Do you know any specialty that would not require to get so much in contact with the patient but also working in labs or any specialties similar to anestesia for people who are extremely introverts?

This...is all I want
Reblog if you promise to be there for Medblr/Nurblr/Rescublr
I Promise to be there if:
You’ve had a bad call
Its been a long shift
Your patient has taken a turn for the worse
The day is just not going your way
You feel like you could do better
For anything at all, even if its not work related
And especially for the good news and great days
Feel free to message me and I will be there to talk you through anything at all. Don’t bottle it up, and don’t let it eat you. We all chose this life for one reason or another. We all understand what its like to be at the lowest of lows and the highest highs. If you need a shoulder to lean on, I’ll be here.
#meditationproblems #wakeupandmeditate creo que esto nos ha pasado a todos especialmente al principio o en momentos que nos cuesta desconectarnos de las tareas diarias! FELIZ LUNES!
New Mommies
Yesterday during rotation I had the fortune of running into a beautiful 4 kilo newborn baby. I had never seen a newborn baby that big... He was beautiful. The only problem was he was relatively unresponsive, so I immediately ask his new mommy if she had been feeding him, she says,"not since 5am"(it is 9am when this conversation occurs). No milk comes out of her breast so I go look for a breast pump, and while I was away she tells another nurse she has not fed him at all since his birth. When I get back, hearing this news I ask her very politely, "Miss. I need to know which version is true, have you fed your baby and when did you last feed him?" She replies, "Oh! I just fed him from both breasts 20 minutes ago!". By this point I'm getting pretty flustered and get my professor. We took the baby boy to the neonatal care unit and had him examined by the staff there. His glucose levels were dangerously low. It was probably the most frustrating experience I've had in nursing school yet. New Mommies please don't lie to nurses or students or anyone in Healthcare. We are trying to help you and we can only do so if you tell us the truth.
This. Just makes me so happy I can't stop sharing it. A huge win for humanity!
Why can’t I learn this 😖
Studying in bed on a Saturday cuz let's face it... If I have to study tonight I might as well me comfortable 😄📚📑

Nurse on Through to the Other Side
The Good, The (sometimes) Bad, and the Downright Confounding World of Nursing
1. Not all experienced nurses are bullies - some of the kindest souls have been doing backbreaking bedside work for 30 years, with many mind blowing stories of what they’ve seen, and endured, yet they are just as open to learning from others no matter age, rank, or experience. They have a sort of way about them that isn’t arrogant, and just enough self doubt to realize anyone is capable of mistakes - without being self sabotaging. They go out of their way to help the newbie nurses with patience, and understanding of what it was like to be new and frightened. They’re a kind of an inspiration to the rest of us.
2. If you’re introverted or quiet, you’re considered a snob. If you’re assertive - a toughness some people criticize, you’re deemed too confident. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Never mind opinions. You can’t please everybody.
3. Some days no matter how hard you work, it never seems enough, you feel as though all your efforts achieved nothing, and all your attempts to help failed. Some days you just go home and desire the blissful wall of solitude.
.. The Good gives us hope that there is still joy in the world of nursing, not just dissatisfaction or burnout. There’s room to grow. …The (perceived) Bad is what tells us there’s a time to advocate, and there a time to sit back and observe. ….The Confounding maybe suggests that we are reflectively human - there’s honor in admitting defeat, and a will to try again.

6 Simple Ways to Avoid Burnout
Sou
For the greyface who asked me how to avoid burnout.
I am a Nurse. I didn’t become a nurse because I couldn’t cut it in med school, or failed organic chemistry, but rather because I chose this. I work to maintain my patient’s dignity through intimate moments, difficult long term decisions, and heartbreaking situations. I share in the joy of newly born babies and miraculously cured diseases. I share in the heart break of a child taken too soon, a disease too powerful, a life changed forever. My patient is often an entire family. I assess and advocate. Sometimes I wipe bottoms, often I give meds, but that isn’t the extent of what I do. There are people above me, and people below. I work closely with both, without them, I could not do what I do well. I chose this profession and love almost every minute of it. I know I am not alone and I appreciate all of the nurses who work alongside me. Many of them have shaped me into the nurse I am. Someday I will shape others into the nurse they will be. This wasn’t my plan B, it was my plan A, and I would gladly choose it again.

Having a good support group while you're in nursing school is important because they say stuff like this:
Work hard for what you want and once you get it it'll taste like heaven I promise. 😙👭👬👭
