Grim nodded and shakily reach into his pocket before pulling out a small round object, he held it up so Gnarly could see the ring a bit better and cleared his throat.

"I wanted to do this right," he said, "You want to marry me?" His voice was shaky and nervous for no reason, of course Gnarly would say yes, he was already his husband after all, but they were unable to get each other rings the first time around. He wanted to do something right for once.

Gnarly leaned forward to look down at Grim with an unreadable expression. For a second he's a teenager again. An orphan of the state. Being shoved from abusive home to abusive home. How lonely and angry and filled with hate he'd been. Then he saw Grim. Someone just as angry as him. Their anger could be felt and reciprocated in a way he'd never felt before.

And they'd never been apart since.

"Man." he scoffed, then laughed a short sharp laugh before pulling Grim into a tight hug. "Yeah. I guess I wanna marry you again."

"Maybe you're right, i just hate leaving her anywhere," Grim replied. " and I don't know, nowhere fancy, maybe just the park or something? obviously we can't do it in a church. But these days people get married anywhere, hell we could have a wedding at Salty's! The location doesnt matter to me as much as having you and Vi and our friends all there."

Gnarly nodded a little as he reached down to take hold of Grim's hand in his own, giving it a squeeze. "Kinda matters that both grooms be present at weddings after all. Or uh, vow renewals. And we can dress Vi up all cute like too, she's gotta play a part." he added.

Grim hesitated, that was true, they didn't have many people who could watch her, and he didn't trust daycares or nannies.

"Maybe I could take her with me??" he proposed, "Certainly nobody would mind, she's so small and cute!" Grim sighed.

"I don't want a big wedding, i just want... our friends to be there, because we have friends now! Other than each other i mean." Grim snuggled closer as Gnarly wrapped an arm around him.

"Don't think it's bout her bein cute Grim. Babies and work don't mix good." he was stuck between a rock and a sharp place. On one hand he wanted Grim to get out there and have a life outside of baby mode, but leaving baby unattended or potentially in danger at a job? I mean, how close did they come to dying that one time?

Imagining it happening to her was horrific.

"Well yeah we know more people now. That's true." Gnarly trailed a hand up Grim's head to curl a hair around one of his fingers in thought. "Where'd you wanna do it though?"

Grim made a squemish face. He was caught.

"What are you talking about? It just came up in conversation and i was thinking we could use a vacation!" Grim replied, scooting closer. "It doesn't have to be EXPENSIVE, and of course I could try getting a job now that the baby is a bit older..." Grim was trying to search for words. "But our wedding was so... not a wedding... and nobody was there to see it so it's like it never happened at all..."

Seeing him scoot closer, Gnarly let the crushed can fall to the floor so he could loop a long thin arm around Grim, pulling him closer still until he could rest his head atop his.

"Yeah I know. I was there man. It was an office building with a homeless man we paid off with beer to be our witness." he knew it wasn't a fancy wedding. None of them had been able to afford anything more than that, plus he hadn't thought Grim wanted a big fancy wedding in a church.

"...who'd watch her while you're at work though?"

Grim looked up from his phone, Pimling and Dompler had been sending updates from their honey moon, and as happy as he was for them he was also a tad jealous. He was only eighteen and homeless when he got married. He and Gnarly had saved for weeks for the marriage liscence so the only honey moon they got was a weekend stay at the local Motel 7.

"Hmm, peculiar," he said out loud, looking out of the corner of his eye at Gnarly. "Pimling was JUST telling me about how you can renew your vows, even if you've been married before already. I bet you could also get a honeymoon redo."

Gnarly, home for the evening at last, was sat on the couch with a half finished can of drink. Heavy bags hang under his eyes, no real difference there, as he lifts the drink to his lips but pause as Grim talks.

Looking at him he raised an eyebrow.

"...you wanna redo our vows don't you. Going to the wedding set off some chemical in ya brain, like how seeing our baby set off HIS brain wanting one." taking a deep sip, he finishes the drink and crushes it against his forehead.

"How much is that gonna cost us though?"
