accidents happen — trinity santos x gn!reader
— making a fruit tray for your girlfriend goes really well, up until the moment you slip up and hurt yourself. under the impression it wasn't really that bad, you get to the emergency room and, well, it's the pitt. you're lucky they had a bed open.
word count: 1.1k words
a/n: i think i've set this up to have a part two if i wanted to. would totally explore trinity's character and the trauma that would weave into her interpersonal relationships <3 let me know if you think i should.
tw: bodily harm (cut on wrist), hospital stay
you hadn't meant for it to happen, but the blood from your wrist was concerning at best. it wasn't spurting or overwhelming, but the consistent bleed had you rushing to the hospital after not being able to stave it away after a good twenty minutes. it seemed to only worsen as you stumbled into the er sitting room, excusing yourself from nearly running into an elderly woman and then a child who ran across the room to get back to their mother.
the kitchen towel you held against your wrist was on the verge of being taken over by the blood.
curse your clumsiness. curse the damned knife in your kitchen. curse your girlfriend not being home when it would have saved you an expensive er visit.
the woman behind the check-in counter took one look at you and shouted for someone to come and fetch you; if she recognized you was a question for another time.
was the blood really that bad?
your name—you could hear someone saying it, but you couldn't focus. all your attention was holding your hand down on the towel. someone shouted for a wheelchair, and with that, you were pushed down and wheeled into the emergency room.
north 5, you heard someone say (was it whitaker? huckleberry. your girlfriend's friend, the one that lived with her now, and you, when you stayed over). the same voice shouted for your girlfriend. santos.
trinity.
"what happened?" asked a disembodied voice, one you couldn't focus on but recognized all the while.
you couldn't catch a break, could you?
"dunno," another voice came. "said they just walked in like this. a trail of blood came in with them."
"a trail? shit, babe, why didn't you call me?" trinity.
you couldn't focus enough to answer her. you couldn't focus enough for anything.
in your haze of distress, you missed when you were transferred to a bed. you missed the stitches, the way trinity knew your blood type, the way someone asked if it was right for her to be doing it, the way trinity nearly ripped them a new one after saying that it was right, and why wouldn't it be?
you remained in and out of consciousness for a good hour or so, but you were stable.
during that time, trinity worked. she did, however, come back to you on more than one occasion, checking on your vitals, making sure the bandages were clean.
the moment you truly came to, trinity was off busy with another patient.
you were hooked up to several monitors, arm laying out with a dull ache by the wrist.
"oh, fuck," you breathed out, squeezing your eyes shut. it'd been a lot worse than you anticipated. a lot worse.
when you opened your eyes, whitaker had popped his head in through the curtains to check on you. his eyes widened a bit, a small smile forming on his lips.
"you're awake!"
you let out a soft grunt. "yeah. i think."
he walked inside, opening the curtain a bit so if trinity walked by, she would know to come in. he came to your side, checking your vitals to make sure all was well.
"how are you feeling?"
"i've been better," you said, weakly grinning.
he smiled weakly in return. "let me go get santos. she'll be glad to know you're awake."
no fight was given as he left—not that you felt like fighting against it. you had sought out this damned emergency room because she was here. (who were you kidding? it was the only one you really trusted around here.)
only a minute was spent alone before trinity pulled herself into your small corner of the hospital. her pretty eyes locked with yours as she crossed the threshold, a tense grimace on her face.
"what the hell happened?" she immediately asked, taking ahold of the hand opposite to your injured arm. "why didn't you call?"
"didn't think of it," you said, grimacing. you shifted uncomfortably. "didn't think it was that bad until i got here and the lady out front freaked."
"didn't think it was that serious?" she scoffed, looking at your arm. "i stitched you up, just so you know. it looked pretty serious."
you snorted softly.
"not funny," she said, frowning deeply. "you really scared me. you should have called."
a breathy sigh escaped you. you let your eyes fall shut for but a moment, thinking of the best thing to say. what could you say that would make this at least somewhat better? trinity santos was a hell of a force to be reckoned with. you should have known she wouldn't have taken this lightly.
her voice calling your name drew your attention to her once more.
"i'm sorry," you quickly said.
"what?"
"i—i should have called. it wasn't as bad when i—well, i was making you something, and the knife slipped, i slipped up, and the rest is history. just look at me."
"i am," trinity said, unable to stop a soft smirk from forming. "i am looking at you." her thumb gently brushed against the top of your hand. "you were making something? for me?"
you scrunched your nose, averting your gaze. "fruit tray. think i'll have to throw the whole thing away now."
she let out a soft laugh, nodding. "yeah. you probably should." she leaned forward, pressing a chaste kiss to your cheek. "i'll be back in a few to check in on you. don't let huckleberry bother you, hm?"
