this is my ppg blog to help my friend(s) navigate my headcanons and worldbuilding. slowly working on this being a hyperlink hell to connect my posts back to ‘character folders’ (ie; a post for one character with related posts listed - it’ll make sense later.) 

intending to post about my ppg ocs in a similar format as well. i’ll try to give them a separate tag so they can be filtered out for preference.

EGRET FOLDER

EGRET – youngest – [zest / red]

meticulous to even the most minute details, she has a plan for everything. not only one plan, but multiple, outlining every step in her daily routine down to how many minutes it should take her to reach a certain destination. will lose composure if things go wrong (or simply come to fruition in a way different from what she imagined) and depends on her plans like a crutch.

incredibly sensitive to criticism and would rather stay safe than fail at trying something new.

gets so nervous at times that she will freeze up and go mute. cue panic attack.

laments not having a partner but never takes the chance when an opportunity presents itself.

fun fact: is coddled and babied a lot because of her anxiety to the point that she hasn’t been able to acclimate to the world or grow a thicker skin. has gotten so used to having her hand held that the second she’s on her own, she doesn’t know how to handle it. 

special power is psychosomatic illusion. when practiced to its fullest extent, the manifested illusion will be powerful enough to interact with its environment and target (if given one); this can range from moving objects to injuring others. 

a disadvantage of this power is that manifesting an illusion can be intercepted by a variety of things, such as lack of concentration or the target understanding that it is only an illusion and therefore resistant to any effects. given egret is easily distracted by potential dangers, it’s hard for her to hold onto an illusion for longer than a few moments, let alone one that is strong enough to leave lasting effects.

name interpretation:

[bird] ; birds can be associated with a lot of things, but are often used to describe characters that are flighty and timid or easily ruffled.

[symbolism] ; egrets specifically are thought to symbolize new beginnings and strength, which are two things that egret could do with drawing inspiration from.

ELIZA FOLDER

ELIZA – middle – [vin du best / green]

seeking to mediate most situations means she’s more of a meddler than she realizes. her aversion to conflict (outside of herself) leads to getting involved in other people’s problems - whether it’s wanted or not. she means well but has yet to learn that not everyone wants an outside opinion. perhaps her meddling is a sense of moral duty given her reservations about heroism. 

doesn’t know how to take ‘no’ for an answer or take boundaries at face-value. 

the feelings of others go over her head. she tends to ‘project’ an expected emotion onto someone rather than acknowledge how they actually feel.

doesn’t enjoy being in the spotlight but also doesn’t recognize how her actions put her there. 

fun fact: has a strong sense of obligation to help people but because she doesn’t think she has what it takes to be a hero, overcompensates in other areas to make up for it. this has put her in the position of the ‘go-to’ problem solver, to the extent that even strangers will approach her with their issues. 

special power is charmspeak. this ability allows her to ‘grasp’ a subject - making them more susceptible to suggestion - and charm, manipulate, or order them to do her bidding. the severity of the method depends on how strong the grasp of a subject is; in its strongest state, it acts as a hypnotic trance.

a disadvantage to this power is that it has no effect on mindless or insentient creatures. in addition to this, eliza has yet to figure out how to strengthen her grasp and is limited to weak suggestions, meaning she must be very careful in her wording to avoid a subject disagreeing and breaking free. 

name interpretation:

[meaning] ; one of the meanings of eliza is ‘joyful’, much like herself as she is always happy to help.

[meaning] ; another translation of eliza ‘god is my oath’, relating back to her sense of obligation.

'EEZA FOLDER

‘EEZA – oldest – [rest / blue]

while compassion can take her to great lengths in certain circumstances, doesn’t often leave the comfort of her boundaries. doesn’t want anything to do with anyone. isn’t afraid to put her foot down when people think they can abuse her rare kindness. has no desire for popularity, validation, or praise, and does her best to seem untouchable in such regards. 

her ‘me-time’ is sacred. there are very few people who can make her pick up the phone when taking time for herself.

harsh and no-nonsense demeanor has manifested from constantly dealing with others’ total lack of common sense. 

designated the apathetic therapy friend subject to the woes of the people around her.

fun fact: has zero interest in heroism or using her powers ‘for the greater good’. has swerved the ‘chosen one’ trope, and will continue to do so for the rest of her life. any event where she’s stepped in has been because she was inconvenienced by the situation first. 

