I love your "they ring the same bells for weddings and funerals" tag bc I work as a bell-ringer at one of the few churches in my city where you still have to ring the bell manually. and we do ring the same bell whether it's a wedding or a funeral! but ☝️ we also ring it if the local sports team wins at sports (the secret third thing that is neither a wedding nor a funeral)

it's fascinating how modern bureaucracy has given us a sort of astral body in the realm of documents and paperwork, all the documentation that exists on me being almost like a shadow body, an imago of sorts, the movements of which İ have become so used to İ don't notice them anymore, until something about my situation changes and the physical body no longer lines up with the bureaucratic body, the changes are underway but until they are carried out in the bureaucratic dimension it is like İ am moving through the world with a lack of body, like lacking a soul, it is fascinating the way bureaucracy can make one feel disembodied

it's not enough to be passively non-racist. whether you're chasing people off here yourself or choosing to ignore "discourse" (meaning the rights of black people to basic respect), the end result is a big whites-only sign outside your little clubhouse. when the tide is pulling toward bigotry, refusing to swim against it just means you'll be carried along too. passivity is acceptance. get mad, get loud, don't value the comfort of the oppressor over the dignity of the oppressed.
