Afraid to say I’ve lost all interest in it.
HOWEVER, if anyone wishes to keep in touch/interact with a different war-orientated muse of mine, I am very much active on hellhoxnd.

millie-hollins asked me to make a recent portrait of Joe, since all my paintings of him are pretty old; so I made this quick thingy at work.
Otherwise, still on an indefinite hiatus.
The more I tend to my replies on this blog, the more I get the sense the people I write with hadn't even bothered reading Joe's bio. Hell, it's not even a bio as much as it is a very, very short stats page. Yet it's quite evident most my followers have never bothered to read it.
Gonna stop doing my replies now and take a short break from this blog. Consider this a semi-hiatus notice, if you will. It's discouraging and disheartening and it frankly makes me not want to be a part of this fandom.
Other blogs will still be active; feel free to message me to get their URLS.
Bill gave a nod before taking another drink, finishing off the glass with ease. It was refreshing and he gladly ordered another, needing it after not being able to go on leave for some time now. But he noticed the other’s last name was open for creative nicknames much like his own but he’d leave that alone for now.”We? Well, started off wit’ some beer first. After all I just got here.”
”What are we drinking FOR, Sergeant. As in, what are we CELEBRATING.”
Amused smirk still present on his lips, he couldn’t help but make note of the way this Guarnere was chugging down the same awful pint he had been nursing for the past half hour.
”Such as, gee, ain’t we glad Sobel took his finger out his ass for a change.”
Perhaps it was the emotional nerve struck by his blunt question, or perhaps it was the relief that swept over her knowing she was no longer ALONE that prompted Rosalie to hang her head and weep. Thick tears cut trails through the dirt smeared across her cheeks like cheap make-up, shoulders shaking with each sob that racked through her slender frame. “Y-Yeah.” She breathed shakily once able to collect herself enough to grasp onto the soldier’s bicep. Steadying herself, the pilot leaned down to pick up the rifle
This was a God damned war — she was going to need it.
Glancing over her shoulder at the shredded parachute draped over her comrade’s mangled corpse, she felt a lump form in her throat. She quickly looked away and busied herself using her bruised fingers to pry away the sweat soaked strands of dirtied blonde hair sticking to her forehead with dried blood. “Before we go…I…there’s just one thing.”
Rosalie hesitated. He was about to help her to safety and tend to her wounds; could she really ask another favor of him? Especially one so personal? “Ya ain’t gotta…yer doin’ enough fer me as it is. It’s just…it’s him,” She said, using the back of her hand to wipe at her nose. “I don’t feel right leavin’ him here and we can’t drag him along with us, I know it. But least I could do is get one of his tags fer his missus and his babies back home. I think they deserve some closure and to know that their daddy was a hero. Could ya…could ya do that fer me?”
Oh --- SHIT.
He never did know just what to do with a woman in tears --- Ruth would simply grow weary of his failed attempts at comforting her and would send him away until she could stop crying on her own. Then, when she would finally collect herself and return to him, it would all be over. Incompetent, she called him. Well – suppose that he was.
”Oh --- uh ---“ Hush, there, there. It’ll be alright The words were near to leave his lips, though he had snapped his mouth shut at the last moment as the pilot gathered herself and took hold of his arm. Okay then. Guess all women were to care for themselves when it came to crying.
With a heavy sigh and a deep frown at her latter request, the paratrooper took a quick glance around. There had yet been any signs of the Jerries coming to scan the place of the crash, though one could never be too safe. They had better haul ass before anything could and would happen.
”Yeah --- yeah.”
That sentiment, at least, was something he could sympathize with. He had stuffed numerous dog tags into one of the inner pockets of his bag, lest they clunk together and attracted all sorts of unwanted attention. He was snagging ammo, food, water and every kind of supply he could find off the poor men found dead at the side of the road --- the least he could do, he supposed, was take their tags as well. Above all, it was a good way to motivate himself. He had to make it back, now. Someone had to account for these men, who were probably still marked as MIA.
Just like himself.
”Here --- lean on this.”
Replacing his bicep with the exterior of the shattered plane, he moved from her side to that of the corpse’s. Slinging his Tommy over his shoulders, lips twisted in a pained expression, he kneeled before the mangled body and reached inside the collar of its shirt, removing the tags from its neck with surprising care.
”Vaoyl zikrun.” He muttered under his breath as he rose back to his feet, turning his attention back to the wounded soldier. “You got this? Or you need my help?”
Was gonna do replies yesterday but I literally crashed at like 9 PM. Will tend to them soon!
THERE WAS BLOOD UPON THE RISERS.
Drafts are empty (save for millie-hollins). Will be spending the night on my other blogs.

Tumblr has been doing that lately. Kinda always does that.
More so than usual lately, though.
I’ll Be Seeing You
Millie casted a nervous glance over to the Sgt. “oh God…” she rolled her eyes and then cleared her throat; “Sgt. As I told you many many MANY times before, officers—“ she pointed to herself “and enlisted men such as you–“ she poked his shoulder “are not to fraternize. Are we clear this time?..”
She gave him a sweet mischievous smile. She had to admit, his commitment to antagonize her was quite impressive. And, she hated to admit it; he did make her laugh a few times before. God forbid he’ll ever know he was the reason for her smile.
”And I see you’re still trying to play hard to get. It’s okay --- I get it.” He remarked, grin never leaving his lips. “But come on, Lieutenant --- it’s the weekend! Loosen up a bit. Ain’t no one gonna chew you out for having a quick chat with a non-commissioned officer.”
She could roll her eyes time and time again and call him whatever she wanted; but she had enjoyed his company back in the hospital, and no one could convince him otherwise. Call him stupid, call him thick – but he wasn’t a complete nincompoop. He knew affection when he fucking saw it – especially when it came --- oh, you know --- from an attractive young lady.
”Now truthfully, be honest – you have been missing me, just a l i t t l e bit. Ain’t no use lying, Lieutenant – I can see it in your face.”
Tumblr's decided to eat up random notifications, such as reblogs of threads, asks etc. So if I don't get back to you/reply to something after a few days, do bring it to my attention. I don't always scroll through my dash or check my messages just because, and I might have missed it.

”Lieutenant! Hey --- Lieutenant!”
Some dingy bar someplace in Devon, England. Able Company had grown quite familiar with the place over the past couple of months, though nurses from the nearby hospital remained a rare sight. It had been --- oh --- probably a month since he last saw her --- though he’d recognize that mane of thick black curls anywhere.
He was quick on his feet, leaving the table around which his comrades sat as he swiftly closed the space between Lt. Hollins and himself. “Fancy seeing you around this place.” He joked, wide grin plastered all across his face. “You mind?”
Not awaiting an answer, he took the empty seat beside her before she could decline him. He seemed to do nothing but get on her every last nerve those couple of weeks when he was hospitalized with a broken leg – though that was never quite enough to have him give up.
”So how you been doing, huh? Missing me much?”
Long ago…
And
Far away…
Green hills and enemies These things they make us sentimental inside Your words are gelignite Or just another sentimental aside
We’re catching bullets in our teeth And though it’s easy if you know how it’s done They split the secret up six ways before they gave it to us just before dawn And now we don’t remember
