengenyangkan, mencerdaskan, menenangkan. Itu semua ibadah.

Niat mengubah segalanya.

Pekerjaan yang sama bisa bernilai langit dan bumi hanya karena niat. Menyusun laporan dengan jujur, meneliti tanpa manipulasi data, menulis agar orang tak salah paham. Itu bentuk syukur atas akal dan waktu yang dititipkan. QS. At-Takatsur:8 mengingatkan: kita akan ditanya tentang semua nikmat.

3. Menangis Itu Manusiawi, Lupa Itu Bahaya

Apakah salah jika kita sedih, lelah, mengeluh? Tidak.

Nabi Ya’qub menangis hingga buta karena kehilangan anaknya.

Nabi Muhammad meneteskan air mata saat Ibrahim, putranya, wafat.

Yang membedakan adalah arahnya. Menangis sambil mengakui “aku hamba, Engkau Tuhanku” itu tanda hati masih hidup. Menangis sambil menyalahkan takdir itu tanda kita lupa kontrak.

Kita tidak akan pernah ingat 100% apa yang terjadi di alam ruh. Tapi kita bisa dilatih untuk tidak amnesia terlalu lama.

Caranya tiga saja:

a. Tukar “Kenapa aku” menjadi “Apa yang mau diajarin”

b. Ingat skala waktu. Nabi mengumpamakan dunia seperti orang berteduh sebentar di bawah pohon, lalu lanjut jalan. Masa kita mau menghabiskan waktu berteduh hanya untuk marah pada panas?

c. Latih kalimat “untung masih…”

Untung masih bisa kecewa, tanda harapan masih ada.

Untung masih bisa lelah, tandanya badan masih diberi kekuatan.

Kontak Itu Masih Berlaku.

Kita semua sudah menekan tombol “Setuju” di hadapan Tuhan. Buktinya kita ada di sini. Menyesali kenapa dulu mengangguk sudah terlambat. Satu-satunya pilihan adalah menepati.

Setiap napas yang tidak nyeri, setiap langkah yang tidak dipapah, setiap suap makanan yang tidak mual, adalah pengingat: kontraknya masih jalan.

Ilmu yang kita punya, pekerjaan yang kita lakukan, tenaga yang masih tersisa, adalah modal untuk membayarnya. Bukan dengan sempurna, tapi dengan sungguh-sungguh.

Karena kelak, saat semua sunyi, kita akan ditanya bukan tentang apa yang belum kita dapat, tapi tentang apa yang sudah kita buat dengan semua yang sudah diberi.

Dan semoga saat itu, kita bisa menjawab: “Aku ingat janjiku, ya Allah. Meski sering lupa, aku coba tepati.”

Rumah sakit memang tempat paling jujur buat ngajarin kita soal nikmat.

Kenapa pas sehat kita malah lupa?

Karena otak manusia emang didesain begitu. Ada 3 jebakan yang bikin kita “buta nikmat”:

1. Hedonic Treadmill = kita cepet adaptasi

Dapat sehat rasanya kayak dapat HP baru. Minggu pertama seneng banget. Minggu ketiga? Udah biasa. Otak nganggap “sehat” itu default, bukan hadiah.

Makanya yang kerasa cuma hilangnya. Pas pilek baru sadar nikmatnya bisa napas lega. Pas opname baru sadar nikmatnya bisa jalan ke warung sendiri.

Sehat itu silent. Gak ada notifikasi. Gak ada drama. Jadi gampang ke-skip.

2. Negativity Bias = otak lebih peka sama ancaman

Dari zaman purba, yang selamat itu yang fokus ke “bahaya”. Ada semak goyang = lari dulu, mikir kemudian.

Hasilnya sekarang: otak 3x lebih nempel sama masalah daripada nikmat.

Kewajiban nempel. Jerawat nempel. Tapi nikmat bisa bangun pagi, bisa ngunyah bakso, bisa ketawa? Kelewat.

Di RS baru “dipaksa” lihat: oh ternyata bisa kencing tanpa selang itu mewah.

3. Dunia ini panggung iklan

Tiap buka HP/sosmed isinya orang: liburan, mobil baru, achievement. Standar “Bahagia” digeser terus.

Jadinya sehat doang berasa kurang. Harus sehat + kaya + aesthetic + healing ke Swiss baru “cukup” (misalnya).

Padahal di RS, semua pangkat, followers, saldo, gak ada artinya. Yang ditunggu cuma: “Hasil lab-nya bagus ya, Pak.”

Tanpa disadari, udah dikasih “sekolah kilat” sama Allah lewat RS. Sakit itu guru paling keras tapi paling jujur. Yang penting sekarang: ilmunya jangan ilang pas udah sehat lagi.

Karena nikmat sehat itu kayak oksigen. Gratis, gak kelihatan, tapi sekali dicabut baru panik.

Semoga semua yang sakit cepet pulih ya.

