Websites To Play Flash Games In 2023

1) https://www.y8.com/

Y8.com is the number one place I play most flash games because they have such a vast library of archived flash games, from the most popular to the most obscure. The thing is that they’re only playable through downloading the y8 browser, and some of the newer games have ads. The browser itself has been on my PC for almost three years, and so far I haven’t run into any issues concerning my computer.

2) https://www.azdressup.com/

This is mostly a dress up game related website. It doesn’t require you to download anything, and the library of games are a lot smaller. They do have other games like cooking games and time management games, but you’d have to dig to find them. They also have a lot of underrated gems you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else.

3) https://www.newgrounds.com

Newgrounds is definitely my back up site when I can’t find things on Y8. Y8′s flash game library is large, but they obviously don’t have everything. There are entire game series that you can find on Newgrounds, that may have been removed from their original site due to Flash Player shutting down. All you need to do is install the Newgrounds Player add-on to your browser! One thing I did notice while playing games with this add-on, was that the games always seemed a bit glitchy, but the glitches were harmless and the overall game play went smoothly.

4) https://en.jeu-fille.net/

I like this site in particular because the entire layout is so charming. It looks exactly like one of those obscure dress-up game websites I’d play on the family computer. You really just don’t find sites like this anymore, and most of them are usually abandoned, but their copyright is up to date (as of 2023). The people running this site use flash emulators, though the selection is limited since some games still don’t work, it’s kind of a guessing game to see which ones do and don’t. The games that do work take a while to load. All and all, a few games are still better than none.

5) https://www.friv.com/

Friv was a really cool recommendation. You don’t have to download add-ons and browsers to play their games. Their selection consist of both classics and new games. It’s a much more user friendly experience compared to a lot of the sites on this list. 

6) https://www.numuki.com/games/

Numuki has both a library of new-aged games and flash games which are easily accessible directly on the website. However, I’m not sure if my browser is slow or the website itself is. Besides that, there are no other technical difficulties and the games run smoothly.
