I mean, we knew, but it's nice to hear so succinctly
Hey, fellow elder millennials who saw the U.S.-Afghanistan war outbreak followed by three "once-in-a-lifetime" economic recessions in one lifetime and then plague. Let's not be like The Greatest Generation passing on their trauma to Boomers, yeah? There has to be a better way...

Tired: Simon "Ghost" Riley is super depressed. The only other emotion in his repertoire is anger. The military is his whole life. A lone wolf, a machine until he meets Soap, who teaches him to be human again.
Wired: Yes, after clawing his way out of his grave and the death of his family, there was a long time where he dissociated, didn't feel like he was a human anymore, was angry at himself, his life and everything around him, but he learned to cope. He learned to live for the small joys of life. Getting a startled chuckle out of someone with his bad jokes. Eating some of the chocolate he has stored away in his barracks. Taking long bubble baths with a glass of bourbon. Seeing a pair of squirrels on his hunting trips. And finally, a bit reluctantly, letting someone into his life again.

wanted to play dress up :)
My best friend (who's been bearing with my cod obsession for about 2 months, bless her heart) finally caved and watched some clips of the alone mission banter, and her first comment was "Yeah, [Soap] definitely doesn't sound like he's saying 'Sir' as an honorific. That's a pet name if I've ever heard heard one!" Directly followed by "I see why [Ghost and Soap] are shipped together"
Ghost who never really had an extended family, only the few people immediately connected to him and even then they have more painful memories than good.
vs
Soap who grew up swarmed with siblings and aunts and uncles and cousins and nieces and nephews later on and although he has his own issues there as well, they've mostly managed to work things out.
Gonna
Make a new blog dedicated solely to ghost soap shit I make or reblog
