"Not unless you want it-" Lexi began, before properly processing what Gilderoy had actually said. "Sorry, what exactly is a lavender wrap? What is it wrapping?" She asked, getting distracted from her initial freak-out. "Whiskey. I definitely need whiskey."

"It's a little sewn bag of uncooked rice and lavender, you can heat it up. Excellent for stress relief and wrinkle prevention." He said. Maybe he still didn't have a bedframe but he absolutely had several lavender bags. "Whiskey it is. I think I saw some in the smoking room, but there's a very rude man in there. It's not too bad if you just ignore him."

"was I dreaming?" felicity asked with a furrowed brow. "no. I heard that music." she was certain of it. "if you heard it too, then it is certainly not in my head only."

"It was odd, like..." He tilted his head and tried to remember even as it faded. "Like something soft, and distant." Gilderoy pursed his lips and then shrugged. "I can't remember more. But I'm glad it wasn't just me."

It had been easy, at first, to avoid her, to laugh it off. It wasn't real, it couldn't be real, but every room she walked into, there she was, and all of the things Lexi's grandmother had ever said to her or about her were ringing in her ears. Had the spectre - or whatever it was - even opened its mouth, or were the words just in Lexi's own head? She didn't know. Eventually, she began to pick up on another voice. One that appeared to be trying to get her attention. "What? Literally, what could you possibly want right now?"

"Do you need a lavender wrap or something?" Gilderoy asked, once more a little sad nothing had been transported here with him. After all he had several lavender wraps sitting right next to his bed. "I think you need some lavender. Or maybe whiskey."

there was music coming from somewhere. it sounded like a lovely melody right outside the window perhaps. a whisper of a song that kept felicity lulled under the heavy influence of a sandman. it felt like she had been sleeping a long time when the cold feeling of being watched suddenly startled her awake. "where did the music go?"

It had taken Gilderoy a moment to place the woman. She was a different sort of beautiful when not outside. Felicity. The one who could play the harp. “You heard it too? In your dreams?” He could barely remember it now.

“Only if they want me to.” He said. “Most of the cast is made up, or far enough away from the actual truth that changing their names changes nothing. Except for the main character, which is me. Well, mostly me. The best me. It takes place in the future, you see? No war, just the adventures of a very charming blond exploring the world and meeting all sorts of magical monsters and the like. Bigger stories broken up into episodes, so it plays out over time.”

She’s actually the main beneficiary in the very unofficial will he has written up and tucked away in his shirt drawer. She’s getting all the paisley. It’s very important.

He’s mildly convinced he can get Sterling to do one of the voices in his new audio drama

In the very early days of his job, he considered flirting with Sterling to get out of most of his responsibilities. Then he saw how Sterling looked at Zoey and gave up

She pulled out a water bottle, took the top off and filled the top with water. “Come here, love.” She guided his head to the small cup like lid. “Just sip. Now one second.” She reached into her bag again, this time armpit down until she heard crinckling. “Ah, this will do. Barf bag,” she presented a good old fashioned paper bag, handing it to him.

“Take another sip, sweet boy.” Millicent rubbed his hair. He was sweating. She flourished her wand and his hair was nice and dry for the time being. “I could do that all day if need be. No need to worry about your hair, you hear me? Sip again.”

It felt nice to have someone touch his hair like this. Then again he’d always been a needy tactile little thing hadn’t he? God he was warm and cold all over. And his arms hurt like hell.

“Feeling ill should be illegal.” He mumbled, fully leaning on her now. Where was Doris? “Thank you. For the water.” He took another sip every time she told him too, because he’d always been good with directions.  “I hate feeling ill.”
