Skarloey Railway Humanized Designs (RWS version, 1950s)

Here are my designs for the members of the SR! I had a lot of fun trying to design "uniforms" for them -- Skarloey and Rheneas are still in their 19th century outfits (symbolizing how they've grown old and tired at this point in time before heading out to be mended), while the newer additions are in a more contemporary 1950s style. Rusty, of course, is wearing workwear and some safety gear.

TVS alternate palettes and more under the cut!

I guess, just for fun and curiosity, I made an alternate palette for their TVS counterparts to see what they'd look like in a row! It was simple swaps for most of them (except for Rusty).

I gave Duncan a pompadour because it's the 1950s and, well, he's into rock 'n' roll and all ;) Sometimes I feel like the more I draw him, the more his hair gets bigger... (Also, I gave Duncan bright green eyes to match TR No. 6 Douglas's original livery as a part of the Air Service Construction Corps.)

Finally, here's some further reference for Skarloey and Rheneas's "uniform" -- it's based on 1860s fashion, and I've been thinking about having it so that after returning from their respective overhauls, they'll end up wearing the same standard outfit their other fellow steam engines are. (And, I've also come up with new outfits for the entire railway in the 1980s...)

GOODNESS!! 😳 you definitely weren't kidding when you said your art trade was taking a long time because it really shows how much effort you put into it! the coloring and lighting just give it that perfect, end-of-day summer feeling...and my boys are looking just as handsome as ever even after a sweaty hard day's work! and I can't say enough about how you made their outfits suit the heat and their poses as well!! Decided to draw your awesome Duncan because his design is too perfect. I just HAD to give him his RAF jacket because I am a sucker for anything aviation related, and I love how it ties into his punk like personality.

Got a little creative and designed him an electric guitar. I based it on Elvis' to stick with the classic Rock N' Roll theme you gave him. We'll call it his "Pop Special Tour" wink wink nudge nudge

I also threw in a little doodle of Godred because I love your Culdee Fell boys!!!

Their trench coats are really fitting and the piping around the collar accents it so well. Thank you so much for the art trade! This was so fun!

Oh my goodness!! 🤩 This is the exact sort of punk rock look I imagined for Duncan when I drew him with that jacket, you totally nailed the look! Also can't say how much I love all the detail with the guitar and pose and all...I appreciate how much you dialed in with the rock'n'roll theme I gave him!

Saw your post and maybe I could give suggestion. This might sounds so unserious though...

But Peter Sam and Sir Handel bonding time by squating and just watching snail. Peter Sam be like: "Oh look! look! look! Snail." 😆✨ while Sir Handel be like: "Why am i even here?" 😑

It's fun to do something unserious once in a while! 😆
