FPE & Concert Spoilers Ahead, as well as talk about poor (past) mental health
I know that the community, like any other, has its flaws. But goodness gracious, I am filled with such love for the Clique right now.
I met so many lovely people at my show. I got to chat to people about the lore, about the music, about our love for the band- people who were just as excited as I was to be there. I got to sit around the Bandito campfire with my best friend and just experience physical community in a way I haven't in the longest time. It's corny as hell- maybe it didn't quite feel like home, because it's not something I get to experience often, but there was such a genuine comfort underneath all the buzz and excitement. I'm so grateful for everyone I got to talk to!
I could write a play-by-play of all the parts of the night that meant a lot to me. I started to, in my notes app, and I'll probably keep writing things down there. But for now, I just wanted to share a personal victory for myself, as a reminder for later.
When I was lucky enough to see them live during AEWTOP, I wasn't in a super great place. I was clinging to the song Next Semester, and hearing it live was everything I had needed in that moment. It gave me something to look to in a time when my anxiety was basically ruling my life. Screaming those lyrics was one of the most cathartic experiences of my entire life.
After that, Clancy's release was enough to keep me afloat for a while. It gave me a distraction. But then, after May 24th, things started getting worse, as far as my anxiety went. For most of the summer, I was struggling.
But things are on the upswing now. My situation shifted. Things got better, and based on the past few weeks, it's looking like it'll stay that way.
Hearing Next Semester again on the Clancy tour was a completely different- albeit equally emotional- experience. Though only a few months separate the experience, it was a few very difficult months for me, and it was a moment of looking back. It was a moment of reflection, a moment of gratitude that I was able to stand there, that I started fresh with a new semester.
I am so grateful for these memories and for these feelings. Even if I never see or talk to most of the people I talked to that night ever again, I thank you all for the overwhelming amount of positivity and joy you filled the night with.

Saw a singular gif of Clancy and Torchbearer from Paladin Strait and nearly started crying? It wasn't even anything poignant? It was just them walking toward each other???? I think I need sleep I don't know where these emotions came from

i'm just curious bc i'm watching How to Train Your Dragon and i always forget how happy and calm it makes me feel. i mean, i did name my cat after Toothless the dragon. but i also love Lion King, that's my Disney comfort movie. and my Ghibli comfort movie is Spirited Away. watching any of these when i'm in a foul mood or my anxiety is high always helps š„° but i watch them just for fun too, not only when i'm in a mood. what about you?

Everyone and everything is constantly telling us "Just do it! Yolo!". Always encouraging us to do stupid, pointless stuff, because why not! Society encourages nihilism, disguising it as encouraging us to step outside of our comfort zones, do something memorable. Only get one life, right? So have fun while you still can, because life doesnāt really matter, does it?
And Tyler's calling that out, showing us how stupid that mindset is. We only get one life and we should take it seriously. We should do something amazing, something that has meaning, in this life, instead of wasting it. Maybe thereās a higher calling out thereāI think there is. So why waste your life, when your lifeā when youā are worth so much more than that?
