I am delighted to announce that I illustrated the Despicable Me 3 Storybook! The project was a blast and I had a lot of fun.

The bottom two illustrations were my tests sent in when I was approached abotu the project. We didn’t go with this style but it was still a great project overall!

Moana’s out in theaters today!

After animation wrapped on Big Hero, I had the opportunity to help out with design on Moana.  One of my assignments was to design the village kids from her island of Motunui.  I hoped to bring a sense of authenticity to how they looked, and to make them real for me I thought a lot about watching my little cousins grow up back in the Philippines=)Thankful for them!

Now, let me show you some researches for the other character of my short-movie : Boru ! The faithful, optimistic and cheerful companion of Umio.           Boru used to be human before but since the environment changed a lot, his body adapted and mutated to another form, half-fish and half-human. I’ve taken the koi carp as an inspiration for this character, the bright colors of red, orange and white were amazing contrast to the blues of the sea and sky. At first, I wanted to show in the storytelling some glimpses of the old body Boru used to have but after hearing good advices from teachers and friends, I threw away this idea.
