Fabiano FanFiction (21)
Fabioâs POV
I couldnât move. I just stood there in the middle of the hotel room â our hotel room â and kept staring at the scene in front of me. It was Cristiano and Irina. Naked. Together. In one bed.
I opened my mouth, ready to say something but closed it soon after. It must have looked like a fish under water. Jamie was the first to cough slightly: âAhem, no offence to you guys but I would have a few ideas to bolster your bed activities. May I?â Irina, who suddenly was back in reality, fluttered her eyelashes and said âOf courseâ.
I barely noticed Jamie going over to Irina and getting out a tie from his pocket. Instead I just kept staring at Cristiano who stared back. I didnât want to cry, not in front of Cristiano, not in front of our new goalkeeper (whom I have just met a week ago) and certainly not in front of Irina who was a super model. Therefore, I just said: âCristiano⊠well, this is my side of the bed. I thought I could sleep in there this night. You know, I really need my sleep. Iâve talked to the doctor a while ago. The doctor that you recommended me, you know, with the very nice doctorâs office where they also have a tiny aquarium⊠What was his name again? Doctor Do Conde? Oh, funny, he is just called like my home town. You remember Iâm from Vila Do Conde, right? AndâŠâ
âFabioâ, Cristiano said but I wasnât ready to listen. I wanted to tell him about the necessity to sleep in that bed. âAnd he said that I needed sleep. It would be good for my health. Yeah⊠and also good to prevent all those injuries. Can you believe that Iâve missed half of the matches last season due to injuries? I was really surprised when I heard that it might have been the cause of lack of sleep. Haha. I mean I sleep so much. I sleep after training sessions, sometimes on the sofa and also when I relax in the garden. You know, when I didnât sleep? That was funny. It was on a fishing boat. We were fishing on the Atlantic and I wasnât even tired, IâŠ.â âFabio!â, Cristiano screamed and got up. His voice was so loud that I cringed. âThis is different than it may looked.â Different? I looked over to Irina who was now tied to the bed by Jamieâ tie. Tied to my bed. âI mean, I can also go and find a different room. In fact, Iâm going over to the press man from Germany now. Do you know if heâs responsible for our beds? I mean he is so cleverâŠâ With every word I said, I went a step back, closer to the door. Cristiano grabbed his boxer shorts, put them on and was at the door before I could open it. âWaitâ, he said. âPleaseâ.
We stood there. Facing each other. I could feel his breath on my face. Only centimetres away. He smelled like aftershave and champagne. He just smelled like Cristiano. âItâs fine, really!â, I said. âPlease let me out of this roomâ.
Cristiano placed himself in front of the door. âNo. Not until weâve discussed this.â
âThere is nothing to discuss, Cristiano. Really. I said itâs fine and that makes it fine. You donât need to be afraid that I tell Georgina. I can keep secrets, you know?â I tried to smile.
âGeorgina? What?â, Cristiano seemed to be confused.
âI can understand that you donât want to hurt or endanger your relationship. You have three children and probably plan more with her. But I can understand why you did what you did with Irina. She is an old love and there are old feelings. Itâs hard to keep them in check. You know my uncle Bruno was married for 36 years. And he was happily married but then he met a fisherâs widow. They started talking, they fell in love, but Bruno cheated on her with his ex-wife. He told us last Christmas. You wonât believe how surprised we wereâ I started smiling at the thought of Christmas in Villa do Conde. We had the best fish. âBut the point is his new girlfriend forgave Bruno. Theyâre reconciled. In fact, all of them living in the same village now. Not in Vila Do Conde but in the neighbouring village if you want to visit them?â
Cristiano didnât reply at first. It looked like he was thinking about what I said. Iâm sure my family constellations where a little hard for him to understand as Cristiano has never been the best in listening.
âSooo, I really need some sleep. I think Iâll try at Samiâs. He has no friends, you know, and he and I have talked a little. Turns out weâre getting along okayâ
âGod Fabio, please, not the German!â, Cristiano said desperately.
I patted his arm: âDonât look so sad. Itâs going to be okay. Alright? Georgina is a good girl, she would understand if you tried to talk to her. Remember you two are big loves.â I looked up to him. âBoa noite, Cristianoâ, I said, opened the door and left the room.
When I was alone on the corridor, my eyes watered. I could not stop the tears from falling. Everything I had said about Georgina was about me. It was true that I was sad and disappointed, but I could never stop loving Cristiano. Never.
When I walked down the corridor searching for Samiâs room, the last thing I heard coming out of Cristianoâs room, was Jamieâs voice asking: âDo you have a vase-like item somewhere?â
