“I halt. I shut my eyes. I remember things. I once knew better times. I was the arrow in motion, the flame, intoxication, flight itself. I dreamed impossible things. I visited out-of-the-way places.”

so! i got a puppy :3c
Covid is not over and black lives still matter. Stop trying to "go back to normal" when shit is still happening.
Stop going on trips and going to restaurants without masks.
Keep educating yourself and protesting and calling and donating and signing petitions.
Wear a mask. End white supremacy. Defund police.
I know it's tiring but it's not over for either thing even though people are pretending it is. I know the overlap is exhausting. But be safe, social distance, and keep fighting the good fight.
“What I should like would be to get out among the fields, sit down and hear the grasshoppers, and take up a handful of earth—”

my pride icon is so stupid but i’m so lazy
just because there aren't as many posts of blm circulating and just because we're slowly posting regular "aesthetic" content again it does not mean you have the right to stop educating yourself on issues that affect black people. continue to educate yourself and others, call out racism when you see it and continue to donate and sign petitions. activism that only occurs when somebody dies or something devastating happens is not proper activism, it is performative. so, just because you aren't posting as much about blm or other issues anymore, it does NOT mean you can go back to being ignorant. continue to stay aware. keep that energy and use it and your privilege to help black people and amplify their voices. us non-black people need to recognise that choosing when to speak up or speaking up when it is big is a privilege and is ignorant and we need to fix this.
Hey, so I’m doing this – if you wanna help, that’d be great!

The first pride was a riot, more specifically a riot against police violence. Trans women of colour like Marsha P. Johnson paved the way for the celebration of pride today. You cannot celebrate your pride this month, or any month if you aren’t also supporting Black Lives Matter and the riots going on against police violence right now. Us white LGBTQ+ need to stand up for our black siblings and their rights, their struggles. We need to amplify their voices and show any support we can.Hey! Better yet, reblog this version:

Simple way to donate to the cause if you have no money to
i understand that not everyone can donate rn even if they really wanted to. i myself am currently unemployed and cannot donate much more than i already have atm !! not donating is okay - pls don’t feel guilty if you do not have the means to do so.
if donating is not a possibility right now, ive found this 1 hour video you can watch on youtube where all proceeds from the ad revenue will go to an organization to help the cause (more info in the video’s description). op has compiled songs and art from Black artists to listen to. you can leave it on to play in the background or plug in earphones and go about your business as usual. it can’t get more simple than that.
as a fandom that’s known to mass stream, it would be amazing if you could channel that energy into watching this video !!!!!
in the comments there are plenty of tips to make sure youre streaming it correctly, here are a few i compiled
TURN OFF ADBLOCKERS & DO NOT SKIP ANY ADS, no matter what they are or how long they are. all money is going to be donated
if you want to do smth else while it plays, do NOT mute the video, mute the tab or use your devices audio settings instead.
do not fast forward or skip
watch with the video on at least 480p with the video players volume on at least half
dont watch it on repeat or on a playlist, if you want to rewatch then watch 3 to 5 of any other videos, then SEARCH this one again to rewatch it
do not clear your watch or search history
if youre on mobile, watch it on the app, not your browser
Pride month starts tomorrow so I just want to remind you that if you don't support BLM and are complaining about 'riots' you are not allowed to celebrate pride month! The birth of pride was the Stonewall RIOTS, rebellion against police violence by black and brown women. There is no gay liberation without black lives. There is no trans liberation without black lives.
#Blackout for Minneapolis. For Louisville. For Toronto. For Brooklyn. #Blackout for Us All.
To the #Blackout Community and Tumblr at large,
We know you must have a lot of questions or are feeling distressed about the news. The world has been dealing with a lot this year, and it is an especially harrowing time for Black Americans and Black folks abroad. We know your biggest question right now could be summed up by a quote from Toni Morrison:
“What can I do where I am?”
Here at #TheBlackout, we have decided to help you start finding an answer to that question - we feel that we need each other. We need unity, organization, a clear sense of direction, but more importantly, a space where you can be yourself without judgement or fear.
So, in addition to boosting your art and businesses, our highest priority right now is to provide you all with resources to help you start from where you are.
This is a masterpost of places you can donate, find mental health + spaces for radical self-care, and just do something fun. We will be adding on as things change.