"he doesn't bother me," you retorted, watching as she let go of you and smiled as she left, a half wave given before she shut the curtain, leaving you alone in your mess.
you sucked in a deep breath, finally assessing the damage. it wasn't a long cut, but it must have been deeper than you initially believed. you'd have a pretty nice scar after this. trinity stitched you up—she'd practiced for so long, even going as far as having you help her one long night nearly a year ago after she'd been frustrated after class. her stitching was delicate—perfectly crafted, if you'd allow yourself to say.
the chaos of the emergency room continued to ramble on beyond your curtains, and you allowed yourself a moment to imagine what it was like. you heard much from trinity, knowing many horror stories she carried with her like a shield and sword every morning she awoke to find the same thing in this damned place, over and over again.
you'd be discharged soon enough, but until then, you would await your girlfriend's return, hoping this afternoon in the er wasn't as bad as what it sounded like.
dread long since settled in your mind, though, when you thought of all the blood that must be in your car and on your kitchen counter. that would be a bitch to clean up.
Something about Enjins gf cuddling with him in his bed for a few minutes before she goes to her room to sleep. He gets so handsy as they kiss each other slowly and lovingly; grabbing her ass under the silk night dress.
He whines when she’s says “ok, time for me to go back to my room”, As she gets off his lap
In the burning hot sun of some only Devil knows old town, the shadow of two men in horses appear. They are in all dark vests and have hard and nonchalant expressions on their faces. Their hats protect their eyes from the sunlight and make it easier to spot a figure slumbering in one of the few trees in this ungodly place.
Is the figure of a man. Behind the tree is his horse grazing peacefully. Nothing grows that good in these lands but you can have some grass, corn, rice and one or another vegetable. Some for the cattle and for the kids. The adults have to buy or commute the flour and other goods from other locations nearby, through not too long or too short travels, depending on what is needed. It is a small old town that works peacefully with some good old people with little soil to plant but is forgotten by most of the State. Who would want to be in a place that can give you nothing except for the sun, dust and the certainty of a death that no one will remember where is your grave to mourn?
Getting closer, the men on horses get a better view of the man. The stranger hides his face from the light with his brownish hat on his face and rests his right leg on his left, balancing slightly. There’s the reflection of a rectangular spectacles at the tip of his nose. He is half laying down on some sacks of seeds below the tree and some kind of leather traveling bag rests at the side of his head. The man hardly recognises the presence of the men and the one with a total black coat and an even more black hat starts to speak. His somber presence is increased by his milky colored skin and beautiful silver white stallion that he is riding.
-You don't look like you're from around here. - The man on the silver white horse asks. His perfect English almost betrays his possible real origins.
-Well, you don’t either. - Said the man on the ground, mouthing a piece of grass playfully and eyeing the man on the silver horse with hawk’s eyes behind the sparkly glasses. He doesn’t even try to mask it. - To which may I have the pleasure, Sirrrre…?
-Braginsky. Sheriff Braginsky. - The stiff man answers, cringing slightly at the extended drawl made by the stranger, obviously purposeful. - Missis Hattie not long ago reported to me that some strange man was wandering her lands since yesterday, so I and my Second Sheriff, Mister Sanders, came to check. So mister, may I have your name and the reason you’re here?
The Foxes are playing the Pocky Challenge, and when it’s Neil and Andrew’s turn, Andrew traps the stick between his lips and eyes Neil’s openly, almost offensively smug grin. “Don’t you dare come any closer than you're supposed to,” he warns. Neil’s answering smile tilts sharper. “What if I do?” (obvi he won't if Andrew said no), receiving a short “I’ll hit you.” The threat does nothing to dull Neil’s confidence. He leans in anyway, biting the biscuit down bit by bit, his gaze fixed on Andrew as the distance between them shrinks. With every centimeter, Andrew’s eyelids lower, lashes trembling faintly, breath warm against Neil’s mouth. Neil slows deliberately when he’s almost there, savoring the last fragile stretch, then lifts Andrew’s chin with two fingers, barely touching Andrew's warm lips with his own as he nips away the final sliver. He can feel Andrew’s fist tighten around his knee. He can hear his breathing. And instead of widening the gap, Neil stops—lips hovering just shy of Andrew’s, leaving a single, maddening centimeter between them, his smile deepening with quiet, merciless satisfaction. Somewhere in the background, the faint click of a phone camera breaks the hush, capturing the precise instant when Neil’s lips brush Andrew’s at just the right angle.
credit for a brilliant idea: @ajosm86 thank u so much!
