still can't believe curse of strahds over…. yesterday charlie and i were like (deltarune tomorrow voice) strahd dies…. Tonight!!!! and then he did that. COMPLETELY fucked. like absolutely mental. that bitch is DEAD dead, so dead in fact that sergei neutralized the dark powers so he would be turbo dead. strahd is in super hell right now
overall i am definitely still marinating in the feelings of finishing this campaign after nearly (checks watch) 4 and a half years. uh. yeah the finality has not quiiite set in yet but fuck that was a lot. this campaign survived almost the entirety of my bachelors degree, several relationships (for myself as well as my players), multiple jobs, a brief stint living in another country, and also multiple friendships breaking down resulting in our party composition changing (it is fine in the end i really cherish all the current party and look forward to future campaigns witb them!!!)
altogether we played 75 numbered sessions. which is about 25-30% longer than curse of strahd is supposed to take as far as i'm aware. granted there were very long, long stretches of time where we didn't play for various reasons, but cos has always been hovering in my hindbrain ever since i first played in 2020 (which by the way. christ how has it been 6 fucking years, oh my god)
basically uh in summary my whole adult life has been cos, strahd will twist my dick for the rest of eternity and forever. fuckin haaaaaaaaate that guy
