I… I need to make a werewolf now
I’m running a pre-bought campaign in a sci-fi setting
Totally not-shady NPC: I’ll need you to retrieve my secret cargo from the abandoned spaceship, but it’s very private, so don’t look inside–
Player: Is it a girl in a box?
NPC: …What?
Player: This is a sci-fi story, and there’s a box you don’t want us to look into. There’s only ever one way that ends, and it’s always with a girl stuffed into a box.
Other Player: Hey, we don’t even know how big it is. It could just be a cigar box.
First Player: Okay, you’re right. It could be a bunch of sex toys. How big is the box?
NPC: It’s… uh… six feet long by three feet wide by three feet deep…
First Player: Ugh. Okay, fine. Somebody pack a crowbar and a spare set of women’s clothing. We need to go get this girl out of her box.
uhhhhhhh…….
One day I’m going to run a sci-fi campaign of some kind and there will inevitably be a girl-sized box that the players are not allowed to open
And when they open it instead of a girl there will be 12 possums that immediately escape and create possum-related mischief until they can be put back in the box.
Quick ideas for your desert campaign since you guys liked the ocean one
There is a little shrine that offers shade and a place to sit. A disembodied voice asks you about happenings in the world, what you’ve been up to, and so on. If you give them entertaining stories, or give valuable info, the voice will give advice on how to better survive in the area, or produce a small trinket.
A group of hooligans who get around the desert on shields and sails made of capes who ride the crazy winds.
A crazy looking old man is preaching about the end times. He might be on to something. The sun has slowly been taking longer to come up and longer to go down and keeps getting hotter. Its almost unbearable. Eventually it scorches the land and burns crops, small animals, and even starts small fires.
An old monsterous being has woken up deep below the earth. Its slowly digging its way out of the earth and a large sink hole has appeared where you think the mouth is.
A wizard is trying to bring back an old ocean that dried up long ago, and all the sea creatures with it.
Quick reminder to feel free to send me asks and questions about anything you might need!
HALF-RACES
Homebrew for all the half-human combinations possible with the races found in the player’s handbook! I had a lot of fun making these, though they took a while. Have fun playing!
This was made for D&D 5e and feedback is much appreciated!
arjibi went on a date in our last d&d session, so i finally had an excuse to make him wear this
also i recorded a time lapse this time
you know how most of the things humans use as spices are poisonous or repellent to most other mammals? and you know how anything vaguely d&d inspired has dwarves being way more poison resistant than even humans?
dwarf cuisine shouldn’t be bland, it should be unimaginably spicy and potentially harmful or fatal to humans. like green potato and rhubarb leaf salad with a festive garnish of yew berries and deadly nightshade berries, that kind of thing.

So this is a cheat-sheet I’ve made for personal use to just have an overview over all the basic D&D rules. The first page covers most of the text rules. The color divides the sections more or less from one another.
The second page covers most of the important tables and stats, that you’ll probably need through the game. Hope you like it and find some use for this! Cheers.

How would I go about writing fantasy/fictional religions that have certain clothing–like headdresses and scarves and such, without being appropriating?
I started to answer this, but then I thought I’d just turn it into a larger world building post. So here we go:

My favorite type of characters are “they’re not dumb but they are a dumbass”
Okay, here’s a growth system for your animal companion. Intended for use with the revised ranger the UA put out a while back. This was made entirely because I wanted to have a T-Rex companion. Have it start small and grow into a monstrous killing machine that I could ride into battle with. But that never happened because I can never find a game to play in ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ PDF
Imagine a d&d game but everyone talks like golf announcers and you all just soft clap when someone rolls a 20
“great swing from the barbarian, absolutely beautiful”
GLM Follow the Dawn Part 4
The party finds the First Temple in the tunnels underneath the city and leave Anoron to converse with the gods.
While staying at the Sly hand Company they are approached by dwarf wizard Nanri, one of the adult children members, and asked for a favor. She wants them to check up on a family member of an old family friend of her’s and Mama Ri’s.
This family friend turns out to be Seatlin Axemage one of the country’s council members and head of the country’s magic department.
He asks the party to travel to a nearby village and check up on his counsin Thulese. His cousin has sent him letter about strange happenings in the village. He does warn the party that this small village does not trust outsiders, especially those of non-human races.
At this village they discover a young tiefling is accused of murder and has gone missing. With some investigation (And a lot of fumbling) the gang unravel and take down a hag that was secretly plaguing the town and rescue the young tiefling.
They return to Chinodale and decide to try and find more information about the gods that created the prophecy concerning them.
They learn from the council head of religion, Unanys an elder female gnome, about an ancient council of gods that are suspected to be the original gods that formed the world, Seth Sito Sooth Thanthen (Council of the true kings)
Qotal: the head of the council the god of creation
Chauntea: the goddess of life and nature
Lliira: the goddess of joy
Mystra: the goddess of magic
Torm: the god of courage and self-sacrifice
Amaunator: the god of civilization and justice
Anoron awakens and informs the party that Seth Sito Sooth Thanthen are wanting the four to prove themselves to each of the gods by completing tasks. However, it is unclear exactly how the gods are wanting them to prove themselves…

Makes for really fun characters to write!
Edit: Didn’t expect this response. I tried to link the twitter this came from but can’t, so go check her out!
A thought that arises from the idea of tiefling babies often ending up being abandoned: A rich tiefling adventurer retiring and starting up a tiefling orphanage that takes care of rejected tiefling babies and children.
A thought that arises from the idea of a tiefling orphanage: the rich tiefling adventurer regretting his initiative of filling a mansion with dozens of little devils that all can cast Thaumaturgy. At will.
Oh Boy. :’D
Personally I headcanon that tiefling magic starts to manifest around puberty, but if that wasn’t the case, they’d just have to suck it up and tiefling baby-proof the hell out of the place. B) Have no vases and stuff that might fall over and break during tremors. Have sturdy furniture. Lock doors and windows. Avoid having open flames around. Shove cotton or something into your ears.
Oh yeah, and some of the babies might in that case be able to cast friends, minor illusion, ray of frost, or mage hand. Could result in chaos…
My next one shot is definitely going to be “A party of tiefling babies escape from the orphanage (to go to the candy shop)”
Oh my fuck. I legit NEED to play (or run?) that one-shot now