I’m thinking Rabbot is out at the bar, not necessarily wanting to take someone home with them.
They see Park sitting alone at the bar, slowly nursing his drink. Jack goes up to order him and another round and pretends he didn’t see Park until he got up there.
“Hey, Park!” Jack would send him a friendly smiles, asking him what he is doing here, inviting him to come and sit with them.
Brendon was a lot different outside of work, he was easy to talk to and was only a decade younger than both of them.
Each drink loosened the men up, Jack making the first move, his hand on Brendon’s forearm, making eye contact.
Robby’s hand was on his thigh, gently rubbing it over the Jean material.
“Why don’t we take this back to our place? Does that interest you?” Robby asked.
Brendon was flushed, blush spreading across his cheeks. “Yeah, I’d like that. I’d like that a lot actually.”
It was no big surprise when they found out that the big mean man just liked to be praised and told he was good.

Dead on Main au where Jason is of course Danny’s Fright Knight and like all knights do he has a weapon—except it’s his gun.
The batfam + justice league + everyone (except ghosts duh) don’t know that his normal average everyday gun is actually like a super powerful spiritual soul shooter that is, yaknow, capable of blasting someone into an alternate dimension where their greatest fears become real.
So imagine there’s like a big battle where a ghastly ghoul reigns terror on Gotham. The world sends their best hero’s—wizards and occultists are notably high highest in demand—to stop the ghost but, nothing works. All of the weapons and spells and chants fail.
But,
As the fights worsens and the heros scream for people to flee suddenly--
Loud squeaking footsteps echo across the ground. Jason yawns strolling into the battle zone in a ghostbusters t-shirt plaid pants bunny slippers--he strolls up in pajamas--as if annoyed at being woken up and cocks his fucking normal 'i could buy you at walmart' gun at the ghost.
His brothers screech at him yelling ”Are you insane” and to "get the hell out of here" in fear and panic because their idiot brother is trying to kill a real life ghost with a damn gun.
But then Jason shoots the ghost and it works.
The ghost fizzles down with a cry into just a little blob.
The young man then spends 30 minutes lecturing the spirit saying things like “you’re glad I’m not calling the big guy” and “you know our highness would not be happy learning what you’ve been doing” before taking out a thermos of all things and sucking the ghost into it.
Jason then sighs and walks away as if he hadn’t just defeated a hell raising ghost with a gun people can buy off a corner pawn store and a soup container.
Immediately the bat family swarms him with questions
Dick grabs him by his shoulders tense with worry, “Are you okay?”
“Um yeah—“ Jason tries to reply squirming in his hold
Damian cuts him off, “How the hell did your gun a physical weapon hurt that ghastly demonic spirit!”
“Uh that ghost is actually pretty chill you guys just pissed him off." Jason replies plain
They stare at him with a look saying 'you did not call a ghost that has been decimating gotham chill' probably because he did just that.
Tim is the first to break out of the disbelief stupor as he very inteligently says, "What?"
Jason responds easily with a confused quirk in his brow, "Second, my gun affects entities of all sorts, perks to my job and all that."
"How did being a vigilante and also probably crime boss give you a gun that could do that?" Dick asks
Jason sends him a look saying "are you an idiot" as he replies, "Yea, sure, kicking petty thieves and druggies got me my all powerful spirit weapon--No you dumbass, it's from being the bodyguard of the King of the Infinite Realms! How the hell did you guys not think of that!”
Tim breathes in, then breathes out, then breathes in again and screams, "Why the HELL WOULD WE THINK OF THAT JAY?!"
"The--" Batman, suddenly beside them, chokes, "Bodyguard of T-the what."
Jason blinks at his family then his eyes widen, "Oh shit."
"What?!" His family screech in panic
"Oh fuck," Jason says with a growing hysteric smile, "Danny's gonna have a big ol' fucking laugh with this."
"Brother who is Danny!" Damian demands for an answer
Jason coughs into his palm, "Oh yeah you guys really dont dont know. So I may have forgotten to explain some... things."
Bruce levels him with a stare that says "you think?"
Jason chuckles nervously, "So y'know how I'm half dead?"
pause
Damian very eloquently responds for the suddenly dying screaming combusting members of his family, "...sure."