special power is electric charge. ranging from a small ‘zap’ to expanse of a power grid, can charge or ‘pulse’ a target with electricity. when in controlled increments, can be used in place of defibrillators or electronic chargers for equipment, and in larger magnitudes can possibly provide a power boost. 

a disadvantage to this power is that if a vessel does not meet the requirements to store or withstand the electrical surge, the results can be particularly gruesome if not result in death. additionally, this power is not the same as electricity manipulation; she can only control what she has generated.

name interpretation:

[meaning] ; short for eloisa. is thought to mean ‘famous warrior’ which is both ironic given her disinterest in heroism, as well as alluding to her fierce demeanor. 

[meaning] ; is connotative of health and prosperity, a nod to her priority of self-care.

BLUNT FOLDER

BLUNT – youngest – [carrot / blue]

comes across as someone with the emotional depth of a puddle and thought process as complex as kindergartener equations. there’s more going on in his head that people seem to realize, but that’s what makes being around him so easy: he’s just fine to chill out on the couch and let people come and go as they please. 

has an abundance of patience that makes him a very good mentor and teacher to others. 

always surprises people when he partakes in laborious activity; they never believe that he’d have the energy for it. 

spends a lot of time sitting on his options before he chooses them. slow and steady wins the race. 

fun fact: in an odd turn of events, is given the title of ‘gay best friend’ more times than he can count. it may have something to do with his lack of interest in romantic relationships with people. at the very least, will automatically distance himself from anyone calling him such.

no special power. sometimes a special weapon.

name interpretation:

[verb] ; to make something less sharp. synonymous with easing or calming something, similar to the effect he has on other people. chill vibe. (weed joke.)

[adjective] ; to describe someone who is plain-spoken and candid. doesn’t mince words or hide what they are trying to say.

BLUSTER FOLDER

BLUSTER – middle – [burrow / red]

has many fooled by his sickly-sweet persona and will play the part of a soft demure bunny unable to fend for itself in order to get what he wants. being cute and kind gets him further than being the unsociable grump he actually is. despite constantly interacting with people, would much prefer to hole up in his room.

likes to think he is the ‘leader’ out of his siblings and doesn’t enjoy being undermined.

will withdraw from people emotionally and shut down for all the fluffy, doting personality he puts on.

incredibly critical of others and will embellish his own achievements to put them down.

fun fact: when presenting himself to other people, dresses prim and proper, projecting an air of calm. in contrast, his bedroom is a disorganized mess full of odds and ends that he’s unwilling to throw out. refuses to take criticism on it.

no special power. sometimes a special weapon.

name interpretation:

[verb] ; a nod to what he’s really like: arrogant, always looking to brag or boast about his achievements. 

[spoonerism] ; sounds similar to “blister”, which can be used to describe someone with a scathing personality.

BOZO FOLDER

BOZO – oldest – [cottontail / green]

has a habit of centering his personality around partying and sex because he doesn’t know what to do with himself otherwise. impulsive. erratic. either having the best time of his life or in the deepest pit of despair with no hope of climbing out. characterizes himself by his addictions. has a influence on the people in his circles than he realizes.

has zero faith in himself and his capabilities. tends to be the very thing holding him back from something better. 

has great difficulty handling his emotions and tries to drown them out with substances rather than dealing with them. 

isn’t very reliable. will flake out on people last-minute if something else catches his interest. 

fun fact: surrounded by fairweather friends who don’t care about him. he is incredibly aware of this and holds them all at arm’s length, as there’s no doubt that he would be the last choice in every situation. yes, it’s lonely. no, he’s not going to seek out better people. thinks he doesn't deserve it.

no special power. sometimes a special weapon

[noun] ; a stupid or foolish person. pretty self-explanatory.

[inspiration] ; from ‘Bozo the Clown’, however draws more direct inspiration from tramp clowns in personality and behavior.

