Love your pokewardens au! It's verrrrry interesting! You said that to turn back, the warden needs to, basically, gain a bit of personal character growth. What ends up being Ingo's?

Also- tiny fluffy baby birb Sabi with what amounts to Bird Dad Lord Braviary is adorably amusing.

And yup! Overcoming a personal problem is what seems to trigger the switch back, and for Ingo that ends up being his memories! It takes quiiiite some time in the story (as well as some time travel cough) for any progress on getting them back to happen, so for most of the time he has just the vague memories of his beloved partner pokemon and of the man in white.

As for Sabi she does end up turning into a braviary! she's a bit smaller than other braviaries and seems to have a rufflets fluffly neck feathers, looking similarly to a rufflet who evolved too early.

And for Lord Braviary i imagine he's one of the younger lords currently in Hisui, so i'd say it's more of a "older brother who's 10ish years older than you" type of relationship. Still responsible for taking care of Sabi but also with a bit of silly banter.

My pieces for the @Fiddauthorscrapbookzine, personally this was my first ever zine, but i had a great experience with it! Really recommend checking it out, there's hundreds of pages of wonderful pieces of art and writing to check out!

for your Poke!Wardens AU, are any other warden's swapped? There's several good options! Also idk if Paluina or Iscan being swapped would be better cuz Paulina is tradgey in motion with maybe some healing but Iscan is very fun, skittish man turned into ghost fish lol

Yes! all ride pokemon (ik i've called them nobles previously, and while they aren't called that in game i still consider them nobles lol) and their wardens end up switching bodies! which means Iscan is the one who got swapped in this situation.

Also i hope u don't mind, but i'll be using this ask to go in more detail abt this specific swap! (under the cut cuz it's a bit long xP)

Considering his fear of ghosts this ends up! not being great! Unlike Ingo and Calaba who managed to stay relatively level headed right after the swap, Iscan ended up... panicking. a wee bit.

This is mostly due to the fact that when turned into such a powerful ghost type pokemon he gained the ability to sense other ghosts/spirits, INCLUDING the ones that make up a basculegions body.

That is to say, he got spooked by his own tail.

(to be fair, the utter confusion of a body change PLUS being suddenly able to instinctively sense ghostly presences WHILE being deathly scared of them is not a good combination)

All of this confusion of a new body and senses led Iscan into a sort of ""frenzy"", in which he kept trying to flee endlessly from himself.

as for Lord Basculegion, they where luckily close to the land, so they managed to wash up into to shore (moslty) fine...!

They eventually made their way more inland where Palina eventually found Them.

Palina was in the area when the swap happened and became very concerned when she saw a bolt of energy show up in the coastlands, quickly followed by what seemed like a rogue basculegion swimming in nonsensical patterns near the coast. On her seach for Iscan she found Lord Basculegion, who quickly explained the situation to her.

She helped them to get to the Diamond settlement, a bit doubtful of their claims but also not wanting to leave a injured person to fend for themselves, only to discover when she gets there that what they said is in fact true, because it seems Mai and Lord Wyrdeer have also switched species at that time.

It's only after Akari and Rei quell kleavor and lilligant+helped out Mai and Calaba that Iscan gets help, Adaman caling in for their help in getting him to calm down.

At that point, he has tired a lot from constantly running from himself and his fears without even sleeping and only stopping to eat offerings left by Palina and Lord Basculegion, which made him even more paranoid that he was being followed by something and worsened his jumpiness even more.

So the plan to help Iscan ends up consisting of locating him and trying to use the hypnosis move, simple right? haha... yeah no.

He ends up fleeing from the twins, who then end up on a chase after him with akari's newly evolved samurott and Rei's Yanma, trying to get the move to hit.

in the end, they do manage to hit him and get him to sleep, moving him closer to land. This luckily works, as when he eventually wakes he's way calmer, with Palina and Lord Basculegion helping him settle into his new body without panicking.

eventually, a while after getting used to being in a new body, Iscan manages to learn to lessen his fears and tolerate ghosts present near him, which is what triggers the change back for him and Lord Basculegion.