"Well I met the King of the afterlife which is like the Ruler of Everything and he was really cute--" Jason says distant in his own world
"Theres a afterlife?" Superman asks casually appearing beside the emotionally wrecked family
"Yea its pretty cool. So I start flirting a bit with the guy and we hit it off, I now im his zombie ghost knight boyfriend lover for all time. Oh and i got this sickass gun." Jason says with a happy grin
"That is a pretty sick gun." John Constantine nods
"I know right?" Jason chirps
"You wouldn't mind if I inspected--" John reaches his hand
Jason slaps it away, "Not a chance you soul whore. Y'know your basically the tax evasionist of the Ghost Zone right?"
John only sighs and leaves
"But yea so I'm like the ghost world equivalent to married with the king and became his knight and thats how I was able to stop that ghost guy." Jason reiterates as if explaining a simple question, "Y'guys get that?"
Tim is on the ground trying to decide whether; sobbing hysterically, interogating jason to find out all the things he doesn't want to know or sleeping would be a better use of his time.
Dick has decided to blame himself and has started to draft a reddit post in the middle of the street starting with "I (23 m) have a younger brother (19 m), who I used to resent but really regret now, he died and came back and doesn't even tell me about what goes on in his life anymore. How do I fix our--"
Damian is just staring at the gun and... Jason pushes it deeper in his holster and shifts to the side, better to be safe than sorry with this thieving shit.
As Jason adjusts his weaponry he hears Bruce sob in the background, "He didn't even invite me to the wedding! Am I that horrible of a father!"
Wonder Woman pats his shoulder reasuringly whilst the rest of the League seem to be trying to calm him down
Jason looks around tiredly at the mess he had created and decides fuck it
"Alright I'm heading out for the night, you guys get home safe!" He yells and without caring to listen to anyone and everyone voicing their confusion he zips open a green portal and stumbles in
He crashes down on an unbelievably comfortable bed
Danny blinks blearily before sending the young man a sleepy smile, "Hey Jay, what kept you up so long?"
Jason slipping under the blankets with a yawn says, "You would not believe the night I just had."

“Shadow, there you are. I need you to do something for me.”
The hedgehog, who had been peacefully brooding at the sunset, didn’t turn around or even open his eyes. “No.” He remained standing with his arms crossed, hoping she would leave.
“What—wait! You haven’t even listened to me yet!” Rouge’s wings batted in frustration. “I’m willing to give you one of my Chaos Emeralds in return.”
Those words finally made Shadow open his eyes and look at her. The way she was frowning, how she couldn’t stay completely still, made it clear something was bothering her. But enough to part with one of the precious stones?
“What is it?” Shadow was intrigued now.
Instead of replying immediately, Rouge looked around, searching for the right words to convey what she wanted from him.
“I need you to find out what’s wrong with Espio.”
“Who?”
“Espio… the detective chameleon from Team Chaotix?”
“Right. And why is he worth a Chaos Emerald all of a sudden?” Shadow’s eye ridge rose inquisitively as he turned to fully face her.
The bat averted her eyes, seeming to search for words again. “That’s a story for another time. The point is, I’ve been trying to catch his attention, but no matter how hard I try to woo him, he’s been oblivious to my advances… It can’t be—there has to be an explanation, right? I’ve never failed before. He… there’s no way he’s straight. That’s got to be it!”
Shadow wasn’t about to ask for her reasons behind her sudden interest in the ninja. That was none of his business, nor did he care enough to find out. “If you say so. Have you maybe tried asking him?”
“Asking him!” Rouge straightened suddenly, her wings tensing against her back as she looked almost offended. “I can’t just ask—what if he does like women, and I’m just not—… no, I could never!”
“…If you’re doubting your looks, then that’s not it. Have you considered maybe you’re just not that good at flirting?”
“Huh!? What would you know?”
“Since you came to me for help, I’d assume I know a thing or two.” Shadow uncrossed his arms, one hand coming to rest on his now slightly jutted-out hip.
“I’m not asking you to flirt with him! Just find out for me, maybe ask around—”
“What, are you afraid I might succeed where you failed?” Shadow smirked, unable to stop himself.
“Huh!? You would never! Forget I said anything.” She sighed rather dramatically. “It’s a lost cause…”
Rouge turned around and started walking away, her mind briefly conjuring the image of Shadow seducing Espio. She quickly found herself warming up to the idea for some twisted reason.
“Let’s bet on it, then.”
Rouge stopped in her tracks and listened.
“If I succeed, you give me that Chaos Emerald.” After months of not having any with him, this seemed like a good opportunity for Shadow to easily get his hands on one.
She turned her head and looked at him over her shoulder. “And if you fail? What’s in it for me?”
“Besides having been right about Espio being a lost cause, and your honor being restored? Hm. Name your prize, then.”
“Hmm… If you fail, you’ll have to come with me to Angel Island and distract Knuckles for me for as long as you can. Deal?”
