balsamina:
Lusamine followed, maintaining a safe, polite distance from the unfamiliar Pokemon when they reached their next destination. Angelâs squawk earned a somewhat startled greeting in return (âOh! Hello there, lovely.â), but after that Lusamine fell silent, watching Gladion commune with the hulking Hydreigon as if he had done it a thousand times before. Likely, he had.
She sighed lightly and smiled to herself, feeling a strange, somber emotion settle over her as she observed the two. It was surreal and bittersweet, but not at all unpleasant. Nostalgic, maybe.
Eventually, Gladion pulled her out of her reverie with a quick acknowledgement, introducing herâ as his mother. She couldnât help herself; she beamed.
âCharmed, Iâm sure,â she told Azure with a slight incline of her head.
Quite grand, Gladion called all of this. He looked in that moment so much like a child, so much like he had before that glow had been snatched away from him. At once relieved and dizzyingly happy, Lusamine mirrored his smile.
âIt is.â Like a dream. âIt certainly is quite the exciting life youâve made for yourself here, Gladion⊠Iâm so glad I was able to see it. To see you.â
Before she could do something graceless, she moved forward a bit, cautiously extending a hand toward Azure for her to sniff or otherwise investigate (and, possibly, to offer pats).
This, Lusamine thought, was only politeâ but she glanced uncertainly at Gladion, then again at Azure, and asked, âMay I?â
Azure turned her attention to the new woman who smelled deeply like she was from very far away. Very much like sand and intense tropics.
The Hydreigon gave a wide grin with her middle head, nodding. âQuite, mother to the little lad.â She thought, as she could neither verbalize nor speak to Lusamine through telepathy.
The young professor put his hands in his pockets, smiling. âI uhâŠwell, Iâm glad Iâve been able to see you so different too.â A child with bright eyes and a future with hope - that was what heâd grown himself again. Cultivated a home with passion, and a workplace with love. âI grew into it, guess I really was able to sprout, eh?â Some other things apparently grew too. Who in their right mind taught him puns?
The Dragon looked down at the hand, understanding the action and leaning down her head, nuzzling a bit with a small throat trill. Affection was always appreciated, be it from strangers or familiar faces.
For the moment he had while his guest was distracted, Gladion pulled his phone from his pocket, scrolling through a few contacts and selecting one.Â
[Text to: Tee Erou]: Id like to come on the Alola trip if the offer still stands. Might have some help there? Had a surprise visitor
Now that Gladion thought of it, heâd actually deleted Lusamineâs number and contact years back. The phone went to a pocket for the moment. âAh, hope you didnât mind, just had to see if Iâd be able to join the crew for the Alola trip in a few months. We have to register beforehand, preparations and all that.â He said it while moving his hand and gesturing freely.Â
Feeling his phone buzz, the blonde gave it a check and smiled. â--And it appears Iâm on the crew like that!â
