Had a dream last night about...

guess what,

The damn Cod MW4 campaign.

I was Price (first person POV) inside some sort of building (??), and I realized during the dream that I had a sound of a ticking watch literally behind my ear. Like. Behind. My. Ear.

It was so deafening but I guessed in that dream "Oh shit. Price was captured and they implanted a BOMB on his neck!!"

And for no reason Price walked towards the toilet and hide. The men in black started to barge through the fucking toilet door and Price literally 1v20'd (how) the entire goon of soldiers with only a GLOCK. Entirely with the ticking sound playing in my head.

And then Price started running outside to the grassland and shoot some more goons, but got tackled by a guy, and somehow got captured and a CHOPPER Picked him up?? And suddenly he's inside a COD MULTIPLAYER LOBBY?? WITH THE DAMN MENUS AND UI??

And I SUCK at multiplayer, I was sliding eherywhere and all that shit you do on cod multiplayer lobbies. And of course I was the first to DIE and THE BOMB EXPLO--

I wake up. The annoying ticking sound was still there.

Turned out I had my t-rex hand right beside my head, and that hand still had my watch that I forgot to take off during the night.

Well.

Watching the From The Ward videos and the transparency (shown in the Call of Duty's official X account's frequent replies to criticism) really do make my hopes and expectation for MWIV skyrocket. It's pretty clear that they want to do this right. I only hope that the game will come out with a bang.

how did you get your OC Jade to be so popular? Because I have a few of my own cod OCs, but whenever I post about them, they get a max of, like, twenty likes ;-;

I’m just wondering if there’s a certain tactic? Like, do I just keep on posting my OCs until they eventually blow up, or is there something else I need to do?

Hi Anon! Well, to answer that question there's a lot of factors that contributed to her popularity. I can say that it's not only my own endeavours, but also external factors in play.

I was OBSESSED with Ghost - I began drawing Ghost back in 2021 right after BOPS Cold War released. The fandom was not as big as it is right now. But Ghost was largely still a character in the OG's WHO DIED.

I started drawing Jade - I drew a LOT of Jade. Like, a lot of them. I posted almost every day. Jade's bio, Jade's whimsy with the TF141, some memes. I posted mood boards, a small comic, and other things. Consistency was a crucial key. As I said, I was crazy about them, so I didn't mind cranking out drawings and fanfics at that time to the fandom. I also created some funny events like drawing other people's OC's, drawing other's OC's with Jade, and doing Valentine's and Halloween arts with GhostJade.

MWII came out in 2022 - The Ghost that we know and love today was released! That game EXPLODED the internet, and people started finding my GhostJade arts through Google, Pinterest reposters, TikTok reposters, and all that 🤣 My art boomed from there, and I finally tried doing Instagram.

Neil Ellice (Soap's actor), Alain Mesa (Alejandro's actor), and Elliot Knight (Gaz's actor) shared my art on their Instagram - These events literally blasted my popularity in social media. I remember after Neil posted my art ON HIS FEED, I got like 3K new followers in one night. People started finding me even more, and it just snowballed from there.

I included the community - I do yearly requests, asked them what they would like to see from GhostJade (or other characters), first impressions, and all other fun stuff. Basically just all love here.

So there it goes, to summarize everything (I sound like ChatGPT LMAO):

Consistency -> I drew hundreds of arts in the past 4 years with CRAZY consistency at the first 2 years. I listened to the fandom. What they like, what they want to see from me, etc.

Luck -> What I didn't have any part of is the people who reposted my art and the actors who reshared my art. I didn't have ANY part in that I can tell you 🤣 It was quite literally luck.

Timing -> Call of Duty has always been a big game, but not as a fandom at that time. MWII's rise to popularity played a big part in Jade's recognition.

Well, the hard part is, everything that goes up must come down. MWIII didn't quite hit the mark back in 2023 (short campaign, bad marketing, Soap's death, half-cooked story, etc.). The next game was BOPS Gulf War (which had a phenomenal campaign btw), followed by BOPS7 which was... odd.

It seemed like CoD lost its way, and a lot of the fandom creators went to other games (reasonably). So posting about MW in 2024- early 2026 is like talking to the abyss 🤣.

With that being said, don't worry about the likes and reblogs. PLEASE don't compare yourself to my numbers. I was CRAZY, OBSESSED, and most of all LUCKY.

Please draw your OC's for fun. Interact with other people's OC's. Give out and spread love in the fandom. Continue developing your OC and keep doing stuff with them!

And I'm very very sure Gaz is gonna play a big part. It's only one (1) reveal trailer, so of course the devs are keeping their cards close at the moment. There's a lot to reveal in the next few months, I'm certain.

Plus, Jeff Negus (the Narrative Director of MW19) is back to direct this game! It'll be a crescendo from here hopefully.
