AM: I wish I felt the same way you do.
RLB: I know I can't change your mind.
fcntomex:
Jean-Phillipe knows it’s not as simple for everyone else, that they can’t all simply drop their lives and avoid situations like this. There’s some kind of advantage to having no fixed identity in society, but it doesn’t work like that for everyone. “Because those opinions are important, of course.” He snorts, shaking his head. “Remy, those people don’t matter. They think it’s best because their lives won’t change, why would that matter?” He smiles at the idea of running away to avoid this ridiculous registration. It’s not the worst idea, as far as Jean-Phillipe’s concerned. “Anywhere you’d like. Except Paris.” He says as he reaches for Remy, pulling him closer. “Of course I’m worried about this face, especially with the way you keep frowning.”
REMY DOENS’T QUESTION WHY he doesn’t want to go to Paris, even if he would find that fun. There was an entire world for them to explore. He nods his head as he listens to his boyfriend though. “Anywhere, huh? How about somewhere warm?” He knows that’s vague, but it sounds nice. “I can work on my tan. Ya think we could find one of dem nudist beaches so I can get a full body tan?”
fcntomex:
Jean-Phillipe knows they’re here for a job and he’s slightly off-job right now, but they have some time before he really needs to refocus. Which is fortunate considering he’s not fond of the idea of watching someone flirt with his boyfriend. At least the woman finally takes the hint, and Jean-Phillipe doesn’t spare her a second glance as she wanders off to waste someone else’s time. “Apparently she was struck by your charm. We really need to do something about that.” He says with a chuckle as he picks one of the cards from Remy’s hands. “What exactly was going on?”
REMY DOESN’T SAY ANYTHING WHEN JEAN-PHILLIPE plucks a card from his hands. He puts the rest of them away into his pocket. They were still working technically, but they have time before they have to continue with what they were up to. “I can’t exactly turn it off like a switch ya know? I'll work on it, babe.” He says and sighs a bit. “I was trying to cause a distraction for ya! She was starin’ at you.”
artfullyxdodger:
“Flights from Asia come into LAX,” he said. “The money is stored there for 24 hours before it gets overnighted to the Fed, so we’d have a very small window in which to do this.” He pointed at another paper on the corkboard that took up half his wall. “I just need to crack this algorithm. You know anyone who could help with that?” He shook his head. “Actually, I’m the one who could help with that.” He turned back to it. “I just don’t know where to start.”
REMY WAS LIKING THE SOUND of that, the grin only growing on his face. “Now dat is a trip we can easily make, Los Angeles isn’t dat far away.” He hums softly as he rubs his fingers against his chin thinking about it. “Twenty-four hours isn’t a problem, we can do dat. If anyone can do dis you can, is there anything I can do to help?” He offers since maybe that was a good place to start.
@gmbit liked for a starter!!
Dodger was speaking animatedly with a drink in his hand, the contents of the glass sloshing over onto his fingers. He didn’t care, however, just lifting the glass to his lips to take another swig as he paced back and forth in front of the large blueprints he had stolen and tacked onto the wall, along with flight schedules and pictures of the airport key cards and uniforms. “So, you know how Americans go abroad and exchange money? Well, that money has to get back here some way—and I hear—” He slammed his hand against the board. “There’s a flight, every week, carrying millions in unmarked bills. It gets kept in a hangar at the airport until the Fed comes and picks it up, but we’re going to get in the middle of that.” He took another swig from his drink. “Millions in unmarked bills, Rem, we’d be set.”
REMY STOPPED PICKING at his fingernails as he looks up to watch Dodger while he’s talking. There’s a grin on his face as he watches, seeing how passionate he was about this. His body moves away from the wall to get a better look at the blueprints that were pinned up, observing all the information. “Yeah?” He questions, liking where this was going. He doesn’t flinch when the hand slams against the board. “Millions? Are ya sayin’ we’d be rich? You could ave started off wit dat.” He teases looking back to the bored. “Which city does dis airport exist in?”
fcntomex:
Jean-Phillipe can’t help but chuckle softly at Remy’s words. “That’s better.” He says with an amused tone of voice, though he knows this is serious. Remy has a life to lead, he doesn’t exactly operate in the shadows or the background the way Jean-Phillipe does. “It’s just a ridiculous announcement, nothing is in place. And if it does come to that - remember I have a flying nervous system. What’s stopping us from simply flying away from it all?” His smile fades a little at the mention of Bart. Considering the speedster’s history with the police, this new isn’t going to be easy for him. “I’ll check on him soon. I don’t think this news will be easy for him. Right now I’m more concerned about the number of wrinkles you’re going to develop if you keep frowning like that.”
REMY DOESN’T LIKE THE IDEA of signing his name away like that, besides he wasn’t hard to find if they really wanted to figure him out. They shouldn’t need him signing some paper for that, but it wasn’t just about that. It’s what it stands for. “Ridiculous announcement indeed, but it was a hit apparently wit de people dat attended de party.” He sighs as he runs his fingers through his hair. “We could go anywhere, love de sound of dat.” He smiles at him though, standing up off the bed to get closer to him. “You worried about dis face? Don’t worry my skincare routine is top notch.”
fcntomex:
Jean-Phillipe does his best to try and live above or away from the law, but he knows this will effect Remy so it’s not as simple as that. A frown spreads across his features as Remy tells him of the news, the registry - something he can easily avoid, but it may not be so for Remy. “You don’t have to do anything, Remy. They can’t force you to give them that information.” He answers sternly, crossing the room to his boyfriend and reaching to take the phone out of his hand. “Remy.” He says quietly, setting the phone down and taking his hands instead. “You don’t need to worry about the police, if you don’t want to. There are ways around it. How do you think I’ve lived my life as freely as I have?”
REMY WON’T BE ABLE TO AVOID the police after the registry starts, he’s well aware of that. His eyes were a giveaway as to the fact he was a mutant, it was from the moment he was born. “I’m not signing anythin’, dey can fuck off.” He says simply as suddenly Jean-Phillipe had this hand put into his. “Jean-Phillipe.” He replies softly. “I guess it’s a good t’ing I’m sneaky. What about dat boy of yours? De fast one?” Remy points out since from his knowledge that he’d be affected by all of this too.
@fcntomex !!
REMY LOOKS UP FROM HIS PHONE as he glances at his boyfriend who was on the other side of the hotel room. “You hear de news? Dey are goin’ forth wit de registry. Mutants, metahumans, and vigilantes will have to register.” He puts the phone down on the bed, and pushes his hair back with a grown. He can handle being arrested, it wouldn’t be the first time cops have pushed him around. “De police are goin’ to be my new best friend when we go home, can’t wait.” The sarcasm is dripping off his words as he says them.

