Hey everyone! I'm Kou Lukeman and this is my art Blog! I mostly paint Satyrs, Kingdom Hearts, Dark Souls and Destiny Fanart. Trying out some new things!

This week's speed painting! I tried a bit of a different approach with this one, I feel like I have some better ideas for how to approach more involved paintings though! I’ve also had a kind of rough week so painting this was a little therapeutic!

another speed painting/portrait study I did today.

Figure study/speed paint, 5-29-19.

Dating it so a year from now I can look back and see where I’m at! I’m really trying to focus on getting better so I’ve been doing anatomy and figure studies to warm up when I’ve been painting.

Portrait study:

Wishing you could I could add some flaming hot emojis to that title, I'm very pleased with how this one turned out. This is a portrait study I did, with a particular focus on the planes of the face. I've been trying to look at how Magic: the gathering artists paint characters like plainswalkers, and the videos I could find they painted the faces of their characters with the geometry of the face very much in mind. I still have a ways to go, but I feel like today I made some really great strides in my technique!

“Spectre”

A new character I created named Spectre. I’m kind of building a story around him and another character named Aught. Where as Spectre is more angelic and socially unaware, Aught will be more demonic and extremely emotional. Just kind of tossing ideas around for them both right now lol I like the idea of him being pretty stoic throughout all situations, but then with the kind of face he’s making in this photo going to extreme and ridiculous measures for sweets and candy, like the matcha pockey he is holding (ie robbing a bank, going through walls instead of using the door right next to him, etc)

An eye study I did this morning. Eye studies are probably my favorite art studies to do :) Eyes have always been my favorite part of drawing and painting, ever since I was a kid. I did take some stylistic liberties, but overall I’m fairly pleased with how it looks.
