In Food Wars, there was a lot of opinions on the ships, which is so weird to me. It's like fighting about fairy tail ships, it's so implied it feels weird to ship them with others. I get the appeal of Megumi and Souma, it's just the implication with Erina is strongly hinted at its hard to picture. I honestly see her being his best man.

Souma is the type of character who is always working on that next goal, traveling and challenging himself. Meanwhile I picture Megumi wanting to settle down and work her hospitality in one place. Maybe taking over for gin doujima.

But honestly if you'd rather them be together than go for it. That's what I love about stories that don't give a conclusive ship. It's implied, but if you'd rather imagine it different you can. Even when it comes to pairs like Ryo and Alice or tsukasa and rindou. You can headcanon whatever works best for you.

My point being there's no need to hate on someone for having a different opinion. All are valid and possible and you should picture it in whatever way you enjoy the story more. Don't let people dissuade you because the author intended it a certain way, your version is valid.
