Moon Prism Power
The amazing Amy Wibowo and I held our first gallery show, Moon Prism Power, a Sailor Moon art show featuring female and non binary artists.
The show itself took 6 months of curating, planning, and prep. We had about 40 artists and around 60 pieces of artwork on exhibition at the Galallery. The gallery was split into two sections. One, a darker themed area, meant to represent “Fighting Evil by Moonlight” and the other a lighter, pastelly room, decorated like Usagi’s bedroom, representing “Winning Love by Daylight” Opening night was packed and filled with cosplay and love of Sailor Moon. We even had cocktails by the incredible Mint and Mirth, each themed to an Inner Senshi's attack. Themed and decorated cookies of Luna, Artemis, and Usagi’s transformation Brooch were provided by MyCookieSF. The show itself was a lot of work but an incredible success!
Mercury Power, Mars Power, Jupiter Power, Venus Power
These are my 4 pieces, Mercury Power, Mars Power, Jupiter Power, and Venus Power. I had a great time making these pieces but wanted to make so much more considering how much Sailor Moon meant to my childhood. Each piece depicts an Inner Senshi's transformations. I wanted pay homage to their transformation sequences in the show and emulate the element they are guardians of. The female form is such a beautiful thing and I wanted to show that anyone can transform into a sailor scout.
Originals for the show were printed on metallic paper to add extra shimmer and magic. Both the metallic prints and giclee editions were printed by Little Print Monster. All proceeds from giclee editions go to ACLU and are available on Little Print Monster’s website!
Ravishing Creature
My second piece for Spoke Art’s Wes Anderson Bad Dads show. While I was working on my first piece of the Jaguar Shark, I had an epiphany. I had laughed at the Jeff Goldblum Jurassic Park gif a while back and thought it would be hilarious to make a Life Aquatic version with Bill Murray and Jeff Goldblum. It had been a while since I’ve painted digitally, but it was a happy and silly diversion.
The piece is available on Spoke Art’s website as an 18x24 giclee print!
AUTHENTIC STEVE ZISSOU SIGNED POSTER JAGUAR SHARK II POSTER
This is one of two of my pieces for Spoke Art’s annual Wes Anderson Bad Dads show.
I initially started out illustrating the one of my favorite scenes in the movie. The cathartic scene when (what’s left of) the crew of the Bellafonte finally meet the jaguar shark. I wanted to keep the dark and moodiness of the scene with the only lights coming from the Deep Search and the glow of the fluorescent snappers.
The movie, Steve Zissou, and his crew are based off of Jacque Cousteau and his documentary travels. I wanted to pay homage, and kind of be cheeky by making a Jacque Cousteau-esque poster, while also being meta and connecting back to a particular scene in the movie.
If you've seen the movie, there's a scene where Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) is approached by a man with a stack of posters. After signing a few, Zissou tells him to just forge the rest. The poster is for the latest installment of the Zissou documentaries "The Jaguar Shark part 2". Whether or not the signature is authentic is up to you :P.
You can pick up the print via Spoke Art’s shop.

I quite like Sam Esmail’s style and aesthetic and have been keeping up with Mr. Robot through its latest season. I wanted to represent Elliot’s character, social disorder and disparaging personalities through glitch motifs. As I worked on this piece, I did quite a bit of research as to the different types of glitches and digital aberrations. I’m also a big fan of Sam Esmail’s style of sneaking in easter eggs and motifs that hinted at a larger story or trope of the unreliable narrator. Both aspects informed the types of glitch and what to represent at glitches. For those that watch the show, but don’t already know, Sam Esmail has created an alternate reality game from easter eggs in the show. I’m a personal lover of hidden messages, ciphers, puzzles, and treasure hunts, and hid a few easter eggs of my own in this print. I may have even built a website dedicated to it ;P. See if you can find them all. In the meanwhile, prints coming soon to the shop!
Kurt Head Kurt Outs
When the Time Beards invited me to do a piece for their Kurt Russell “Deep Cuts” Art Show, I knew I wanted to do something non-print and considered doing everything from 3D prints, laser cut acrylic, and wood cuts.
I also had a hard time deciding which movie to pick and had started digitally illustrating Lo Pan from Big Trouble in Little China, intending to have him cut out of acrylic and back lit to look menacing.
While looking for laser cutters to cut acrylic, I took a second look at Kurt Russell to see what other pieces I could create and realized what I loved about his characters was their goofiness and their varying beard lengths and glorious manes. So I decided to set aside Lo Pan and do the different personas of Kurt and chose Escape from New York’s Snake Plissken, The Thing’s J.R MacReady, Big Trouble in Little China’s Jack Burton, Deathproof’s Stuntman Mike, and The Fox and the Hound’s Copper, although Copper was never finished :(.
The easiest thing about this project was the vector illustration. I even streamed a few on Twitch. The painstaking part was having an idea of cut out art pieces come to life; from getting the individual pieces cut to priming an gluing the pieces correctly to painting and varnishing. Pagoda Arts here in SF did a wonderful job cutting out the wood pieces with only a single day turnaround at an affordable price. If you’re looking for a good place for laser cuts, I highly recommend them. After receiving the wood cut outs, I primed all of the individual pieces, gessoing and sanding 2-3 layers, glued the layers in place, and painted them with acrylic. I also spent extra time detailing each piece like hand stippling Snake and Jack’s beard.
The show itself was a success. There was never a dull moment, the venue constantly being packed with Kurt Russell and art fans. We were honored with some GoGi wine, Kurt Russell’s winery’s wine, to christen the show and some warm words of wisdom from Kurt himself. The other art pieces were absolutely stunning and the artists behind them were even more so!
Prints from the show are available via Little Print Monsters!
Not All There
This is my piece for Hero Complex Gallery and Disney’s Alice Through The Looking Glass Art Showcase. I was incredibly honored to be amongst some phenomenally talented female artists.
This piece is of the Cheshire Cat. I wanted to convey his cunning, strangeness, and elusiveness that holds true to Lewis Carroll’s original character. He include elements from both Disney’s original and Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.
The print itself is an 18x24 4-color screenprint and Glows-in-the-Dark! There’re some still available to snag at Hero Complex Gallery’s website.
Here was my original piece for Hero Complex Gallery and Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass Showcase. The first was my originally submission and my second was with additional flourishes. Although the piece itself was rejected due to too close of character likeness (with too little time to get actor approval), I was really happy with how the piece turned out. I ended up creating the Cheshire Cat for the actual show.
Kylo Ren on the Finalizer Prints
After falling in love with the Kylo Ren vector, I decided to make it a screenprint.
This was my first screenprint ever. It took several weeks to learn how to prep the files for printing and trial and error. But, through the partnership and guidance with Mama’s Sauce, we were able to create this amazing print.
Kylo Ren on the Finalizer comes in 2 variants, 3 colors on 9x24in French Paper and is available at my shop!
The Perfect Night
Kiki’s Delivery Service was my first introduction to Miyazaki movies. I remember watching it on as a Disney Channel premiere and remembering how completely magical the movie was to me. I had to include her in the Miyazaki tribute show.
The Girl that Fell From the Sky
My Castle in the Sky piece for the Miyazaki Tribute show at Sketchpad Gallery, “The Girl that Fell From the Sky”.