Would you make a character folder for Princess Morebucks?

as much as i enjoy princess as a character, probably not.

that's not to say she's unimportant, since she's still likely to pop up in future posts when i have time / a topic related to her i want to talk about, but at the end of the day she's not a chem-x entity.

she's still a normie even if she feels elevated above other normies like robin, mike, the floyjoydson twins, etc. - and definitely more relevant than some of the other background characters i want to involve as well.

her involvement with the ppg / rrb / ppnkg is dependent on what au or storyline i have for her as well. it's inconsistent enough that a folder for her would just get confusing, i think.

also just because i don't really want to /lh

BERSERK FOLDER

BERSERK – youngest – [vinegar / red]

unintentional emotional vampire. is very immature and sheltered, exposed to negative influences, and a social pariah because of it. she seeks attention and affirmations constantly and doesn’t always wherewithal to form meaningful connections. addictive and obsessive personality. doesn’t know when she is pushing boundaries and always wants to hold someone’s hand. 

all the traits of a troubled child: outbursts, mood swings, missing school, clinginess.

has a deep need for people to love her but still doesn’t really know what love means. 

very destructive (inwardly and outwardly) attention-seeking behaviors. 

fun fact: is an absolute sugarfiend and extremely picky about what else she eats. suffered from cavities because of the amount of sugar she was consuming; many of her teeth were unsalvageable and had to be removed. most of her molars are fake. has a hawley-style retainer that she’s embarrassed about.

special power is pyrokinesis. can emit it from any point on her body for a short period of time, similar to combustion. powers are tied to her emotions and while she has figured out how to repress most reactions, can still erupt in flames from time to time. 

a disadvantage of this power is the fact that she does not have a lot of control over it when it comes to conjuring/manifesting fire. this can lead to disaster if berserk is unable to dispel it. 

name interpretation:

[adjective] ; obviously related to her behavior and personality. very volatile, prone to extreme displays of anger or excitement. 

[adjective] ; potential to be dangerous if it gets out of hand. synonymous with ‘frantic’, or ‘panicked’ in some cases. can be too much for herself to handle.

BRAT FOLDER

BRAT – middle – [salt / blue]

fiercely protective of her privacy, brat has a tendency to keep people at arm’s length despite the many personas she wears to create a false sense of intimacy. there are no real stakes in her life - the consequences of her actions are, in fact, a welcome surprise most of the time. it’s all just a game in the end: something fun to pass the time. ‘consequences’ are just another form of entertainment. 

despite feeling so separate from others, is very good at maintaining friendships. 

treats daily life like a ‘grind’. lots of ‘scripted events’ and ‘interactions’. routine.

is acting as herself in every situation. finds it funny when people think they have found her “true self”.

fun fact: has a reputation for being super tech-savvy in a way that makes people imagine sleek cyberpunk designs, but in reality she started out as a lil’ greasemonkey and still is one at heart. adores old, beat up hunks of junk. treats them more like people than her actual friends sometimes. 

special power is cyberlingualism - not to be confused with cyberpathy. strictly pertaining to the innate ability to understand all forms of cybernetic tech, with a focus on coding languages. however, is often mistaken for being cyberpathic because of her affinity for ‘tech stuff’. 

no known disadvantages. she does a lot of the legwork herself when it comes to learning about computers, robots, mechanics, etc. perhaps prone to migraines from eye strain from staring at screens too long. 

name interpretation:

[noun] ; a poorly behaved child. has a tendency to behave in a way that twists someone’s arm until she gets what she wants. 

[noun] ; a cloak. alludes to the misconception that brat shields her ‘real’ self from people; or perhaps, more correctly, that she often conceals parts of herself.

BRUTE FOLDER

BRUTE – oldest – [everything nasty / green]

simply a deplorable human being. her main priority above all else is herself: any seemingly charitable or generous act will undoubtedly benefit her in some way. people are merely pawns for her to move around as she sees fit, tools to pave the way for her success. in her world, she is the highest and most powerful authority. what brute wants, brute gets. 

has a whole methodology centered around information-gathering. is relentless. no stone unturned. 

biggest red flag along the west coast. toxic, gaslighting, manipulative boyfriend material.

is incredibly paranoid - rightfully so, as she has many, many enemies. still paranoid on top of that. 

fun fact: has almost no hobbies outside of her ‘work’ and sitting menacingly in her office. genuinely so boring outside of what makes her feared and intimidating. ask her what she gets up to in her free time and she’ll avoid the question as much as possible. she has no life outside of tormenting others. 

special power is photokinesis. it’s not very powerful and doesn’t do more than produce spots of light or redirect an existing light source. can manifest her own light even in total darkness. at most, is strong enough to temporarily blind or distract an opponent. 

no known disadvantages other than being a weak power as a whole. brute tends to use it for subtle effects and redirects for her amusement. 

name interpretation:

[noun] ; self-explanatory. a brute, a sadist. taking pleasure in violence and having no regard for human life. 

