Disjointed memories
Post-Production Time
I am using Adobe Premier Pro CS5 to edit my videos, sound, and special effects. I have used Final Cut Pro in the past so this has been a little stressful; however, both programs are somehow similar and it just takes a little time to get back on the wagon. I would like to create and use my own videos, but I am trying to simulate military combat action without looking too amateurishly. I might have to use a few public videos and sound to achieve a high quality combat feeling.

I know it’s been a little while since I’ve posted, but that is because I actually took a Spring break! The mental and physical rest was good, and this weather has got me working very hard on my project! I started experimenting with my handmade flax paper inside the glass windows. I think they are really beautiful, and I am happy with them so far. I am still playing with how I want them to fall inside the windows, and if I want them draped over the sides, but I will definitely be using the paper inside!
Its tough to say who made this; the art building and the engineering building are right next to it.

Middle Sequence on Process…
These are some of the scenes that will happen right after the baby is sleeping of my previous video:Â
It will transition from this scene to the baby drawing, to show how the kid draws his future, but it will quickly disappear after the fetus is erased.Â

This is the first step in experimenting with foam, and how to cut, bevel, and build the structures for my mask. It’s lightweight and pretty durable to a point. I want to use it a a screen for my final installation. The white works well as a screen, and since I have a 3D Model of the face in maya, I can use that as a template to project on all the faces.
Watch as the animation form of the Aesop Fable The North Wind and The Sun comes alive. Our Senior Show participant will animate three characters: North Wind, The Sun, and the Traveler.  The Sun and The North Wind argues who is the strongest. So the Sun suggests whoever makes the traveler take his cloak off is considered the strongest. The moral of the story is “kindness effects more than severity.”
Last Digital Drawings…
Here are the other scenes towards my middle sequence animation.
I will begin to animate them this week in after effects. I tend to add the “write-on” tool so the audience could see as if the kid was drawing his past and future.Â
Excellent concept coming along nicely by one o our participants in the Mason Senior Show this spring.
Since we are a class of artists and another class of designers - we share in the responsibilities of putting a senior exhibition together. In this photo one of the classes are trying to decide on one of the Designs for our Show Poster and other materials...
You gotta love the helpful folks at Home Depot. I set out to purchase 8 sheets of 36x48” plexiglass to serve as the mounting structure for the canvas plates. In my previous experiments I used spray...
Windows! Last week, I drove out to the boonies in Maryland to pick these awesome, antique windows up. There are nine of them in total. They are absolutely incredible. They are exactly what I am looking for. They’re a picture catalyst for some of my poetry and text for my project. This week, I am going to start to alter them. Some of them I am going to drip tar down like I have been experimenting with on the plexiglas. Others, I am going to experiment with white chalk and charcoal. Looking forward to seeing what happens!!!

Bubblewitches Blue + Pink Shirt
Progress on one of the two (possibly?) all-around printed shirts I’ll be making. The bubblewitches Blue and Pink will also grace the packages of a bottle of seltzer and a pack of bubblegum, respectively. The design of Pink came very naturally (pink is my favorite color <3), but I had a hard time getting the right hues for Blue. What I ended up doing was using a hue filter in photoshop to alter the colors of Pink and make adjustments to her skin tone. Those creepy hand-shaped silhouettes on the shirt will be holding bubble wands that’ll be dispensing colorful bubble-ish tomfoolery all over the shirt. It looks like I’m almost done, but since I need to make it in a resolution high enough for printing, I plan on re-tracing all the lineart by hand, scanning, smoothing, and re-coloring the whole design. As lengthy as that sounds, it’s a shortcut compared to learning how to use vector graphics or steady my hand on a tablet well enough to make smooth lines.
