The Advantages of Commuting

Tone: Informal

Purpose: To inform, To express

Commuting to school has some advantages, most notably financial benefits. First benefit falls under housing. A dorm can cost fortunes without the proper furnishing, plus it includes one small and uncomfortable bed. You might wanna add the idea of sharing a room with a stranger, who might as well be a psychopath in the making. Second benefit is the advantage in food. Eating out can be very costly especially if you’re surrounded by temptations, by which it means Fast food! Who wouldn’t want to eat junk foods? Even though it is an unhealthy choice of diet, which can make you sick. And nothing beats a home cooked meal made mom! Plus they knew all your faves! Third is the laundry. You can save a bunch if you regularly go home. Come to think of the detergents, fabric conditioner and bleach that you have to buy. And it is an inconvenience to drag all your clothes, seperate them from whites to nonwhites, and actually do the laundry when you can just relax and let your family do the work. It is physically challenging, okay, I just seriously don’t want to do the laundry, I hate it.

Lastly, commuting may tire you off or drain all your energy but still you will spend the night with your family, which by far lessens your stress as a student because at the end of the day, you have your family as a support for all the struggles that you face.

Manuel L. Quezon says that Filipinos fight for their country with dignity even though the army was not that strong. He sees the Philippines as a nation that gives unity to the people, can stand independently, a nation that is tough that can pass through all the challenges that they encounter on their way, and a nation where strength is success and weakness is failure. As Manuel L. Quezon says “The strength of the nation is strength of its people.” Philippines strength varies to the strength of Filipinos. This strength can be built on character. For the past forty years, we gain prosperity in agricultural aspect and human resource providing manpower generously. Filipino youth are enjoying the blessing of liberty, the independence which they have done nothing to have. Due to the wrong adaptation of foreign customs, smartness was shown to the. but impoliteness too. They didn’t realize that courtesy is a perfect fruit of culture and civilization, for it embrace all the values and in turn nourish and enhance them all. These youths should support , a liability in the social structure, but became burden because of idleness.We should be productive citizen of this nation.In order to attain economic and social advancement.Social code is also needed in allow to general role. Every Filipino should make a change that everyone would benefit— the poor, the rich, and the middle class of this society. Every official in the government should ensure every Filipino people to join. Every Filipino people is a part of existential movement through success.

Compare and Contrast

Disney movies are the favorite when it comes to live-action. And one of those animated movies turned to live action is the Beauty and the Beast. There are minimal differences between the two. The opening scenes are the same, the songs, the physical characteristics of the characters and the famous dance of Belle and the Beast is well performed. The only adjustments made are Belle is the inventor of the family, not his father, the story behind her mother is revealed, the Beast took Belle to Paris through the help of the bewitched book, the explanation of the Beast’s bad behavior is explained, Chip became the only child of Mrs. Potts, the Beast finally sings, the Enchantress is an actual character that lives in town, some tweaks in the spell and lastly the shocking “exclusively gay moment” where LeFou(Gaston’s sidekick) is gay.

Extended Definition

Irisation is the name of the meteorological phenomenon, and it’s caused by interference among light waves diffracted by cloud particles . In the case of irisation, it’s found commonly in the clouds.

Since different wavelengths of light are scattered at different angles, they interfere with themselves causing the colors to be separated out, creating the beautiful phenomenon cloud iridescence or irisation. The differential scattering of wavelengths, shorter being more easily scattered, results to blue skies, and as for red sunsets, more long wavelength red light makes it through.

Books Vs Movies

Books and Movies, two words with similar purpose yet ironically compete over the mass. The beauty of a book lies within its pages. While to have a good movie a skillful cameraman and an editor needs to work together. It takes years to write a book, months to publish, days to read and hours of imagination. On the contrary, movies usually last couple of hours, days on the theatre, months on advertisements and a year or less to shoot. Books feed the imagination of everyone. Yet movies offer the visual representation of the story. The characters and scenes in ink cannot be perfectly transformed to movie scenes. But movie saves time and energy, obviously feeding all the main ideas to the audience leaving less for them to be concerned about.

Bottom line is books and movies both give people the feels. Demonstrate how creative the story writer is. Represent the culture of the country. And most importantly, continues to entertain the mass of every nation.

Cause and Effect Writing Activity

Before typhoon Yolanda hit Philippines, many people have already evacuated but the structure of the building were no match to the strong winds and massive waves because of this it killed thousands and devastated cities and towns. Also, according to Bodeen from Fox News, Philippine officials had not anticipated the 6-meter storm surge which is the main reason for the thousands of casualties.

We attended a contest for the National Science Technology Fair and went home disappointed.

Paced Narration                   

The night before we travel to Tagaytay, we are already excited because of the things that we are expecting. On the 13th of February at 12 o’clock in the morning we started to travel. We didn’t feel sleepy at all because of the mixed emotion of the thrill and excitement. At last! We have arrived. Tagaytay is a cold place but we were greeted and welcomed warmly by our fellow delegates in our region. It is so happy to have new friends. In the next few days the real challenge finally came. We were really nervous to our defense. At the next day, the result came. We were expecting to win because we did our best and we practiced many times but as the saying goes “I did my best but my best is not enough” our best was really not enough. So we went home disappointed, wearing a frown in our face and the van was filled with silence.