For those who pray for each other, even just by asking for the forgiveness of the believing men and women, there is an unimaginably big impact across time and space. One day, you’ll meet those who prayed for you. And even if you never met in this life, the bond you share as members of the same ummah is unbreakable.

Best Friends Forever

After Birr-al-Walidayn, when it comes to your connection with people, the most important relationships are those what are forget for the sake of Allah.

Barzakh is where you connect back to the family chosen for you in dunya and the friends that you chose in this dunya. And while you had no choice in the family that was given to you in this dunya, you choose who your friends are going to be in the Barzakh. You are the author of your Barzakh, remember?

The people you choose to spend your time with, that’s who’s going to be your company in the Barzakh and everything beyond.

“A person will be with those whom they love.” This means we can expect to be with those we chose to admire or accompany, from our closest companions to the celebrities that we follow online.

You will be on the deen of your closest friends, so be careful who you choose to be close with. And even if your friend is a Muslim, are they at the level you want to be? You can either be lifted up by them or dragged down by them.

But those that chose to come together for the sake of Allah, like working on a dawah project, or feeding the homeless, or standing up for justice together, or maybe studying the deen together, or helping each other improve in their personal worship, then this light that they gathered here will illuminate their graves together.

Your Loved Ones Never Left You

“And when you used to visit me frequently, I would be comforted by your presence and I would be delighted by it. Even my neighbours in the graveyard would feel joy because of your du’a.”

And even if you can’t visit, your du’as and your deeds for your loved ones are for greater than any gift you could have given then in this life. You were given life in the womb of your mother and now you can give life to her grave with your du’a.

Why Allah Prescribes You Bitter Medicine

You can not escape pain. But you can turn it into a paradise. In this life, you’ll feel grief, loss, and agony.

But it maybe that Allah is delivering you through that pain to a place where your piety alone would’ve never been able to reach.

See sometimes Allah tests you so he can raise you to a place that you otherwise would not have been able to achieve.

Verily with Allah, there are levels that can not be attained, except with patience at times of trial and gratitude at times of prosperity. Patience and hardship is the key to levels in Jannah that ease could never unlock. Every trial you bear and every worship you meet with sabr, is drawing you closer to a reward that you couldn’t have earned in comfort. So as you reflect on what you’ve been through, have you thanked Allah for both the good and the bitter times? And have you thanked the people you gave the hardest time to when you were still growing up?

The Most Important Prayer of Your Life

You might wake up 10 minutes before Fajr, but decide to go back to sleep instead of praying that short tahajjud. You might have a few minutes before needing to go out to work, but instead of praying two rak’as of Duha, you think it’s not really worth it.

The two rak’ahs before Fajr are more beloved to Me and better than this entire world and what is in it (Sahih Muslim #725).

And I want you to think about how the people of Gaza pray literally between bombs, not knowing if they’re going to live to see the next salah. Imagine how Khushu you have in a tent of a refugee camp when your death is that near, and imagine how much peace it gives to the heart of someone who has nothing and no one else but Allah. But if you know your prayer enough, even if you have everything else, salah is still what your heart and soul crave. Remember how the Prophet SAW would say, Aarihna biha ya Bilal. “Comfort us with the prayer, O Bilal.” What if the prayer is still comfort in the grave? The scholars say that prayer was more beloved to the Prophet SAW than even his food and drink. So, even though He and the other Prophets don’t have to pray in the Barzakh anymore, they still want to. So, when the Prophet SAW was in the journey of al-Isra’ wal-Mi’raj, he passes by the grave of Musa AS and he says, “I saw him qayim yusaly.” “ I saw him standing up and praying in his grave.” What was that salah? The scholar say that that salah is not one that’s meant to increase your record, because you can’t do that anymore when you die, but it’s actually part of the reward for some of the righteous that Allah lets them still pray.

And the greatest act of worship to connect to Allah is your prayer. But sometimes, the greatest way for Allah to connect you to Him is through a difficult trial.

When The Qur’an Arrives in Your Grave

Others among us fall into rabbit holes of gossip, and social media, and all sorts of unnecessary information. If you’re not careful, these thoughts can consume not just your life, but your memorization of the Qur’an.

As for the rest of us, it has the potential to be what the Prophet SAW said: rabia qulubina wa nura sudurina. “The spring of our hearts, and the light in our chests.” On the other hand, the Prophet SAW said that “The one who has no Qur’an in his chest is like al-Bayt al-Kharib, a home in ruins.”

Your recitation of the Qur’an, and its presence in your heart, is the most precious asset you carry into the Barzakh. It’s your companion when you’re alone in your room, and now it’s your companion when you’re alone in your grave. Now this is the whole Qur’an, but there are certain parts of that are specific to protection from the punishment of the grave. And I want you to think about at night, as you’re about to go to sleep, but you choose to read Surat al-Mulk every night, Allah will protect him from the punishment of the grave.