AM: Of course I regret it
AM: I wish I could take it all back
RLB: Then I don't think you're an awful person.
RLB: C'mon now.

AM: No.
AM: But I didn't stop it.
RLB: Do you regret it?
fcntomex:
The way the woman reacts to his presence only confirms his suspicions - of course, Remy would be using his charming abilities for this mission, but that doesn’t mean Jean-Phillipe has to like seeing it. He would much prefer for both of them to find another way to their target, even if that would be more difficult, than watching Remy flirt with some ridiculous woman. “You are too kind, mon cher.” He says, flashing a smirk over to the woman despite her clearly disgusted expression at his interruption. Still, he watches on in amusement while Remy completes her trick, half-amused and half-irritated at her fluttering, overdramatic response. “I think you’re very talented. Talents which are wasted on certain present company.” He says, making it extremely clear of what he thinks of the woman and the way she’s fawning over his boyfriend.
REMY WILL ADMIT TO FINDING it irritating how the woman doesn’t get a hint, but if she continues there’s no doubt in his mind that Jean-Phillipe will put an end to it. He has always loved putting on a show, this wasn’t any different. He didn’t have a reason to keep the act going though, but there’s a smile still spread over his face. The woman turns to look at him with another disgusted face, and then must have decided it wasn’t worth it since she turns to leave after thanking him for the drink. “I thought she would never leave.” Remy chuckles as he looks back to his boyfriend.

AM: That's not true now
AM: You saw what I did. The mayor...
RLB: Did you actually do it?
fcntomex:
The heist seems to have been going well for the most part. Of course it made sense for Remy to attract attention, it was something he was particularly good at. Jean-Phillipe, meanwhile, was better at staying out of people’s line of site, his misdirection particularly useful if anyone happens to get too close. He’s making his way towards back offices so he can find the safe and take the contents within when he hears a particularly enthusiastic giggle across the room. He turns to see Remy going through one of his card tricks with some woman, and before he can stop himself he’s crossing the room to the pair of them, a stubborn expression on his face. “Looks like an interesting trick, do you mind if I join in?”
REMY IS SHUFFLING THE CARDS after she picks one. “Now chère, don’t let me see de card, for your eyes only, oui?” He says all too confident considering he knew cards better than anyone so this was the perfect game for him. His gaze doesn’t change when he sees that Jean-Phillipe walked over. The woman doesn’t seem happy that they had company considering the dirty look she flashes him, but then she’s faking a smile. “Sure, whatever.” Remy offers a genuine one to his boyfriend. “Bien sûr.” His gaze looks back at the cards then to her. “Just slip it back in anywhere.” The blonde sides her card in the middle of the deck, another giggle leaving her lips as she’s pushing her hair behind her ear. Remy shuffles the cards again, and holds one out into the air. “Dis is your card, non?” Which results in an audible gasp. “How did you do that?” He slides the cards back into the pocket of his coat. “I don’t reveal my secrets. What did you think?” He turns to ask Jean-Phillipe with a smirk.

AM: Then I did a horrible thing
AM: I just don't want you to remember my by it
RLB: You have done far more good than just one bad thing
@fcntomex !
REMY TWIRLED A PLAYING CARD BETWEEN his fingers, a smirk spread over his lips as he looks at the woman standing in front of him. He was working on a heist with his boyfriend, which required him to be a distraction. He uses his abilities to shuffle the cards in the air between his hands. All of the cards putting on a show. “Now, pick a card, any card.” He says proud of himself to show off, but hoping this was buying Jean-Philipe enough time. It was easy for Remy to charm someone. Which proves to be working since the woman giggles as she pulls one out of the air.
