How I get into Sleep Paralysis for Astral Projection
Sleeping Preparations:
Your going to need to get yourself very comfortable, your going to need to be so comfortable that you don't want to move an inch because well you cant move an inch if you want this to work.
Hygiene: Take care of all personal hygiene. I cant tell you how many times I gave up on getting into sleep paralysis because the taste in my mouth was bothering me. Make sure you go to the bathroom also.
Comfort: Set up your bed in a way that is the most comfortable for you. I toss and turn all night so it can be difficult for me to fall asleep. I had to find all the little things that irritated me when laying still and figure out how to remove them; you should do the same. One example of this is my feet inside my blanket. The blanket pressing down on my toes just bothered the hell out of me. Also, I have a habit of crossing my toes that is annoying as well. If you can get comfortable without a problem and fall asleep, this is gonna be very easy for you.
Tips from my personal experience
Lay flat, don't touch your body, don't cross your legs or arms, don't be too far on the edge of the bed either. Think to yourself if I was paralyzed right now how would I like to be situated? The answer is.. not hanging off the bed with your legs and arms crossed. So just relax and lay flat. You can get into sleep paralysis no matter how your situated but in my experience its easier this way.
3. Distractions: Televisions, computers, radios, people talking, all of this stuff can irritate the process. Just try to make sure these are minimized. I will touch more on this later but astral projection is achieved by your pineal gland excreting DMT (dimethyltryptamine) at the time you begin to fall asleep. The pineal gland wont excrete things like melatonin and DMT in high qualities unless your in pitch black darkness.
Visualization: Now that your comfortable, I want you to do a little exercise with your mind which may or may not be easy for you but this has a lot to do with how vivid your experience will be. What I want you to do is see the things around you with your eyes closed. What I do personally is stare at my bookshelf with my eyes closed. I pick out one book and make out its color, shape, and any other features it has. Continue to visualize throughout the process of sleep paralysis.
The time has come to get into Sleep Paralysis.
Now that your relaxed, your eyes are closed, and your visualizing your surrounding area, put your attention on your body.
Method 1:
DO NOT MOVE!
It is so important that you do not move. If you move you will have to restart. You shouldn't even move your tongue in your mouth. Do a little mediation technique where you feel your jaw loosen and either rest your tongue on the top of your mouth or let it float. Just get comfortable. Think about it like your just going to sleep. The moment you start to think about achieving sleep paralysis it could trigger you to feel uncomfortable.
Method 2: The lazy way to get into sleep paralysis but I view as a more advanced, nuanced and disciplined, is to simply pay attention to the exact moment you begin to fall asleep. Because while you begin to fall and go numb you a just pay attention to all the steps Im about to mention.
No matter what happens keep the mind absolutely focused and aware on the fact that your attempting to astral project. It needs to be nagging you in your subconscious mind. Focus on the moment, attention on what your body is feelings. Realize that you are consciousness inhabiting a body and the body can sleep while your consciousness remains aware.
Pay attention to your Hands: Your hands will being to feel numb and weightless. Use this as a meter for how far into the process you are.
Falling: Keep your awareness in your body. Keep paying attention to your hands and continue to visualize your surroundings. Notice that you are beginning to feel heavy, numb and weightless. Pay attention to the moment before your body falls asleep. Next there will be some very noticeable signs your about to cross over into another state of consciousness. Something very strange and scary for beginners is about to happen and at this moment you will know your about to be locked into sleep paralysis.
Auditory Hallucinations: At this time you will notice the body feels very weightless and you will begin to have some auditory hallucinations. You will feel and hear an intense vibration. Also, things in your house and outside may become extremely loud such as, the wind, insects, televisions, people talking, whatever. This is your third eye (pineal gland) releasing dmt(dimethyltryptamine), aka the god molecule, aka the seat of the soul. What you must do is focus on the vibrations in a meditative way. Hone in on them and expand them in your mind. The key in this moment is to focus all your attention on these vibrations. Don't be afraid in this moment!! this is key and is suppose to happen, you are not in danger. Doing this will put you into a deeper state of relaxation and conscious mediation. In this moment make sure you relax. Stay calm and do not try to move yet. When you relax, the vibrational shift will quiet down. Make sure you don't fall asleep in this moment.