his companion has come up with a plan. their partnership is one born of necessity, both men caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. the place was a ruined store, whatever once sold on the shelves long since rotted or scavenged. the time was just as a group of feral ghouls began twitching and wheezing themselves out of their dormant state, a sudden obstacle between the men and the only available exit. the partner was a fellow like any other, identified only by the sunglasses he wore. introductions aren’t made, not really the time or place.
the plan, as it is explained to geiger, involves sticking to cover where they can, and climbing up shelves where they need to. the most important thing is remaining undetected. any sound could bring the ghouls on them and even though the men are armed there are just enough enemies to make the outcome uncertain.
it’s kind, geiger thinks, for this man to develop a strategy that sees them both to safety. it would be easier, perhaps, to use geiger as bait, or simply make a mad dash and call it every man for himself. geiger bobs an idle nod, gaze sweeping across what he can see of the store. the door isn’t too far, and the room is long enough for them to make their roundabout approach. his companion points to their first target of cover, a fallen shelf, and begins to mouth a countdown.
geiger stands, ignores the hissed warnings and pleas and demands to know exactly what the fuck he is doing. with careful even strides he passes down the ramshackle aisles and takes an empty tin can along the way. he passes within a few feet of a feral ghoul, whose body twists and twitches, wheezes at his presence. milky eyes blink and roll and land on him --- and then pass, without much note.
geiger turns back to his to the man who watches from where he left him. his free hand lifts to hold up three fingers, two, one ---
the can is tossed in a shallow arc to bang and clatter against the far wall. the ferals rush the sound in a cacophony of hoarse roars, and geiger gestures for the man to use the opportunity provided by the distraction. quickly.
meta questions! @grandzealot asked : geigers thoughts on ' the mother ' and if hed witness her 👀 ( also his island specific visions! )
geiger is fascinated by the mother! this mostly comes from the fact that her presence predates the children of atom arriving at the island. he’d be interested in learning more about her if there was anything else to learn but he’s content with accepting that she is a messenger from atom who watches out for the children.
he doesn’t see her in his visions while drinking from the spring but he sort of ... is aware of her throughout his time on the island. it’s almost like she’s something just out of the corner of his vision or a voice that he hears but when he turns there’s nothing there. since there’s never any physical proof of her presence he theorizes that her body achieved division but her mind / spirit remained to serve atom ( since the spirit is the only thing uniquely belonging to the individual, being that it isn’t physical on a molecular level ).
he has one ( somewhat ) direct interaction with her while meditating, where she came and sat with him. neither said anything or acknowledged the other beyond more than a glance. after a little while she took her leave. after that he understands why she’s called the mother --- she feels familiar to him in a way, and there is a profound sense of comfort in the kinship she experiences while she sits beside him.
personally, i imagine that the mother was once someone very similar to geiger in terms of her relationship with the glow. i headcanon that when he becomes old and his body is failing geiger never properly “ dies ” but instead becomes a part of the glow much in the same way the mother did. that’s part of the reason why she feels familiar to him, although he construes it as a familial feeling she gives off that gave her the title of “ mother ” in the first place.
as for his visions on the island! he has visions that last several days when he drinks from the spring but they’re the only visions he won’t discuss. the best he’ll do is say that he feels as if he’s seen “ too much ” but he’s also not upset by it. still, one dose of spring water is enough for him. in a more run of the mill vision he sees shipbreaker and gets super jazzed about it and will want to go see the creature, not necessarily even fight it. he also sees the form of a man on his knees, his head wreathed in light ( it’s dima, but he doesn’t know that and would never meet dima unless brought to acadia by the sole survivor ).
