Let's see what the weekend series in Atlanta does for our run production

The New England Revolution (MLS) are currently significantly outscoring the Boston Red Sox (MLB) on a per-game basis, with the soccer club averaging nearly double the offensive production. [1]

Over a recent 12-game home stretch for both teams, the Revolution scored 24 goals, while the Red Sox managed only 22 runs in that same span.

New England Revolution: Averaging 1.66 goals per game (20 goals total across 12 matches).

Boston Red Sox: Averaging under 1 run per game during their recent slump (hitting near the bottom of the league in home runs and team offense).

It is certainly not with Boston sports. First round playoff exits for both the Bruins and Celtics. The Celtics failure was more of a surprise. First post season loss to the 76ers since my high school days - 1982!! Now all we have is the terrible looking Red Sox.

Trails

I was able to get to one of our local trails the other day. It's nice to have some warmer spring weather.

The trail goes around this small bio retention pond then passes by a large condominium development eventually meeting up with a bike path.

Our local marsh and pond have thawed and the waterfowl have returned. The water level is quite high with all the runoff. There was also a pair of Wood Ducks that got scared off, great to see them return!

This has been an incredible month, topped off by the biggest snowstorm in Rhode Island's history.

We've had the Super Bowl with the Patriots, a mass shooting and now a huge blizzard all in the past 3 weeks!

They had to clear snow off the roof at work and left an enormous pile by our back door

As of 7 p.m. Monday (Feb. 23, 2026) , the storm dumped 37.9 inches of snow, making it the worst snowstorm ever to hit Rhode Island.

Update - we surpassed the official state record from the infamous Blizzard of 78.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Blizzard of ’26 is the new Blizzard of ’78.

As of 7 p.m. Monday, the storm dumped 37.9 inches of snow, making it the worst snowstorm ever to hit Rhode Island.

The never ending winter... this snow pile is still left from the January storm. The birds and critters have been very hungry with all the snow cover. At least Spring Training is underway!

Monday 2/9/26

A great run by the New England Patriots came to an end with a resounding loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60. If you told me back in August 2025 that the Patriots would even make the playoffs, I would have been pleased. The future looks bring, let's just get more protection around Drake Maye.

And the Red Sox finally pick up a third baseman, Caleb Durbin, after a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers.
