On Wednesday, huge crowds gathered after anti-trans organizers called for a “million man march” against transgender rights. Yet, it wasn't the opponents of trans rights who predominantly showed up. Instead, crowds of supporters for transgender rights and teachers unions backing them flooded streets in cities such as Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa. Pride flags were raised in front of city buildings, and even Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, lent his voice in support. What was envisioned as a day to spotlight the “widespread opposition” to LGBTQ+ youth instead blossomed into a remarkable display of backing and unity for trans individuals across Canada.

More than 1,000 counter-protesters descended on Queen’s Park to combat anti-LGBTQ2S+ inclusive education demonstrations, one of the many planned across the country on Wednesday.
Nationwide protests under the banner “1 Million March 4 Children” are pushing for the elimination of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) curriculums in Canada.

Like how do I make it more clear that I still urgently need help, I'm not really receiving help, I don't have any income until the 22nd, and too much shit hit the fucking fan all at once. I am breaking. I can make you art. I can pay you back. I currently have $40 TO MY NAME with nothing coming in but a meager paycheck on the 22nd that is going to go straight to overdue bills. I need to pay my credit card payment. I need to fix my car by getting a replacement engine so I don't have to waste money ridesharing to work. I need to pay rent from last month so I don't fucking get evicted. I need to eat. If you can help I am begging you to do so. I'm tired of being desperate.

Now is an excellent time to tell your Democratic Congress Critters trans Healthcare is important
If you can't safely contact them in person, here are some other options:
Call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to the representative of your choice.
Here is one that will send your reps a fax: https://resist.bot/
This is extremely important, y'all. They're trying to Hyde Amendment trans care for people of all ages.
Medicaid and Medicare coverage would go away, no matter what state you are in. ACA plan coverage would go away. Hospitals would fully just have to stop offering trans care, full stop, or lose their federal funding.
I know we hate the phone but we absolutely can't sleep on this. If you have a Democrat rep, you absolutely have to tell them to hold the line against this.
Please do not let this pass silently. Please call your Representatives and Senators, yes call them and leave a message. This cannot be tolerated, this will kill so many people who are just trying to live our lives.

New data from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has revealed that K2-18 b, an exoplanet nearly nine times the size of Earth, could be an example of a theorized class of planets with hydrogen-rich atmospheres, vast liquid oceans and the potential to support life. Observations taken by the telescope detected the presence of carbon-bearing molecules such as methane and carbon-dioxide, according to a NASA press release published on Monday. Astronomers also picked up signs of a molecule called dimethyl sulfide (DMS) – which, on Earth, is only produced by living things. K2-18 b is an exoplanet orbiting a dwarf star roughly 120 light years away from Earth in the constellation of Leo. It is categorized as a sub-Neptune, a class of planets that are between the size of Earth and Neptune and common in the universe, although not in our solar system. Scientists have known about K2-18 b for a while, with initial observations taken by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, but these new observations taken with the James Webb Telescope have provided details that astronomers had previously only wondered about. "Our findings underscore the importance of considering diverse habitable environments in the search for life elsewhere," Nikku Madhusudhan, an astronomer at the University of Cambridge and lead author of a paper announcing these results, said in the release. "Traditionally, the search for life on exoplanets has focused primarily on smaller rocky planets, but the larger Hycean worlds are significantly more conducive to atmospheric observations."

Wait, have I really never talked about Economy Of Information, the thing I made up that is also the thing I use the most when writing?
Idk, maybe this is a Known thing, but I've never heard anyone talk about it so that means I get to.
Economy Of Information is one of those things that's easier to understand than it is to explain. All it really boils down to is spacing out information in a story in a way that is digestible to your audience. In purely mechanical terms: look at each scene in a story as either asking a question or providing an answer. Often times you'll find both in multiples. The key to good Economy of Information is balancing answers and questions. If you're audience isn't curious, they'll lose interest in the story. But at the same time if you string them along for too long, with a bunch of lingering questions with no immediate answers, it can get frustrating. Importantly, this applies to *all* information, big or small, real or abstract. You don't have to answer every question right away, especially big questions. But prompting small questions and providing small answers is a good way to develop trust with your audience.
I wanna emphasize, this is not like... gospel or anything. This is a *very* utilitarian approach to storytelling. However, as a comic artist where famously nothing is free, I find it a useful way to think about what I'm currently writing, and if something can be cut. Or added. Nothing wrong with a little efficiency.
Yeah, this is a pretty excellent way to think about it.
This theory shows what's the problem with infodumping - it isn't that you're giving a bunch of information per se, but rather that you're giving more information than the reader can process before they can desire further information. But if you're writing, like, an RPG sourcebook, it's OK to be information dense because the readers will desire a great deal of information.
Of course, knowing that this exists is one thing, being able to apply it is something else entirely! I know I'm always too eager to show my hand in my stories...
Yes, exactly! Holding off until just the right moment to reveal a piece of information is an art unto itself, and when you do it right it's so so satisfying

Star Wars Ahsoka episode 6 review!
Getting still goofier, but still kind of good. They're making big retcons/additions to the history of some star wars things (Dathomirians, The Galaxy) that I just don't buy. Also the pacing of this show is so weird, why didn't this episode happen two episodes ago. Thrawn's vocal performance is very good as expected, but his appearance is not working, his skin and eyes and hair are not gelling at all, something about the hair/makeup/cgi (using cheap cgi to cheap out on union work I assume). That's fine though. Ezra is really good, I love his new knightly outfit and vibe, and also incredible that they found someone who looks like the character and sounds like the voice actor from the animated show. I like the fucked up stormtrooper outfits after being stranded for a long time that are damaged and incorporate the red Dathomirian cloth and gold plating, gold crack mending, and "statueness" (can't think of the word). I also really like the dog horses, and the hermit crab people.
Words that are very important to schizo-spec and psychotic people because they are the few words that accurately describe our unique and often life-changing experience:
• delusion/delusional
• hallucinate/hallucinating
• psychosis/psychotic
•schizophrenia/schizophrenic
• paranoia/paranoid
• word salad
Please don't use these words incorrectly. It does directly impact us. Yes the meaning of words evolves, but we don't have words to replace these ones. But you have words to replace these if you are using them as descriptors for something evil, unpredictable, selfish, contradictory, scared, misspeaking, etc.
a QPR is a QPR because the individuals in it decided it is. not because friends ‘don’t live together and kiss eachother,’ or ‘because friendships aren’t this committed.’ that’s not how this works. friends can do anything and as long as they have the intent for friendship, it’s a friendship. you can defend QPR’s without pushing amatonormativity.

The beginning of Hamlet is really funny
Horatio: Yeah there's been this thing that looks like a ghost, but I don't believe it is, and anyways.
Marcellus: Wh– it's back again!
Barnardo: Doesn't that look like the king who died?
Horatio: Yeah.
Barnardo: You should talk to it
Marcellus: Yeah go on, talk to it!
Horatio: Hey, you, what're you doing here and why do you look like the king that just died? C'mon, you gotta tell us!
Marcellus: I think you've offended him.
Barnardo: Aw– see! He's walking away!
Horatio: Come back! Come talk to us!
Marcellus: He's gone, dude.
