So close to the due time of my last exam for my first year in college and I’m finding it difficult to get it done.
What do all of you do to motivate yourselves? What’s something you were told to try while cramming for finals?

I've been thinking a lot about society as of late, primarily social media. I haven't been on it much, a factor of being too busy and trying to actively monitor it still the phenomenon and the effects it has are more than enough to keep me awake at night. After all social media encompasses just about everything I despise (the attention economy, turning a lived life into a captured life, pop culture, unnecessarily inducing anxiety through overloading the senses etc.) and while I'm fairly certain I don't indulge nearly as much as my peers or the general public, the mere fact that I have not left it has been a painful hypocrisy I face daily.
Don't misunderstand me, this is all a personal conundrum. I do believe most people will benefit from deleting social media, specifically tiktok after a multitude of video essays I've watched, but I would never force it onto anyone. The freedom that I demand must also be given to others. Nonetheless, I wonder why I am still here. Why it is that I've outgrown social media (for it was often a vessel for the identity I was occupying at the moment which has now solidified into a concrete, though not unchanging, idea) and the language we use around social media, how we talk about the negative effects but never seem to realize them. How deeply embedded this recent phenomenon is and where it'll go in the future.
Perhaps one day I'll fade away and disappear, and another day I'll still be here. Perhaps in the end it doesn't matter and that's the beauty in it all.
Read this if you care about your friends <3
I turned 21 last Friday and I find it so interesting how our society completely praises the 21 year birthday. I have never gotten so many texts wishing me a happy birthday. Everyone was offering me drinks/ shots and I didn't pay a DIME (except when I wanted to buy pull tabs lmao). Drinking is highly encouraged and I think it's frightening that nobody seems to notice any bad habits involved??
We need to be aware of our buddies who are too drunk. PUKING SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED FUNNY... EVER... that's literally alcohol poisoning and so so bad for your body. the amount of times I've yelled at people for laughing at someone puking.. I most likely seem like a bitch to everyone but I don't fucking care. Puking shows poor self control and in my opinion shows a problem that should be addressed. If you're puking on a night out you very obviously either don't know how to read your body/ don't know your limit or you're self medicating!!!
We need to be aware of our buddies who drink TOO OFTEN. Even if you did just turn 21 you should not be buying bottles every week. Should not be drinking alone. This leads to alcoholism and causes your brain to literally SHRINK in size. We all have our drinking phases (if you don't that's great), but we need to be aware of how long these phases are or if there are any long breaks.
stay healthy friends !!
Seriously though
We need to normalize people with adhd that don't experience hyperactivity.
Adhd can also be people who experience having a busy mind but seem slow on the outside.
I only ever hear of the stereotype adhd as being energetic and fast paced but that is not always the case.. it's 100% dependent on the person.
The amount of times I've seen BS posts on social media on "how you know someone has adhd and how to be there for them". no thats not always how it is.. Adhd is a wide range of symptoms from either being very nonproductive, quiet, and what most people think as lazy --to being spontaneous, talkative, and aggressive.
Know the different types before you give information. This is why people are so commonly misdiagnosed in todays day of age is because of how social media portrays various mental health issues.
Squad goals
This was taken on our last day of high school. We wrote our last exam and then scampered off to the park for a picnic and to bask in the sunshine and freedom.
