Summary: In a world where soulmates are found by touching one another, little Kurt, who’s been bullied even at the tender age of three, has finally found some friends. As kids do, to say goodbye, Kurt hugs three of his friends and earns himself a soulmark. The only problem? He doesn’t know who it belongs to.
Filling this prompt by @justawriterwithdreams: Soulmate has a mark on the place where their soulmate first touches them.
I wrote this story for the @gleepotluckbigbang. I want to thank @michaelscribbles for his beautiful artwork. It’s everything I envisioned it could be and more.
Thank you, also, to @teddyshoney for being my cheerleader throughout this process. I want to especially thank her for her help with the “little” speech. You guys…when I went through to accept edits for this, I was floored. I’m not sure how much time it took her, but I am so glad she did. I feel like it gives the story a whole new level of awesome!
This is the 10th installment of our series, In Every Lifetime. (You can read this story without having read the rest of the series, but I always feel that if you haven’t read anything else in our series, reading “The Unknown” will help, especially in the last chapter.)
This fic is rated M for severe bullying and non-con elements, as well as implied suicide and suicidal ideation. I’ve put warnings before the chapters that contain things that might be triggering to someone. If you have questions, please reach out to me. I hope everyone enjoys! Thanks for reading!
