I am ANGRY
I am angry because I cannot change my circumstances
I am angry because I myself cannot change the results
I am angry because I cannot forgive my father
I am angry because my mother still stays
I am angry that I have little siblings looking up to me
I am angry because they have nothing to look up to
I am angry because I am a daughter
I am angry because I am a disappointment ...
I am angry that I graduated with honors
Yet I am angry because I cannot get a job in my field
I am angry because I am called beautiful ...
I am angry because I am still categorized as “beautiful ... for “this particular race””
I am angry because my forefathers fought for my rights
I am angry because I am still not considered a human being WITH RIGHTS
I am angry that fathers and brothers are being jailed and kept from their families for minor crimes
While white privilege gets away with little to no time with a high percentage being “rehabilitated” for major crimes.
I am angry that I am told the texture of my hair is not appropriate for certain settings
While other cultures are celebrated for embracing what is not their own.
I am angry our art is under appreciated.
I am angry that our music/movies are not considered art.
I am angry that our education system is a cycle that caters to the rich.
I am angry that the poor have to struggle just to be told you do not have what it takes ... financially... to compete.
I am ANGRY that SLAVERY is still happening and all we can do as a people is hashtag!
I am angry that I am not thick enough for a black man
Not skinny enough for a white man
Thought less of ... compared to any other race ... in stature, capability and strength.
I am angry those who are told to protect us ... HURT us..
I am angry MOST OF ALL... that after all this ... This anger will be passed on to future generations.
Signed,
A very angry individual
