Today I woke up at 6:30 AM for clinical. I felt sleep all morning and feel like I just finally woke up. I went to the gym, cleaned the kitchen, showered, talked to my mom about home-birthing, and finished some homework.
I got my test results back from yesterday and I got an 88%!! It's not super great, I honestly thought I would do better. But I guess a lot of other people in my class did a lot poorly. I have been feeling really accomplished with school.
Nursing school is so complex and strict, so much harder than people realize.
this week I learned about ABG's (arterial blood gasses) and what it means when your body is in acidosis vs alkalosis. Respiratory acidosis for example occurs when you're breathing very slowly/ shallow and you aren't getting enough co2 out. It occurs when you take downers (such as opioids) but it even occurs when you're drinking!
I feel like every situation I'm in now I think about what its doing to our bodies on a cellular level. I wish I could talk to people more about medications and our body processes.
