♥︎ ݁ 𓏲 nanami and his sentimental polaroid pictures of you
nanami keeps four polaroids tucked carefully inside the leather folds of his wallet—not loose, nor bent. not forgotten, but protected and cherished. touched more often than he’ll ever admit.
the first is innocent. the two of you at the tiny bakery where you first met, where he bought an extra pastry just because you looked like you needed something sweet that morning. it’s a picture from your first official date—you leaning over the table, cheeks warm, sunlight brushing your face while you laugh at something he said. the soft pink pastry box is open between you. your fingers are dusted in powdered sugar. it’s such a simple moment, so stupidly ordinary, but every time nanami glances at it during the day, he feels that quiet, terrifying certainty he felt even then: that’s the person I’m going to love for a long time.
the second photo is from your college graduation. cap crooked on your head, gown unzipped a little because you were overheating, the bouquet of white roses he insisted on buying you clutched to your chest. you didn’t pose—nanami caught you mid-laugh, mouth open, joy spilling out of you like it couldn’t be contained. it’s the only picture of you where he can hear the exact sound of your happiness. that one lives in the center fold of his wallet, the place his thumb goes first. he swears it brightens the inside of his chest every time he sees it.
the third polaroid… he pretends he keeps it because it’s wholesome. disneyland. the castle towering behind you. your arms looped around his neck as you press the fattest kiss into his cheek. you forced him to wear matching ears; he looks stiff, a little embarrassed, like someone who has never been allowed to feel soft his entire life. but you can see the truth in the picture—the way he’s looking at you, not at the camera. like he’s caught mid-realization that maybe he finally deserves something gentle.
he doesn’t let anyone see that photo. that softness is just for him.
and then there’s the fourth. the one he keeps hidden behind the others, tucked flat against the leather like a secret. it’s the filthiest picture he owns—the one he should never have taken, the one he can’t stop touching.
you’re on your hands and knees at the edge of the bed, back arched so perfectly he still gets a little dizzy looking at it. nanami is standing behind you, one foot planted on the floor, the other braced on the mattress for leverage. both your wrists are pinned behind your back with just one of his hands—arm bent, fingers wrapped tight. your face is turned toward the camera, flushed and impossibly pretty, mouth parted around the sound of a moan you didn’t have time to finish. your eyes are half-lidded, pouty, glossy with pleasure. you look ruined. you look obedient. you look like everything he’s ever wanted.
the corner of the photo catches just the curve of your ass—the soft bounce of it, the way your thighs tremble, the way you take him so willingly his breath had stuttered when the flash went off. he didn’t even mean for the picture to be that perfect. it just was.
sometimes, when work pushes him to the edge of his patience and the world feels unbearably cruel, nanami touches the outline of that hidden polaroid through the leather. just feeling the shape of it is enough to make him exhale.
he’d be such a liar if he said those were the only pictures he took. or the only ones he thinks about late at night.
and he’d be an even bigger liar if he said he doesn’t plan on filling another wallet someday, not with money nor receipts, but with more pieces of you. your smile. your softness. your ruin. all of it.
