INTRODUCTION TO THE CLAN

Hello, everyone, and welcome to GoldClan! Set in a semi dystopian universe, it is a world running parallel to the Warriorsverse. The idea for GoldClan came about when I wanted to find a way to make a ClanGen blog while also flipping the standard gameplay on its head. I'm pretty new to this, so bear with me!

LORE

In a world where animals have been taken by humans -- "striders" -- and mutated into robotic creatures with sentience, seven Catomatons escape confinement, running for the mountains.

Here, we're introduced to the founders:

Guide Goldstar (Goldtuft): 77F; righteous, good hunter. (app: Smokepaw)

Guide's Assistant Trapmoon: 149F; compassionate, good mediator. (apps: Leadpaw, Strikepaw)

Mechanic Sootrush: 137F; righteous, connection to StarClan.

Learner Strikepaw: 9F; childish, oddly observant. (mentor: Trapmoon)

Learner Smokepaw: 6F; playful, lover of stories, interested in tools. (teacher: Goldstar)

Learner Leadpaw: 6F; shameless, confident with words. (teacher: Trapmoon)

Youth Bronzekit: 4F; daydreamer, quick witted.

Spirit Scaldpaw: 11F in life; 137 in death; compassionate, confident with words.

TERMINOLOGY

The Guide is considered the highest rank in the Clan. They tend to most of the Clan business and is solely responsible for patrolling the border.

The Guide's Assistant helps oversee the Guide and handle any physical disputes.

The Mechanics are an integral role in the Clan, helping with repairs within Camp and fellow Catomatons.

The Learners are considered the most treasured part of the Clan, being in the middle of innocence and knowledge. Each Learner is assigned a Teacher to help them train. If anything happens to a Learner in a Teacher's presence, said Teacher is ostracized.

The Youths are to be protected at all costs, too unaware with the world. The Guide's Assistant often supervised them.

Catomaton is a combination of the words "cat" and "automaton".

After being plagued with a reoccurring dream, Flintpaw commits an act that causes her to run from her clan, taking her sister– Foalkit– with her.

Q: Is there somewhere I can easily read your comic in order?

A: Check out our ComicFury! It has an automatic archive that’s super easy to use so you can access any moon, aphidask, or additional material/art instantaneously without having to scroll through the entire blog, and it’s all in order!! You don’t need a CF account in order to use it as much as you like, and if you wish, you can come straight back to the tumblr blog after using CF to catch up! Enjoy!

Q: Is your clangen modded?

A: Nope! The actual sprites of the characters are normal, but my own creative liberties turn them into sparklecats. That’s why you’ll see Pearlstar with pink and gold and sky blue markings in the pages, but not in his sprite.

Q: Are the background/side characters available for questioning?

A: Yes!! Any and all cats that appear on this blog are available for questions, even if they’re deceased, an Outsider, or a nameless background character only present for a panel or two.

PLEASE do not ping me. Don’t ping me with newly made clangen blogs, even as inspiration. (Pinging me for fanart is fine👍 but only fanart/fanwriting) if you really want to include me as your clangen blog inspiration, write my blog name like “@/aphidclan-clangen” so I don’t get the ping

Don’t ask me for art or demand that I make reference sheets for the characters, or update the family tree sooner, or any other additional material for the comic. Don’t demand for updates to come out sooner. It’s very disrespectful. This is a hobby where I draw for my own entertainment, nothing else.

Do not make humanized designs of my characters. They are my characters, not yours. However, I am fine with you drawing Aphidclan cats as furries and anthros or dressing them up in cool outfits, since I already draw them as anthros/furries myself and no real aspect of the design is being changed when they’re drawn as anthropomorphic/furries, it’s just,,, the cats, but standing on two legs lol

No parasocial shit, please. Do not DM me, or ask to be my friend, or make headcanons of my OCs, or stalk me and obsess over me or otherwise put me on some kind of pedestal. I’m not your idol, I’m not an influencer, this makes me extremely uncomfortable. Hello! I'm Orion and I'm making a clangen comic!

This is dedicated to my clan, EchoClan, and was inspired by @/moons-of-dewclan and a few others! Here's some basic info:

Some moons are skipped over because either nothing happened or it was incredibly boring! Be prepared for some weird timing in terms of seasons and kithood/apprenticeship lengths

You may ask the characters anything you want! And you can ask any character anything, even those that show up as part of flashbacks or dead cats

There is no upload schedule, and this comic is used primarily as a way to me to improve my comic making and storytelling skills. So expect some stylistic changes and even improvements along the way! I am also very busy so there may be some gaps here and there ":]

Everything is randomly generated! Although I've taken some artistic and creative liberties when it comes to the retelling and illustration of events

This is also my first time making anything like this so please be patient! I'm trying my darndest
