Storms
@thepossessedwingedpuffballās world has been intruded The young man trudged through the forests, feeling his way around the rough bark of each tree, the light poking of each branch as he gripped his scythe, cutting down whatever material happened to be in his way as he moved forward. The smell of the forest was very different. This was no ordinary forest, for one. The scent of magic and shadows entered his nostrils as his milky white eyes narrowed, trying to focus his senses. There was a fluttering of wings and the distant chirping of animals, but one sound caught his attention more than anything else. The rumbling of water. It wasnāt lost on him that the pressure in this area was dropping, and the faint scent of a thunderstorm loomed in the distant, and finally the sound of thunder echoed. Bryan grunted. Iām going to have to seek shelter, but I havenāt mentally mapped enough of this area. The ground hasnāt increased in elevation nor the texture of the sand has changed. I might be out of luck. Another chirp caught his attention, closer this time, and his head tilted around to focus on what exactly it was. Bryanās sightless eyes passed right over something out thereā¦
Kasi, despite meeting some nice humans, still has a fear of men.Ā
She had decided to gather some sticks to start up a fireplace in her tree so that she would stay nice and warm throughout the upcoming storm.
However, the scent of a man caught her.Ā
Frightened, she chirped aloud and leaped away from them, but when she realizes that he was drawn more toward the river, she proceeds to collect some more sticks and twigs when a bird high up on a tree branch just feets away from him chirped.
The bird caught his attention before noticing her despite his blindness.
Wait⦠Is he blind?
Kasi flinched when he noticed her. She quickly held onto her hoard as she chirped alarmingly at him and flew up out of his reach, yet watched him from above.
He canāt reach her, can he?
There was something out there, and he wasnāt too terribly keen on them being around. He could hear the sound of chirping, but there was something else he could sense. Especially the subtle crackling of twigs and branches. They seemed particularly light, but he couldnāt make any judgement on that. Bryan spun his scythe, contemplating his choices, before he whipped around, heading to the edge of the river as he sat down, trailing his fingers in the water. It was cold, fine, rushing, and as he trailed his fingers on the sand that marked the edge of the river, he could tell he was fairly close to a river source. āTemperate, cool weather. Probably higher up in elevation. Unusually sounding animals. Typical higher elevation thunderstorm activity. I wonder; where am I?ā His eyes traveled behind him where the young puff was, almost acting as if he knew she was there. Did he? It was hard to tell for the man.
Coffee Shop Blues
@reloh-tiem-how-can-i-help-youās world has been invaded. Bryan felt extremely out of place in this particular world. For one, he was much, much taller than most of the citizens, and despite his inherent blindness, he felt it. Most of the locations seemed to fit those a good few feet smaller than he was and he was beginning to wonder just what and where he was. A few questions later, and he came up with the conclusion that wherever he stepped out of the Void, it was not earth. Through the extreme blurriness of his eyesight he could tell it was very green and colorful, and there was always some sort of sweet scent or food in the air. Compared to the darkly dressed blind six foot tall man, Bryan was completely out of his league. So Bryan decided to mull over his situation in a coffee shop. He wasnāt sure how, but it was a drink that was familiar to him. Too bad he had to ask someone what it was. How embarrassing. So as soon as he stepped in the coffee shop, he paused a moment, stared forward, opened his mouth, closed it, then decided to further himself the humiliation of dealing with his situation. āIf you have a menu that uses braille or something similar, or can speak the menu items to me, I would appreciate it, thank you.ā
The shop wasnāt as busy as usual, with only a few customers sitting around chatting with each other. Reloh was cleaning shot glasses to prepare for the night, not listening to the conversations of those around him. He did notice the small wave of gasps as the door opened, and that was enough to make him look up and see what the fuss was about.
He wasnāt exactly sure how to react to the man who just walked into his shop other than take a moment to stare along with the other customers. He had never seen someone this tall, and it was a bit⦠jarring, to say the least. He had to crane his head back just to look at his face! Of course, hearing their question snapped him back into reality before he asked questions of his own.
āW-welcome to Edge Coffeehouse, sir. The seats are to your left and forwards a bit. Iām afraid there are no Braille menus, though I wouldnāt mind reading out the options. Could you name the sorts of flavors you would like to help give me a better idea of what you might like?ā
Reloh wasnāt taking any chances cracking jokes or asking any more questions than needed, though he definitely had many. Considering this guy could probably deck him in one punch he did NOT want to risk pissing him off or getting on his bad side.
He noticed people leaving, packing their things in a hurry. He wasnāt too pleased about it, but on the other hand he also felt bad for the stranger. If he knew where he was he probably felt rather alienated, a feeling Reloh knew all too well.
Bryan, despite not being able to see, could hear. And he heard quick shuffling of individuals in the bar and coffeehouse that indicated they were escaping quickly. Did he look a threat? He probably did; thatās how he was treated for most of his life so he was used to it. Besides, with less creatures in the coffeehouse, the more his stance went from shuffling awkwardly to a more steady poise. The stammering of the owner did not escape his hearing as well, and he tilted his head.. down.. to try and discern where he was. After a pause, he leaned forward to rest his hands on the counter top, taking a deep breath. āTypical...,ā He muttered under his breath, āWell, if chai latte exists here, Iād like that. Plain.ā Bryan kneeled, knowing there wasnāt much he could do about a seat. There probably werenāt many that could fit him and he wasnāt about to cause a ruckus, especially since he was just starting to get spacial awareness of this little coffee shop. āOdd question, but where exactly am I? On another planet?ā

Fighting had always been in his life. He always dreamed about fighting. His lover, and his daughter. The excitement he had when he saw them, just looking at them.It was always a beautiful dream seeing everything in its prime, his own castle, and his own servants. He always treated them well, so when there was a revolt he had no idea what he did wrong. Did he do anything wrong? Itās those inherent worries that cause his beautiful dream to melt the walls and pool to the ground, washing out colors as he found himself at a grave site, feeling the textures of the tombstones that marked the graves of his lover and daughter.Every dream reminded him of his failures and shortcomings, as they melted to the same feeling of the texture of those two graves.

If there was one thing Bryan always managed to dream about, it was his own mistakes. The first mistake he ever made his in his life. It was more or less a feeling. He never dreamed completely concrete things, just... emotions. Feelings. Powerful ones. Ones that made his blood curdle and his heart leap in his chest as he writhed in pain. The pain in his eyes as the last thing he saw, his beautiful blue, sad eyes stared back in a mirror as he gripped his temples, his teeth grinding against each other as he struggled to maintain his composure. And then everything just... went blurry. He could barely see. All he could see is just vague blobs of color. He was blind. The reality if the situation was always the worst thing he had to deal with as he woke up the next day.Laying there in his bed, just... staring at nothing.
Well, you know like, nyah.

Questor keeps his arrow knocked back, its tip trained on a nearby monster, as he shoots a glance over at Lord Bryan, his hood hiding the fact that heās got an eyebrow cocked in confusion. Ā āOch!Ā Yāwanna jusā let it come anā get us?ā
āListen, Iād hate to burst your bubbleā¦ā Bryan could only slide his heel back as he felt the ground rumbling underneath him as he tilted his head. The sound of the monster in front of the two of them was at full attention, but the air around him felt sticky and putrid⦠there were things on the ground heād rather not want to imagine what they might be (thanks, blindness, giving me mental images worse than what they might beā¦). Not to mention the low growls from the bushes around them. āWe have more company. I would recommend a tactical retreat.ā
