Writing Prompt

Just a passing odd thought after a conversation with my bestie:

You had your life saved as a child by your "grandfather" and you inherited his necklace. As you get older, you realize you have the power to resurrect a fresh-dead creature, a rabbit in this instance. It died of a heart attack, literally scared to death. The words, "Clean heart, fresh start" echo in your thoughts as this happens, and the rabbit runs off. You also realize that in doing this act, you have physically aged 10 years.

You also come to realize that you do not have this power unless you are wearing this heirloom necklace, and the need to use the necklace again is very compelling.

Item: Cursed Necklace of Resurrection. User can resurrect any creature so long as conditions are fully intact and not decomposing. If any organ is damaged, this item will not attempt the spell. Upon successful cast, user ages 10 years. User is then cursed with Unshakable Urge to empty the cursed item of charges. 5 charges. On final charge, user must bless the item on last creature resurrected. User then dies and charges reset. User may bless this item on any other creature so long as the user has not spent a charge on the necklace.

It’s a bit annoying that the way Tumblr works means I can’t really edit the original post in a meaningful way so I thought I’d make a new and more comprehensive one instead, with the relevant page from the lore book.

Chapter 3, finished!! I just counted the finished pages, and this is ALSO page 119 of the story! Which is insane. I'm like MAYBE a third of the way through the story? Maybe a fourth of the way? Holy crap.

Hyper fixations are something else, I swear.

Anyway, thank you SO much, everyone who's been reading, and reblogging and commenting! It really does help, and it motivates me like crazy!

I had also planned to start working on a physical book when I hit about 120 pages and. Wow I genuinely didn't think I was there yet. Maybe I'll start working on the book cover on stream sometime? We'll see!

Anyway, next chapter, we finally cut back to Simon, and see what he's been up to! I like to take a lot of time with my paneling, a lot of quiet moments and things like that. It does result in longer chapters, but I think its better for pacing, ESPECIALLY when building tension and with character focused stories. As you can probably tell, I like to focus on character's internal struggles and facial expressions, too.
