finally saw bob dylan live !!!
amazing performance, he sounds so good and it's so cool to see him rearrange or switch up phrasing of older songs in a way that reflects his age now
cool venue
horrifically bad audience that pissed me off so bad
awful transit/parking/venue access options got home an hour later than i'd hoped
you win some, you lose some
but still can't believe i finally got to see bob after all these years of listening... i think after i missed him a few other times due to work or travel i just thought maybe i'd never get to? but i did! and from a great seat!!
tl;dr i'm never going to a show that isn't easily accessible by transit again unless i'm literally Traveling and Staying In A Hotel for the show and splitting costs with folks lol
going to a concert soon and there were no dates in my city, so i very specifically chose the closest location on the tour that had public transit access via train and shuttle for cost and ease of access from where i live
well since i got the ticket back in the spring when i researched how to get there....... the venue stopped running the shuttle
now anyone who doesn't own/rent a car to drive there (and pay $$$ to park there) has to take uber or lyft (i don't even have those lmao)
it's wildly expensive because everyone leaves the show at once, and it takes for ever because instead of being on a bus or in a van leaving with dozens of folks at once, everyone has to wait on individual fucking cars in a parking lot surrounded by hundreds of cars leaving
i'm not going for the headliner, so i will probably just skip them entirely just to try avoid surge pricing and awful 2 hour waits i've seen discussed on other socials. sad to say it- it would've been cool to say i'd seen the headliner too lol
not the first time this summer i've gone to a concert outside my city and both times it's been an absolute nightmare to access the venue (looong wait times, extra $$, getting home at like 3am when the concert ended by 11, my entire body hurting from standing for so many hours) stg i'm never going to another concert again that isn't literally In A City i'm too old for this shit :(

Come you masters of war You that build all the guns You that build the death planes You that build the big bombs You that hide behind walls You that hide behind desks I just want you to know I can see through your masks Let me ask you one question Is your money that good Will it buy you forgiveness Do you think that it could I think you will find When your death takes its toll All the money you made Will never buy back your soul
-Masters of War, Bob Dylan
"We’re just living and moving through the earth and through the world and through our experience. That’s just what it means to be alive. You just have to sit down and do the work. There are those who do and there are those who don’t, and I think it’s actually really practical."
Sufjan Stevens, Interview with Paste Magazine (2025)
"God is my only hope. I still rely on God in everything I do. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. I feel like, the more that I see and feel and experience in this physical world, the more reliant I am on things that are sublime and unseen."

"It’s a reminder that we all were children, and in some ways we’re still children. We live and grow and life devastates us and then we die. This album seems to be a celebration of that process. What’s really remarkable about digging through the archive photos is there is so much life to celebrate in spite of this material being all about death."
