I really like the parallels in these two scenes, as well as the contrasting themes. Both scenes are set in a desert/wasteland, both have Ken falling to his knees due to being emotionally overwhelmed.

But the first one is because he realizes he has been defeated, and it marks the end of a glorious yet dark period in his life.

The 2nd one is because he is joyful at seeing Osamu, and for just one moment he has a glimmer of false hope. The following conversation marks a new beginning, rather than an end, even with Osamu gone once more.

I think these were two of Ken’s most powerful moments. His fall from power, and the moment he was finally able to let go and forgive himself, and stand back up. And keep moving forward.
