Remerged my TS4 CC since I downloaded a lot of new stuff and thought it might be interesting to see whatās the actual impact of merging on loading times.Ā
So after having all of the separate files in my mods folder, the game didnāt even start. It switched to the blue loading screen after 38 mins, but eventually crashed after 45 mins.Ā
Merging reduced loading times to 5 mins and 45 seconds.Ā
(My game also runs completely lag-free)
- I have reshade installed which slows down the game and also affects loading times. Therefore, the game would load even faster without reshade.
- How to merge: open Sims4Studio and go to Tools/Merge. Drag and drop the packages that you want to merge, hitĀ āmergeā and save the merged package. Save the separate files somewhere outside the mods folder. Do not delete the separate files ever! Put the merged files in your mods folder and enjoy reduced loading times :D
- If any cc gets broken after a game update, remove it from the separate files and remerge.
- To make sure that no cc is lost while merging, merge up to 200 individual files together and/or try to keep the size of merged packages below 400 MB (however, some people reported that they successfully merged more than 1 GB. I personally experienced the loss of some packages while merging too many files at once)Ā
- I personally do not merge cc that has to be updated from time to time (game mods that affect gameplay or mods like the pose player or wickedwhims, HQ replacements, default replacements, etcā¦ )
