Okomito-Typeface

Okomito™ is a new sans serif (only medium weight is free downloadable) inspired by the classic typefaces that were imbued with a sense of functionality, boldness and industrial strength.

Trade Gothic, Helvetica, Akzidenz Grotesk, Univers and all the great grotesques were the inspirations and influences in creating Okimoto. Flexibility and neutrality are in mind when Okimoto was conceptualised.

Henning M. Lederer is a visual artist from Essen, Germany and sports a wide array of talents when it comes to motion graphics as well. In his latest, he combines the two to create a short film, “Covers”, which features geometric shapes, colors, and patterns from book covers dating back to the 1960s.

Adelle is a slab serif typeface conceived by Veronika Burian and José Scaglione specifically for intensive editorial use, mainly in newspapers, magazines, and online, its personality and flexibility make it a true multipurpose typeface.

Adelle’s superior screen rendering and cross-platform consistency has also made it one of our most popular webfonts.

At the moment of posting I'm using Adelle for my titles and headings, served via Typekit using their Font Embed Code and a bit of Custom CSS input in the customization panel of this theme.

1955 FERRARI 250 GT BOANO

The Ferrari 250 GT Boano by Pinin Farina was originally designed as a show car for the 1956 Geneva Motor Show, it was intended as a sign of things to come and clearly showcased the styling direction that would be taken by Pinin Farina over the coming decade.

As with almost all the Ferraris in the 250 series, the 250 GT Boano was powered by the impressively engineered Colombo Tipo 125 V12. The full list of cars that fall under the umbrella of the Ferrari 250 series is impressively long, the obvious standouts are the 250 GTO, the 250 Testa Rossa and the 250 LM but the 250 GT Boano is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful.