[adjective] ; characterized by an absence of reasoning or intelligence. this one is ironic, given brute is the exact opposite: everything is calculated and premeditated.

BUTCH FOLDER

BUTCH – youngest – [puppy dog tails / green]

while energetic as a child, has grown quiet and enduring over his adolescence. is the glue that keeps many groups together. the mediator, the peacekeeper. very in-tune with people’s feelings and lends a semi-willing ear. is like the dog at a party: everybody wants to sit down and engage with him even if all he wants to do is just lie there. 

took on more responsibility than brick gives him credit for growing up; is burnt out now.

bottles up a lot of his emotions for the sake of peace of mind. forcefully believes in kindness.

unerring loyalty even if the people he loves hurt him, but isn’t afraid to set them straight.

fun fact: ‘chaotic’ reputation is only known by those who have seen him in a fight. incredibly difficult to goad him into one but once involved, there’s no getting him to back down. no party leaves the scene unscathed. could be a waffle house parking lot or a battlefield, he won’t stop until someone yields.

[name] ; old fashioned name for one’s pet, normally a dog, especially for a strong guard dog with a gentle, quiet demeanor.

[knife] ; a butcher’s knife or cleaver, usually with a thin blade for precision cutting. a reminder that he is far more capable than people realize.

BRICK FOLDER

BRICK – middle – [snips / red]

self-imposed martyr. got it into his head that he’s ‘the chosen one’ doomed to carry the world’s burdens, and takes it upon himself to embody the mysterious and edgy persona to go along with it. thinks he’s totally alone. ignores the hands of others offering their help; is too self-absorbed to realize he’s just hurting the people around him with his actions. 

acts aloof and lone wolf as a plea for attention; craves social interaction a lot. 

pours himself into work and college (and vigilantism) because he thinks he’s the only one making a difference or trying to support him and his brothers. 

very unempathetic. constant attitude of ‘they can’t be hurting as much as i’m hurting’. 

fun fact: is a total crybaby. pretends he is this stoic, impenetrable rock that nobody understands. in reality, is known very well by many people - he’s an open book. is so starved of interaction (his own fault) that he blabbers all the time and inserts his opinion into everything. 

no special power. sometimes a special weapon (will talk about in a different post sometime.)

[phrase] ; like a ton of bricks. moans about having the weight of the world on his shoulders despite the fact he brought it upon himself. 

[phrase] ; brick by brick. hints towards a point where he will acknowledge the people around him, and will slowly learn to apologize and make amends.

BOOMER FOLDER

BOOMER – oldest – [snails / blue]

everybody’s satellite friend. likes it that way, enjoys the freedom of migrating from one friend-group to the next, with enough space to be on his own. doesn’t have a lot of strong ties with people and can cut them as fast as he can form them. very few people he’d consider himself close to. his friendliness is a little bit of an act, but not faking. just doesn’t think people are entitled to every personal detail.

can be a bit of a shit-stirrer if things get boring, but only does it in moderation.

holds grudges. picks fights. carries a lot of anger in him that he can’t let go of.

not very good at comforting people. very awkward around tears. few exceptions.

fun fact: is slowly learning as many fictional languages as he can get his hands on, whether they are only spoken or written. has figured out alienese from futurama, simlish from the sims, and dovah-zul from elder scrolls. yes he always jokes about being “good with his tongue” and then weirds someone out.

no special power. sometimes a special weapon (will talk about in a different post sometime.)

name interpretation:

[sound] ; a loud sound with an echo. his arrival tends to be sudden, enjoyable, and sometimes attracts more attention - when he inevitably leaves, people tend to bring him up. leaves an impression. 

[exclamation] ; more about the abruptness of boomer’s behaviors, particularly to do with his patience or when his temper flares. one minute he’s enjoying himself, then boom he’s throwing hands!
