I swear, I will protect you!
CHAPTER 01—Restroom Shenanigans.
If Ray Carter had to be summed up in one word, it would be dependable. Ray was the most devoted person anyone has ever met. He would do anything for his friends. When Robin wasn’t present, it was quite common to see him beating up Finney's bullies to defend him. It was also quite common to see him walking toward the restroom that was farthest from the nurse's office but closest to the art room while holding a first aid kit and wearing an exasperated expression, probably to patch up either Finney or Robin.
And lo and behold, that's where we can locate him, or rather, them, in that exact particular restroom. Ray is as exasperated as ever, but you can also detect a glimmer of humor in his eyes as he fixes a very proud Robin. That boy's face lacked all trace of shame. And Finney, the most sensitive of the three, is seen sitting on the grimy bathroom floor and watching as everything unfolds.
“Who was it this time, then?”
“Huh?” Robin questioned as Ray completes stitching him up, a sigh comes out of his mouth.
“Don't act stupid, you know what I'm asking,”
Robin merely grinned, understanding that Ray wasn't really upset with him; after all, he knew that Ray would have beat Moose by himself if he hadn't been there. At this point, everyone knew that nobody messes with Finney and gets away with it, which means some people are just born dumb.
“Just some hijo de puta that was talking shit”
Ray didn't even have to look up to understand exactly who Robin was referring about. It was well known that Robin only got into fights when someone he cared about was involved, but ever since he met Finney, he began to get into them more frequently. Although it's not Finney's fault, Ray and Robin sometimes wishes that Finney could defend himself, but until that time, they would always be there to watch out for him while patiently waiting for Finney to grow his own wings.
Sighing, Ray walks towards the sink to wash his bloody hands before looking expectantly towards Finney, who after seeing that specific look in his friend face knew it was his time to be questioned.
“So, would you mind explaining why you're here when you ought to be in class already?”
Finney only grinned awkwardly because he knew Ray would always be able to tell when he was lying, and he didn't want to risk receiving his friend's disappointed face for trying to keep something from him.
“He was being chased again by those three dumbasses”
Finney shoots a glare towards Robin and Robin sends a small smirk towards him, it was probably payback for that time when he snitched to Ray about how Robin actually got hurt that one time in May. It may not look like it, but Robin could hold a grudge for a long time, and while some would assume that he would forget or beat you for it, he usually just waits into he sees a perfect opportunity to get you back and that’s exactly what he did just now.
“Did they do something to you? Are you hurt?”
The concern could be clearly heard in Ray’s voice as he quickly made his way towards Finney, his eyes moving rapidly trying to see if he could see any injuries, while his hands tries to lift Finney’s shirt up to make sure there wasn’t any hidden bruises and cuts, there wasn’t.
Finney tries to push Ray away but couldn’t since he has always been stronger them him, specially when he is trying to check for wounds from both of them, so he just sighs.
“I’m fine, Robin got here before they could get violent”
“Good, but seriously Finney, you will need to stand up for yourself one of those days”
Before Finney could say anything, the bell rang, meaning that it was already lunch. They had been in there for a whole period without noticing it. Ray quickly begins cleaning the mess that they made in the bathroom, and yes, while the bathroom may practically belong to them, it didn’t mean they could just leave it a mess.
“Come on guys, let’s get some food, Finney looks way too skinny for my taste”
Ray says as he expectedly puts everything back into their rightful place in the first aid kit, Robin and Finney were already used to this, so they just nod and follow along, after all there is no way in hell that they would decline free food.
